No, this is not normal. Could you try installing this app to check if your screen is working correctly? Touch all over the screen, you are supposed to see white dots wherever you touch.
Keep fighting the good fight soldier. I do enjoy rocking the old hardware for as long as I can/maximize my investment. When I started using TMobile MVNOs and was able to unlock the Band 4 LTE on the Nexus 4 a few years ago, it convinced me to keep going on this phone just a bit longer.
edit: For those who come after, the touchscreen testing program I used is here
Hi again, no problems with late answer. Im myself using latest Dev rom found here. https://cloud.mail.ru/public/Cvj7/3U5rjvc6s/DEV/
And sad to hear the phone isnt working good. Have you tried your screen touch function with an app such as: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cp.stest&hl=en
If your phone does have a malfunctioning screen, record the test and (with your friends phone maybe :)) and then talk with the support once again. Dont forget to say you have complained once before.
There are screen testing apps to see where the screen has problems. I had the same issue and had my screen replaced. Works fine now and the scratches in the glass are gone too.
I honestly can't notice anything. I tried this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cp.stest
You got another test I should run? I'm very much interested in this.
