You could enable dev settings and reduce animation speed to 0.5 seconds

This gallery app https://www.dropbox.com/s/nu65bhpa2zzp535/Gallery.apk?dl=0 is pretty basic yet fast and allows you to create shortcuts to albums from the desktop
You may already know this, but you can create desktop shortcuts to websites from chrome
Hmm, I didn't think to see if it is. If so, it's the stupidest goddamn design decision. Whatever. I installed settings extended which resides in the notifications dropdown and it pops up a window that shows the three volume sliders.
Edit: Jesus H. Christ on a cracker. The volume rocker is on the back. I went back to RTF Website and low and behold:
>[...] The graceful Ergonomic Arc case tapers to a bold yet elegant look, and the rear-mounted volume-control and shutter button is ideally positioned for your index finger.[...]
She's been kind of spoiled and going from a Moto X to the $75 AT&T Go phone is a bit of a bumpy ride. Luckily, I still had a 16G SD from my previous phone and was able to pop it into her new one.
I'm on a different ROM, so things are probably different, but there should be something in Profiles or Auto profiles that allow this. Meeting profile on Nexus ROM is silent with vibrate. Otherwise, an app like Settings Extended can probably give you what you need. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hb.settings
Maybe this app can help you: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hb.settings&hl=en
You can set it as a widget or create a shortcut in the status bar, being able to select sound modes or control individual volumes (notifications, ringtone, media volume and alarm).
I use linkme: Settings Extended and it allows me to toggle data on/off with Lollipop (5.0.1). Maybe give that a shot.

Looks okay, but last updated in Dec of 2013. Take a look at Settings Extended.
