i use remote bot to basically have an app on my phone that can act as a "user"/contact (bot). it forwards whatsapp/text-notifications (and other stuff) to my telegram account, and - vice versa - makes phone controls available via telegram-messages.

takes a bit of tweaking to setup, but .. works like a charm.

There's a telegram bot app that can do that. I've used it for a similar purpose. It stops working sometimes though, so hopefully you've got access to your phones to reset it from time to time.
