I've been using Ringer Modes - Quick Tile. After installing, you will be able to add a quick tile from the swipe down menu that lets you toggle between silent, vibrate only, and sounds. The only quirk I've found so far is that the slider has to be in the ring/sound position for the toggles to work correctly. If I want complete silence (except for alarms), I put the slider up to silent. If I want all sounds or vibrate only, I put the slider down to the regular position and then use the quick tile to toggle between vibrate only and ring only. It's worked well for me.
I use ringer modes https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.quicktiles
Here's how I have it set up:
Top setting: full silent
Middle: calls only, no notifications
Bottom: normal, with a pull down tile to toggle vibrate on and off
If you install the app "Ringer Modes" you can add a tile that toggles between Vibrate and normal mode for free.

I use been using the app Ringer Modes - Quick Settings Tile for over a year now and it icon toggles between Normal, Vibrate and Silent. After install you have to edit your quick tiles and add where you want it.
Once upon a time I had a similar problem after dropping the phone in water.
1) download an app to change DnD / silent profiles and use it to override When this happened to me a couple of years ago I used ringer modes - quick settings tile https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.quicktiles 2) buy a bag of cat toilet or silica gel or whatever the absorption granules are named wherever you are and leave the phone there overnight every night when going to bed. This got rid of the moisture on mine and it started working again. Works better than a bag of rice even though my silica gel was old.
If all fails then 3) - go and migrate to lineageos - it's stable, works ok and is more secure. There you could opt to not use the slider at all.
This is the one I use, it's called ringer modes https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.quicktiles Unfortunately doesn't control the slider, you can just put it in the notification bar pull down and tap it to switch between ringer on, vibrate, or totally silent
Get the free app called RingerModes (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.quicktiles)
This will add a tile to the notification shade that allows you to toggle between the ringer being on/vibrate/silent
If by sound widget you mean a tile for putting the phone on silent/vibrate, then take a look at installing the Ringer Modes Tile app and adding it to the tray by pressing the pencil icon on the tray when you pull it down then dragging the tile in from the bottom
I use Ringer Modes: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.quicktiles
I set Top to silent
middle is notifications off but ringer on
bottom is everything on unless I swipe down and change the mode to vibrate
I use Ringer Modes: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.quicktiles
I set Top to silent
I set middle to notifications off but ringer on (I own a business and I'm on call 24/7 but I don't want texts, Facebook, etc waking me up)
bottom is everything on unless I swipe down and change the mode to vibrate
You can toggle on do-not-disturb mode in the quick settings.
Alternatively you can install this: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cgollner.quicktiles
It just adds a quick settings tile exactly like the one you're looking for.
But this tile would be greater if could switch between:
I had to install Ringer Modes - Quick Tile which seems to fit this need.
Such a stupid, stupid decision.
The best workaround I've found is the app Ringer Modes - Quick Tile which adds a tile to your quick settings that will allow you to put the phone in Vibrate mode
