RSS Reader is one of the least terrible ones that I've found. It's a "standalone" RSS reader (duh) with a good amount of options, including a good looking dark theme. There's a pro key for a few more features and removal of ads.
Flym is another one that doesn't suck. Also a standalone RSS reader. This one is Open Source.
This app does the job.
I have used this before. It gives me news from sources and it can actually load the text.
The interface is a little primitive though.

Let me know what u think.
I use this RSS reader, it can retrieve full text in reader mode (only text and images). Free version is ad-supported but i can't say how bad ads are because i'm rooted and don't see any ads at all.
Klar Brudi, einfach eine Applikation wie diese holen. Ich persönlich nutze diese (nicht vom Playstore) als Nachrichtenwidget.
Sometimes I feel as if I am a unicorn RSS app user. What I want from a RSS reader is full text offline usage without creating an account somewhere. And, I don't get the purpose of offline reading if I have to be online to read offline!!!!11!!!!111!!!! Most RSS apps claim to have full text offline, but they don't! The only RSS reader that does this is RSS Reader:

Unfortunately, this reader is kind of broken since Oreo. It does not show notifications and it seems to download duplicate articles.
The easy way: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.madsvyat.simplerssreader
The hard way: self-hosted Tiny Tiny Rss -instance on a Raspberry Pi 4, with the app FeedMe (rak-rak beat me to it)
The impossible way: selfhosted ttrss with the Palabre app but you have to decompile this extension with something like APK easy tool to remove the SSL requirement if you're too lazy to set it up the proper way (and yes, the irony isn't lost on me)
This app has that feature and I only get notified when something unread appears

This one https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.madsvyat.simplerssreader last update from 2019, but last time when old MD is still up, it still works fine
