Vibe UI is something I definitely would not show as the ultimate android android experience. But there's a good amount of roms out there closer to android stock.
Feels plastic'ish and the glass could be better, that said the button and micro usb port placement really helps. And yes it does get updated quite often, tough I would strongly suggest rooting to remove bloatware from vendor and adding a custom recovery to flash newer roms (check the wiki on the side).
You can find BB Hub on the play store, tough it looks like the reviews arent so great, Disa seems to be the most enjoyed alternative.
Battery life for me hasnt been really a problem (the charger is really fast), Its notably drained whenever im gaming tough.
IMEI is easy to restore.
You could either flash the xposed framework to do it.
Otherwise, if your ROM is rooted, you can try this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cryptotel.chamelephon&hl=pt_PT
Note: the above info is also available on the official k3 note thread here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/android/development/organized-thread-lenovo-k3-note-k50-t3158522
Just Ctrl+F for IMEI
It's a 6.0 ROM based on VibeUI 3.0. There's no bloatware on this rom, and runs pretty smoothly. All functions work perfectly, included notification LED, GLONASS, Bluetooth...
On google account there's a download (sync?) apps checkbox, it automatically download your current roster of apps from the play store, and you can export/import your contact list. Side loaded apps will be a bother tough.
:) for night mode you can try this app
if Miravision is wanted i can make an add-on zip.
i will try to make some nicer icons in the camera app (settings in the right) and to set 1920x1080 as default instead 4K as video resolution
sure. 1) root 2) use custom rom such as cm 12.1 beta3 (http://www.needrom.com/download/cyanogen-mod-12-1-beta-3/) or another rom with custom kernel 3) download kernel auditor https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grarak.kerneladiutor&hl=en 4) put the big and little cpu speed to 1200mhz or 1417mhz 5) voila, no more touch screen crashes and more battery life as well
hope it works out for you. Ive tried to get some feedback (so i can get into touch with lenovo) but none has given one :(
Hi again, no problems with late answer. Im myself using latest Dev rom found here. https://cloud.mail.ru/public/Cvj7/3U5rjvc6s/DEV/
And sad to hear the phone isnt working good. Have you tried your screen touch function with an app such as: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cp.stest&hl=en
If your phone does have a malfunctioning screen, record the test and (with your friends phone maybe :)) and then talk with the support once again. Dont forget to say you have complained once before.
I had a similliar problem with this phone. If you find a solution could you please post it here?
My solution, uninstalled google maps and installed OpenStreetMap that works much better (for me ofc). https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.osmand
I'm on a different ROM, so things are probably different, but there should be something in Profiles or Auto profiles that allow this. Meeting profile on Nexus ROM is silent with vibrate. Otherwise, an app like Settings Extended can probably give you what you need. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hb.settings
Guys, I have problem with playstore. Some apps always fail to install with error: "Unknown erorr during aplication install: -507". Today I only applied stagefright patch if that has anything to do with it. Before, that same apps wont even start downloading, and would show error: "uncompatible version or model" or something like that.
I tried to play with market helper apk, but it seemed like it did nothing to fix playstore issue for me. Currently its uninstalled.
PS One more user has the same issue with playstore, so I am wondering if there are more of us, and what to do. It happens on some apps only. Problematic for me are:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.globaldizajn.icinestar
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.infinum.hak
If some of you can, try to install one of this two
Crappy might have been too strong of a word here, since its definitely decent for this price range. And you are right, Google Camera does seem to have some focusing issues in low light.
Anyway, you might want to try out A Better Camera. The UI is a little lacking, but it does have pretty decent modes for post-processing, such as HDR and Dynamic Range Optimisation.
