Same price on amazon, but with free same day shipping.
I just went through this a few days ago, actually. Buy an unlocked Nexus, then bring the phone to a Verizon retailer where they will provide and install a sim card for free.
I highly recommend this route if you can afford the upfront cost. I've done it twice now with a Nexus 6 and 5x (FYI: currently the white version is $250 via Amazon). You avoid the ridiculous amounts of bloatware Verizon forces on any phone they sell (on top of the bloatware forced by Samsung, etc) and guarantee timely updates.
I just use an app called Wakeup Touch Nexus. You double-tap the proximity sensor to turn the screen on. Works amazingly well, and I prefer it over the power button.

I recently ordered a ProClip. It's the only one I've seen so far that includes charging. Slide the phone in and it seats on a type-C connector. No fumbling with plugging in cables when you get in the car.
It's not the cheapest solution out there.... But they often have coupon codes. I got mine 20% off on their Thanksgiving promotion.
Use more RAM? I don't think it matters that much, mate. Why don't you want to use a third-party app? I use Light Manager, and it's fine...
Here's a fix that's working for me so far:
1) Download Disable Service from the play store (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=cn.wq.disableservice)
2) Go to 'System' tab and locate 'Google Play services'
3) Enable SystemUpdateService (must grant root privileges)
Ok first you need this app (and its subsequent license) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=nl.fameit.rotate
Then here's the task. From 8pm to 6am, if it's plugged in, it'll go to reverse portrait. And go back to portrait on exit.
Oh also in settings>battery>optimization you need to turn off optimization on tasker and that rotation app.
Download here. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0Adb2AumfRgN1pERmY0NmFaWDA/view?usp=drivesdk
Open it with tasker. Then in tasker double click on the profiles tab and import.
Yes. The Google messenger app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.messaging) is set to default on here. As with any android phone, you can always switch to hangout (it sounds like you don't) or just download a different messaging app from Google Play.
Even without root this app will give much more in-depth information than the battery section of settings. Also it has virtually no impact on battery life.
Just download it and let it run. By tomorrow when your battery is low again it should have enough data to tell you what the culprit is.
>It also has to do with principle, it's MY phone, I wanna remove that bar without having to use a completely different launcher.
The hard way it is, then.
You're just shooting yourself in the foot here.
you can look at the Nexus 6 64GB pricing here and kinda correlate it to the 6p. http://camelcamelcamel.com/Motorola-Nexus-Cellphone-Discontinued-Manufacturer/product/B00R1984I8?context=browse
In August last year the phone was priced around $400. Black friday was the best price ($260) and phone was discontinued shortly thereafter.
While I think some of the price discount on the 6 was due to the lukewarm reception to the phone you have to believe the general pricing strategy of the 6p will trend in a similar way. In other words, my wife is due for a new phone right now but she's waiting until black friday to see what is out there.
I actually recommend facebook lite its the one they give to countries where they don't care about spying on the people, you cant download it from US google play store. Its about 1 MB and includes a messenger.
IMHO there are better options (such as the Shield Tablet) at full MSRP.
If you are patient you can find a good deal on a new or refurbished unit. (Example: New from walmart for 147 USD)
Also, swappa.com has lots of used tablets.
There's like a dozen different things that could be stumping you, but your complete wipe should have gotten it working.
Occasionally when google now updates, even though settings are still enabled, I've had to turn them off and back on again to work.
In google now -> settings -> voice you'll need to enable both bluetooth headset and "hands-free" (if you intend to use this with the screen turned off).
Here's an older article that deals with this specifically, although it's somewhat out of date.
I don't have a "Google Search" app installed on my Nexus 6 for instance, all that functionality has been subsumed by "Launcher3".
Whatever is doing your google searches, you'll want to drill into its "Open by default" settings in the app info and hit the "Clear defaults" button.
Then when you hit the home button on your tablet or the bluetooth button on your headset, the tablet will go "Hey, I don't have anything assigned to this action, but there's several potential options!" and you should be able to set it up correctly.
Bluetooth Launch mentioned in the article might be a good test bed as well, but considering how deep you are going to be twiddling settings, don't be surprised if another reset is in store for your tablet.
Unfortunately, the documentation for these sort of issues is practically non-existent.
What if you used something like Pixel Filter? The app turns off pixels to save battery. But it has an option to shift which pixels are on/off with a timer. This would keep any 1 pixel from being on for extended periods of time, it might help...
To each his own, but that just seems like silly logic to me. I can see what a stock version of a device has to offer in 5 minutes. If I purchased a $400-$700 device, and the ability to root it and make it more useful by whatever means(custom ROM's, kernels, etc.) available than I'm going to do it.
For example on my Nexus 6P, I rooted immediately and flashed Cataclysm ROM & ElementalX kernel. The ROM gives me the ability to tweak the UI more to my liking with little details like moving the clock in the status bar to the center, moving around and adding/removing quick settings tiles, having the volume buttons switch orientation when I switch to landscape so clicking "volume down" increases volume and vice-versa, quick PIN unlock(which is now obsolete with the finger-print scanner, but in the past was great), the ability to hide the nav-bar and use Swipe Navigationto navigate eliminating the possibility of burn-in and freeing up screen real-estate, adding the famous clear-all recent's button, and many other things from just the custom ROM aspect of rooting. Oh, and don't forget Layers(although I believe Layers is built into stock as of 6.0 marshmallow.
Custom kernels like elementalX can increase battery life, performance, however on my Nexus 6P the best part of the custom kernel is the ability to tweak the calibration of this gorgeous screen and make it even better with custom color profiles.
Viper4Android increasing sound quality
That's just the stuff I had on the top of my head...not to mention it is all very fun!
Also back in the day when I used Galaxy devices(I had the Galaxy s2, s3, s4) rooting allowed me to tweak that nasty TouchWiz, or even completely get rid of it and run AOSP or in the galaxy s4's case Google Play Edition ROM on my non-google play edition device!
Uninstalled ES File Explorer as soon as I saw this notification. I then discovered Amaze -- free, no ads, open source, and it even supports SMB. Highly recommended replacement for ES which has now become complete garbage. Sad really.
The only other thing I'd like to add is Google Photos The default Mac Calendar plays nice with Google IMO, and it looks and works so much better than the web version of Google Calendar.
Use the Google Photos app to back them up over WiFi and then the same app to restore them on your new phone. That's the easiest way. You can do this on your laptop as well by navigating to https://photos.google.com/.
On your laptop, you probably don't see anything because you need the latest Android SDK to be able to see your phone contents over MTP. If you absolutely must use a physical connection, this is the way to go even though obviously it is more complicated.
MightyText will let you send and receive texts from your computer. They have programs for Windows and Mac OS, as well as a Chrome extension. It also syncs deleted texts, which iMessage does not do (and I always wished it did).
I would hope so, I just bought this from Amazon. Also looks like Google sells the same one on their store. Not sure about a USB C to micro USB but I would imagine so because using a USB type A to micro USB converter on a regular OTG cable should work fine.
Planning on getting a SanDisk UltraFit down the line if I need more storage or just to free up space on the phone without being at the computer.
Idk if these are the ones Dmaynard83 was referring to, but I use these with a 5X and all functions work properly: Amazon Premium Headphones https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00HX0SRXW/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_nafIwbTTF6D37
I have had a Microsoft Wedge Mobile Keyboard for a while and I like it with my N9.
Long battery life (I'm using 2 eneloop AA's), solid construction, no problems with the bluetooth pairing, and it comes with a rubber cover that doubles as a stand for a phone/tablet.
It looks like its currently going for ~$33 USD or ~$60 CAD on amazon. I don't remember exactly what price I bought it for now, but I looked around and was able to price match it at BestBuy for I think around $40 in Canada around the same time that the Nexus 9 came out.
For $230 including overnight shipping, it's an unbelievable phone (4/64GB model). Runs better than my Nexus 6p did, nothing lags, screen looks great, finger print reader is fast and the built in nav for it is really cool. Camera is not terrible, pretty good in the correct lighting (kinda falls short when dark), and is waterproofed. The only complaint is the large bezels around the screen, but it's truly a monster of a phone for the price. Extremely happy with it after a couple of days of use.
EDIT: I got it open box from Newegg, no longer available. Looks like Amazon has it prime eligible for around $240, still a hell of a deal. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MR2ZFBI/ref=twister_B01NCYZTP4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
I am using this : http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0151MELTM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00
Its a temp case until the spiegn case comes in on Nov 12th.. Works good but semi bulky.. I may keep it for hikes and days where there is more possibility of drops but Idk..
You can test cables with something like this. It will tell you exactly how much current is being drawn by the phone (or anything else you plug into it).
From what you describe it does sound like you might be pulling 3A through a charger that can't handle that amount of current for any length of time.
And just $8. Not bad and the buttons all work fine. I have a slightly pricier Spigen clear case on the way that will be better protection but it wasn't going to be in stock for shipping out until today or tomorrow and my Nexus 6p arrived yesterday.
I've never been able to get AFT to work with my pixel. What I do instead is use Portal to send music files over WiFi.
It's fairly quick, and will automatically put mp3 files in the music folder. I like to organize the files into folders afterwards so they're easy to manage.
I don't know if this still works or if there is another option out there, but Night Mode is still baked into the code even on Nexus devices that don't officially support it. When I had my Nexus 6P, I used this app to enable the Night Mode toggle. I have a Pixel XL and a Pixel C (which doesn't support Night Mode), but this worked very well on the Nexus 6P. Good luck! There are other apps out there that claim to enable this toggle also.
I did a quick Google and came on this, which includes a guy that has your problem. https://qnalist.com/questions/4939899/stream-all-audio-through-bluetooth
He recommends this app called SoundAbout. Give it a try? https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.woodslink.android.wiredheadphoneroutingfix

I recently ran into the same problem with my n5. It is your power button that is being janky. From what I have been told there is no permanent solution to fix the button.
I have started using this app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.plexnor.gravityscreenofffree) to control when my screen goes on and off. I have yet to use my power button since discovering it and am trying to extend my phone's life as long as possible.

I recommend trying different apps. I used to have the same complaints when I recorded Audio witht he voice memo tool. The app miidio recorder get's much much better results so I figured it's a software problem. I don't shoot much video so I can't recommend a certain app for that unfortunately.
To answer the hardware/software question, you can download a camera app with manual focus, such as Open Camera [1] and run the focus to the macro extreme. I had a hard time focusing on objects closer than a few inches in manual mode. You may need to get a stick-on macro lens for your N5X if you want to be closer.

Would have linked it earlier but work. It works REALLY well for me. Hope it does for you as well. More commands are added all the time too. Even has a vote system for new commands. Ones with most votes get added first.
Try wiping your system cache partition. It fixed this problem and trouble with my contacts list when upgrading to marshmallow on my Nexus 6. The link below is where I found this solution.
They are doing a tablet play store presentation on the 21st, so why not piggyback it in the presentation then release on 22nd?
AdAway. It was one of the only reasons I ever used to root my phones. Once the last one started to get old I then started to flash roms to stay current.
Some apps perform better with root.
Here is one: https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipOCPLisII3Bg8Sn6OiP7CIdnr7CShyuAYeTm5JN I've had it for less than a day. This JUST happened. It fell out of my shirt pocket onto the concrete. My fault yes, but was not expecting THIS much damage. I have never cracked a screen before this. Kinda feeling numb right now. Anyhoo, even after having this phone less than a day I think its safe to say that this is the most fragile cell phone I've ever owned.
New ones were down to $45 from Best Buy, WalMart, Target, and other big box stores about a month ago.
You can still find $50 refurbs occasionally (like this limited-time offer), but new ones seem to be back up to $80+.
wow. i actually can't find any either.. I see 1 thats a 3ft and like $20.
honestly, your best option is probably just to grab an adapter like this. http://www.gearbest.com/cables-connectors/pp_204365.html?currency=USD&gclid=CKWggvvU0sgCFVUTHwoduywL3g
that way you can utilize a long micro usb cable you might already have.. or just buy a long USB-A cable and get the appropriate adapter. Probably will be cheaper that one long cable with odd ends
Their hardware is completely fine, not really any issues and they're pretty solid build proof wise. If you search around the 5/6/etc has been commented to have really good build quality considering the price (example). Pretty much as tough as the original Nokia phones.
Make sure you're downloading TWRP from here: https://twrp.me/lg/lgnexus5.html
Copy twrp to C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot if you're using minimal adb and fastboot, or if you're using the Android SDK to where the adb and fastboot files are found.
Reboot the phone to fastboot mode and then do the command "fastboot flash recovery twrp-3.4.0-0-hammerhead.img"
Once that's done, on the phone use the volume bottoms to move to recovery, then press the power button and it should boot into recovery mode.
Came here to say Cerberus for next time. It is worth the cost, and gives you added features above and beyond Android Device Manager. Best of luck. I hope you get it back without incident.
Something like this? Having the same issue. It says Samsung but it's just hardware - don't understand why it wouldn't work with Nexus.
Something like this? Having the same issue. It says Samsung but it's just hardware - don't understand why it wouldn't work with Nexus.
Probably. It's what I use on my phone. It's $10 on Amazon Prime so you can't go wrong.
I did get the same case for my wife's 5x in green (or frost ice as they call it). That's was slippery. The black one for the 6p is just fine though.
No problem! Glad you decided to give Android a try, especially with something like the 6P. It sucks that you had such a serious issue with the 6+. If you want something that's really good for protecting the 6P there is another case I ran across too:
https://www.amazon.com/Nexus-Case-Verus-Shield-Electric/dp/B015GHQLTK
https://www.amazon.com/Speck-Products-CandyShell-Grip-Smartphone/dp/B015XIIM2G
edit: this is the other one from ozrly. this is actually the one i settled on. i love that it has a kickstand and holes that keep the 6p cooler. most of all, i like that it is a really slim, but highly protective case. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZmNHx2_2kw0
The SPECK, on the other hand, is a tank. I've dropped it 5 times with the speck on a tile floor and it's been fine.
The gorilla glass was the one thing I was looking out for. Seems very few places mention if they use it or not. Repairs Universe as someone else mentioned said theirs have it but the reviews for that site are pretty terrible.
I ended up just ordering this one from Amazon. No idea if it has gorilla glass or not.
Here's the cheapest one on Amazon, but it looks like you don't get a warranty. https://www.amazon.com/LG-H791-5-2-Inch-Factory-Unlocked/dp/B0188RJJSA/ref=sr_1_7?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1475583806&sr=1-7
>Oke so my phone came with a mini usb to usb c adapter (thx google\lg), but im still curious how to use it.
You mean something like this? Than you are fine, you can use that adapter with your existing old-style USB cables and you will be fine for both charging and data transfer.
I cracked the screen on my 2013 N7. This week while trying to repair it myself I screwed up and damaged one of the motherboards.
I just ordered a refurbished 2013 N7 from Amazon for $114. It's shipped and sold by Amazon so I'm not dealing with a 3rd party.
It says shipping in 2-4 weeks but I'm not really in a hurry for it.
I picked up this one, if you do not need a holster i would probably go with another case. the screen protector is rather weak, but overall the case itself is solid if you want a heavy duty case.
https://www.amazon.com/SUPCASE-Holster-Full-body-Protective-Protector/dp/B015XANE4U
I've used Diztronic TPU cases on my phones for years. The 6P one is as good as all the others I've had and fits well around the buttons etc. I like them for their feel in the hand (not too slick, rough, or rubbery) and their good balance of protection with slimness. But if you're looking for an impenetrable fortress/drop-it-from-30-ft type case they may not be for you.

I bought something like this to take the phone apart. It is a very easy process to get to the camera module. I'm not sure how you would go about cleaning it. I'd assume you just have some dust on the inside part of the phone (not inside the module?). Google an ifixit article and give it a shot! The Nexus 5 was the first phone I ever took apart and it was very simple.
(I had to remove my camera modules - front and back - due to security at my job). Good luck!
As far as a clear "case", you can try out a Nilkin TPU. It won't have the same protection as a plastic case, but it'll still look decent and save your phone from scratches and dents.
http://www.amazon.com/Nexus-Nillkin-Clear-Huawei-Transparent/dp/B018JYITBA
As for screen protectors, I buy this:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B019O5MN4W/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I would suggest: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01DEMTOQ6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_v4ECxbT7CKJKV
combined with these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01AHKYIRS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_j2ECxbCC4957V
Notice, this plugs into a regular USB DAC adapter, do you would need a different adapter than the one it came with.
I currently use this combo with my car charger.
i have an OTG cable that does not work in conjunction with a USB C adapter for some reason, so i use something similar to this: http://www.amazon.com/Josi-Minea-Adapter-Macbook-ChromeBook/dp/B01BW8SM0S/ref=sr_1_14?s=wireless&ie=UTF8&qid=1464214614&sr=1-14&keywords=usb+c+otg
...and ES Explorer recognizes it immediately, without messing around with Stickmount or anything.
I ordered the Spigen Rugged Armor. Seems to be a favorite, after they fixed all their sensor-blocking issues.
If that one is too bulky or grippy (like collecting all dust from my pocket, not coming out of pocket easily, etc), I'll probably look at the Spigen Exact Fit.
I've had success with this sort of mount. Don't have a Nexus phone but a MotoX, but this lets the pincer get out of the way of buttons and holds it in with the rubber corners (one half of the rubber holder is longer to let the main mount be offset from the phone's middle).
I understand waiting on Android Wear. I keep thinking they will show a new watch at I/O. I have this wristband for my 5x and it works real well.
http://www.amazon.com/Armband-Perfect-Earphone-Connection-Workout/dp/B016ERBDOO
I will say that the aux cable I use seems to need a little extra force to insert the last millimeter or so into my Nexus 5X. I don't know if this could be happening to you either. Are you able to check whether any other devices have this issue when plugged into your car the same way?
The case I'm using on it right now is actually quite thick (although not as ridiculously thick as a typical Otterbox case for the iPhone). This is the case I've been using since day one. It's a rather nice case, but the thickness does make the phone slightly bulkier. However, my original reply above was written based on my use of the 6P with this case on it every day, so even with a thick case, I still feel like the phone's size is manageable. I must point out that the phone is slightly easier to use without the case on it. (On a somewhat unrelated note, the lip on the sides of the case also is not high enough to fit over top of a glass screen protector, so be aware that the buttons on the side of the case will be misaligned with the actual buttons on the phone.)
If you're worried about the size and you're not prone to accidentally dropping your phone from more than a couple of feet in the air, I would just go with a thinner TPU case. I like my case, but it has its flaws, and there are definitely thinner ones out there for the 6P.

I don't have the Canada link but I have this one and love it.
I got the Spigen Ultra Hybrid Case. I love it, it has the protection it needs but the main reason I got it is because it still retains the look of the phone so the back Nexus logo and everything behind it is visible!
Same.
I have this screen protector: http://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B016CBF5VO?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage

Haven't tore any apart myself, so I judge by how fast it charges. I bought this A-C cable to charge while at work, and it's just as fast as the C-C one my Nexus shipped with.
I broke the screen on my 6p last week and used a keyboard/mouse to connect it to a Chromecast.
There are a bunch of OTG cables out there. Here's the one I got
With the phone unlocked, drag down from the top twice to get to the settings drawer
Press down seven times to select the "cast" tile.
Enter to select it.
Wait ~10 seconds for any chromecasts to show up.
Press enter again to connect.
Obviously doesn't help if you don't have a chromecast lying around, but you'll end up with full access to the phone in case you want to copy off text messages or anything else that doesn't get backed up automatically.
I've tried the Spigen case that others are recommending, it's not bad, but it's not super thin, nor is it open around the buttons.
I currently use the KuGi case, and I'm very happy with it. $7 prime, super thin, adds a little grip, but not too much.
Edit: To be clear, the Spigen doesn't cover the buttons, but it does wrap around them more than the KuGi. I found it took a little extra effort to use the buttons with the Spigen, because your finger is hitting the case and the button at the same time. That doesn't happen with the Kugi because it's more open.
I have this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015EHQUVG
Minimalist TPU case with some knurling / grippy texture on the sides so you don't drop it. I had an identical on with my GS6 and it is far better than all those fancy cases out there.
I'm not too sure since I didn't own a nexus 6, from what I hear though It's similar in size just much thinner. As far as a case goes there's a lot of slim ones going around. The one I have on right now for example is really thin
You can def find a wide assortment of other thin cases so I don't think that would be a problem.
I got this when it was on sale for $10 (i.e. up until like last week)
So its going to be a big change for you coming from a compact phone to a phablet. If you have large hands, using it with one hand is possible for most cases. If you don't have large hands, you'll most likely be using the phone with two hands and you'll get used to it in a good way! You can still use one hand on some ways but I use it with two. If you really like the phone, you will accept the size and appreciate it over time, I know I have!
Since the phone is big as it is, I didn't want to get a otterbox case because that would make the phone even bigger. Instead I got this Spigen clear case which is pretty good in my opinion, no problems at all. I mainly got it because I want the phone to be noticeable and lightweight.
when I first got my 6p, I was able to charge between 2.1 and 2.4 amps with the following:
google supplied usb a to c
eligiant usb a to c
monoprice a to c
choetech a to c
and 2.7 to 3 amps on a vinsic car charger with the following:
google usb c to c
anker usb c to c
now, since the 6.0.1 update, with the anker usb c to c, I start out getting 2.7 amp, then it quickly levels off to 1.5 -1.8 amp. this is below 20% battery on the phone, and the battery temp is in the 20s.
the only usb a to c cable I can charge better than 1.5 amps is the choetech. I have 2 google supplied usb a to c cables, they only charge at 1.5 amps on several different 2.4 amp chargers. I thought I had some app that was doing something wierd so I uninstalled all power diagnostic apps and measured with an inline usb meter, still shows 1.5 amp with he phone off even, except with the choetech cable. I dont think this is anything to do with 56k resistors, or cc lines or any of that, I Think the cables themselves are just too small guage. the choetech a to c, and the google c to c are bigger than the other cables I have. I dont really want to cut them open to measure the wire guage though.
funny thing is, I bought the mono price cable http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00VTZ7WOM?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage because it specifically mentions it is able to tranfer 100 watts of power, yet it only give me 1.5 amps.
I have this case, and it's awesome. After a pretty bad 5' drop onto a tile floor have just a small chip on the screen. Switched from this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0142CCEIW, which was excellent protection, but just too damn bulky.
I've used this one for a few different phones, including my 6P, and it works just fine. I've had it since March this year, and it still works with nearly daily use.

the thing is great! fits my 6P with a case, grip is tight on the phone, but easily removed. it fits very securely into your cd tray, not at all worried about it falling out of a big bump or something. and it doesn't block your air vents. ;). Of course, you can't use your cd player anymore but I use AUX so it doesn't matter. I prefer these to magnet ones since no one else can use the mount in your car but you.
If your car has an AUX in you could get a Bluetooth car kit. I have this one and it works great for me: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GJFGE0K It has a stick on backing so I mounted it on my dash and zip tied the cables under the dashboard to keep them out of the way. It works well for calls, music and navigation. To answer a call you just have to press the button on the front which is convenient if it's mounted on your dash.
I've had a lot of luck with this one so far. Haven't noticed any impact to performance. I am a little concerned about what will happen if I blow warm air out of the vents, but don't generally use those vents for warm air.
The Cinema FV-5 app allows you set the ISO, and framerate, but not the shutter speed of the camera (it's a hardware limitation as far as I know) and the phone picks it for you. Because I wanted my shutter speed to be about double my framerate for that cinematic look, I used the variable ND filter to eyeball it to approximately the right exposure, as ISO 100 on a bright overcast day will still VERY much overexpose on a 1/50th shutter speed and a fixed f/2.4 aperture. The phone would have picked too high of a shutter speed.
I just bought this one. Inexpensive, but it can charge my 6P at 2.4A (the fastest charging possible with a USB-A to USB-C cable) and charge my tablet at full speed at the same time.
I also bought the car version of the same charger and 6 foot cables for each device. It's a very convenient setup.
The aluminum body is a little slippery, I did like that better about the 5X. I just ordered a Spigen Thin Fit case. I think that'll give it a little more grip and scratch protection without adding much bulk.
"Mustpoint", an Amazon retailer. Reviews were overall positive, so I'd hesitate to say that the replacement screen is defective. I won't rule it out completely, though.
edit: here's where I got it.
Thanks for the video, well done.
Another cable that is a little better value is this Yoozon cable I ended up purchasing. Currently have my 5x plugged into it and it works great.
This claims to be 3A
and this claims to be up to 4.8A

I am personally using this one and really like it, it's crazy smooth, has a cutout for the ambient sensor and installed perfectly. It shows a cutout for the front camera on the product photo but mine did not have one, so far I have not noticed any minus to it missing one.
I just received these from amazon ... $5 each isn't bad (they are actually on sale for $14.99 right now!). It should be noted that the cables I received are the flat "ribbon" type, not the typical cord as shown in the listing but I don't mind that. The build quality is good and the connection points at each end of the cord are reinforced.

I know they are USB 2.0 but hasn't it been confirmed that the 5X/6P aren't USB 3.1 anyway?
I did tweet Poetic this week, and I was told they are making a case for the 6P. Also, there's a listing for the Poetic Revolution case for the 6P on Amazon.co.uk HERE, but it's not up for the U.S. site yet. On the UK site, it says it'll be in stock on November 29th. :)
