These are great for scaring away aggressive dogs. Very small. Fits easily in your jacket pocket and far louder than you can be with your voice. Puts a real scare in them.
I agree, the ones that worked ok sold out and nobody really has the means or desire to compete when match.com owns a big monopoly on most of the dating sites/apps.
Also our culture just sucks more. We all kinda suck.

Like if covid happened 5-10 years ago I'd have no problem at least finding potential matches to talk to at least that could hold a conversation.
Some people tried to make an alternative to Patreon which was shut down by visa:
Here is where they talk about various types of NSFW fiction is being removed at the behest of Visa/Mastercard:

There are a few companies who control the entire financial system in the US and access to it. When they decide something, everyone has to accept it or lose their source of income. This is terrifying stuff.
I flat out stop bothering with Photoshop and just use Photopea for everything these days. Granted my needs aren't turbo sophisticated, but it's still pretty versatile alternative with no overhead.
This is a recording app. If you hit the button on the side of the phone three times, the phone will vibrate once and start to record. Even if the phone is locked and the screen is dark.

Tough. May I suggest this book to read? It helped me in some similar situations - kids have no filter and will shamelessly push every boundaries.
For sure! It's called IUGA. They have funky prints too. I can't live without the pockets anymore
Sorry but your notion of ptsd is just wrong. It can be caused by any number of things and far from being a natural reaction it is a disorder that can be traced to brain damage resulting from excessive amounts stress hormones for prolonged periods of time. Very common in abuse and toxic family situations. https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/post-traumatic-stress-disorder/symptoms-causes/syc-20355967
Here's a portable door lock you could use for when "just walking in" is inappropriate.
Also, need to have that talk about "respecting ones need for some privacy" and how she wouldn't like it if you were to barge in on her while she's changing. It's pretty rough if you are so fed up as to consider doing the same to her to let her be on the receiving end 'to see how she likes being barged in on while nude'.
This is the one I use: https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B086W1YZSH/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_Y54QR0GZRQ4T2DFEPMHB
I have tried some that attach to the seat but I've never liked them because I have very little control of the direction.
The spray nozzles on the hose ones are also extremely handy for cleaning the toilet after use. Under-seat bidets don't do that.
Dude - I'm so sorry you went through that at such a young age. That is bound to mess anyone up and it will likely be with you forever.
I was in my early 20s when I was introduced to the Pentecostal Holiness churches in my area and while there were some really nice aspects of it, the deeper I got into it, the more disturbing it became. Nothing as extreme as what you went though....not even close and it's been hard to sort it all out for me.
Getting away from that church and trying to find a healthier relationship with God has been one of the best decisions I made.
I found this book Good Goats: Healing our Image of God to be quite helpful. It addresses a lot of the issues I had with all the imagery around God from the bible and helped me grow and heal. Perhaps you'll find it helpful too.
There are many other resources out there so keep looking.
This review has a table on pg 41 (PDF pg 3) with 440+ people measured, which seems like a good start.
I'm certainly in favor of more rigorous scientific study about transgender people, and particularly MtF people attracted to females, so I'm heartened that you agree on its importance.
That’s not OP’s problem. They’re an essential worker and can’t just sit at home.
And it’s not “incredibly preventable”. If it was there wouldn’t be a quarantine. People are also worried about the economy. This is just the beginning if these state shut downs continue.
I'm not sure which point your looking for clarification on so I'm starting with this but let me know if it's not the right one.

People who read have this funny habit of learning things. You should give it a try some time, you might learn something, too.
Having started s business twice, I think you are right to be hesitant.
But the rewards are amazing. As a specialist programmer you can make a good living performing meaningful work for a select few clients. You can gain in control of your life and choose what you want to do. But you have to bear the risks.
I suggest you arm yourself with knowledge.
I recommend reading Richard Branson's autobiographies. His concepts of minimizing the consequences of failure states (the downside) is useful. His take on branding is extraordinary.
The book "Running Lean" about software product development is best of breed. While you may not want to develop a software product (crazy high risk), but the concept of optimization for learning is a good one.
You can do it. It is a question of how many times you will fall on your ass before you do. Is the journey worth it? Only you can say.
u/eye4eye98 give the bemyeyes app a shot. Volunteers get a video xallf ROM you and help with anything from color matching your clothes, to counting money, to reading signs and anything else you need.
Seems like everything you write after the comma is either your own opinion or some internet talking points you've picked up. Please don't project, as i disagree with literally every single thing you've listed. Like single mothers? Are you for real?
If you believe that the work of someone posting to IG for a living is the same as a doctor, then that's up to you. But we'll take a cut of that NordVPN money and finance another med students scholarship.
My grandparents live on an island and therefore only go grocery shopping every month or so. My grandpa eats a half a banana with oatmeal everyday. He uses this thing in the fridge to keep the bananas fresh between trips to town and they really do keep well. If you like just eating plain old bananas this is the way to go.

>When you have scientists, who are in their very nature probably the most rational of us all, for the first time since forever, 'officially', and very openly, choose a side, I think its safe to say that one side is very sadly just... wrong.

Wow.

>Google the words 'Uncircumcised Penis United States' and you will learn women find it repulsize
Literally the first article that came up when i googled it is this one.
And in the very same article they write
>Approximately 50% of men are “uncut,” which is really how the penis is meant to be in the first place (not many men outside the United States are circumcised).
>So when all is said and done, you (and your partner) are actually likely to have much better sex with a penis that is uncircumcised
so your tip to just "google" it doesnt hold much value, since the very first page completly negates what you said.
>Reddit then, obviously, is mostly non-American.
Reddit receives the most traffic from America with ~54.6%

At the end of the day noone will give a shit if you are circumcised or not. Its 100% personal preference for both men and women.
>And I can't just "stop eating" or "start doing sports" I am just so exhausted, all the time. I want to have a better body, and wish it was as easy as a lot of people tell me.
There is no easy way to do it. Eat less to lose fat and work out to gain muscle. That's the short and long of it.
https://cronometer.com helped me track my food intake a ton.
Clue openly sells your personal data to major corporations, and asks for money for "newsletters", despite having tons of private investment. There are better apps that don't do that, and keep your data privacy at the forefront. An open source suggestion is drip.

I highly recommend you start early. Many people say that it should be an ongoing conversation, but many just can’t ever find the time to start. It also was not so easy for us, but we tried. However a great book was recommended to me and I used it to start the conversation with my daughter. It’s It’s Not The Stork My daughters best friend got her period at the beginning of 4th grade and mine was quite concerned, she knew what they were as we had talked, she saw me using pads etc. But this book was great to start all kinds of discussions.
That is freaking ridiculous man. You need a wireless power remote.
I am so sorry for your loss. Forgive the assholes who are simply ignorant to this kind of pain (f you can.
I read a book a few years ago (after watching the doc of the same name) that so aptly expressed this kind of loss (specifically a beloved parrot) that I found it very healing and helpful.

Well said, I try to always be kind and it is hard at times. I actually mirror what OP said exactly, except that I am still in those discord communities and am part of the leadership.
For everyone who is beaten down there's a wonderful book I just finished that reminded me of the kindness we all have. Humankind by Rutger Bregman he goes through many important moments of our history and gives insight on how kindness actually won the day.
If you have android get Lock Me Out (it's an app that can lock you out from any number of apps of your choice—there are a couple of modes—and you can set a time for when you're locked out. It also prevents you from changing the time so you can't cheat (look through the settings and pull all the stops))
Try Paranoid, it gives a list of every app that has camera access, or microphone, etc, a whole list of permissions:

Let's not forget the family story related to that moment, and of course, how this can only be accomomplished by Nord VPN, a VPN service that provides you a secure, encrypted tunnel for online traffic to flow. Nobody can see through the tunnel and get their hands on your internet data. NordVPN is the best VPN if you’re looking for a peace of mind when you use public Wi-Fi, access personal and work accounts on the road, or want to keep your browsing history to yourself.
Hey can I interest you into some raycon earbuds? NordVPN? Dashlane? Squarespace? Manscape? Audible? Squarespace? Ridge wallets?
Everyone has a Pateron and a fucking 3 min ad read at the front of their videos clearly reading some copy. I get people wanna make money but if you have a pateron and you take sponsors and you had 4 mid roll ads you are taking the piss
Yeah, sorry!
One thing I learned about writing (specifically from Stephen King’s book “On Writing”), is that people tend to add too many filler words. If it’s not a necessary detail to get your point across, don’t write it. A squat is a squat. You don’t have to feel like your censoring yourself, if you look at it as though it’s not a necessary detail in the story you’re trying to express, and in the end, it also helps you be more aware of how our language could effect others.
Looking at it this way, as a writing technique, has helped me feel like it’s less social homework and more of a simpler and easier way to communicate universally.
PS - any luck with your sex toy issue?
For learning C, get the book "The C Programming Language" aka K&R C.
It does a pretty good job of explaining what's going on.
Programming is built on layers and layers of terminology and abstraction. It takes time to learn. These days, most people start with something like Python and move down to C, which is what I'd recommend.
This article on Sociopathy vs Psychopathy will hopefully elucidate my point even further.

Counterpoint in Aussie; Black Friday. True, she's a fair way back now when it happened, but still fresh in folks mind that live in the area. Guarantee that near all round there would hear those two words and the first thing that would come to mind ain't a cheap TV.

Bois if your mobile (read as android) look up Youtube Vanced it's quite possibly the best thing ever, it stops all ads. It also has some beat features where it will auto skip intros/outros and in-video ad spots, it's pretty neat.
The five minutes I spent installing it have probably saved me a few hours of ad playtime.
I'm in the same boat. Delete version 7 and download version 6 from their website. Visit this link and scroll all the way down for older versions.

Dear Reddit:
I am so sick of this type of ignorant statement being up-voted. Please read 'Basic Economics' by Thomas Sowell.
It is only 635 pages, and then we can get back to talking about these types of topics like rational actors.
There is a book named The Normal One, and it speaks to this very problem. OP, I am sorry you had to deal with this growing up. It’s not easy.
I prefer Mullvad VPN. All you get is a randomly generated account number, and you can use bitcoin and similarly anonymous payments. I think you can just mail them cash and a note of your account number, IIRC. No logs as well.
They're also the provider that Mozilla uses for their VPN service, and Mozilla have a pretty good track record for privacy rights.
I've been using them for a few years now and have never had any issues.
Firefox, uBlock Origin (also available as an add-on for Firefox on Android), DuckDuckGo, Mullvad, and maybe a Pi-hole makes for a solid setup.
Big hugs your way! If I may jump to strategies, I think it’d be very helpful for him if you could tell him what would you like him to do that meant comfort for you. So my wife is 5", petite (less so after kids), but has larger breasts than you do. Here's how she makes it work;
Shop at used/resale stores if you have one in your area. There's enough variety in brands that you can usually find something that fits well. Just shop there regularly, since the inventory changes so frequently.
Get your bras from Adoreme.com (on recommendation from a friend), and once she found the right size, was happy enough with them. shoutout to /r/abrathatfits
This sports bra has support. She can jump in it, and it literally changed her life because she can work out again. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DFXMTBZ
They say that you get what you pay for. She likes Lululemon bras too. I'm not sure if it's the psychological factor or if they're really that different, but she's more confident since getting them. I don't know if she notices the difference, but I do.
Finally, figure out how to use this to your advantage. There's always a silver lining, try not to get so caught up in the negatives that you lose sight of potential positives.
Or go get a reduction. It might be easier, if it's affordable.
Oh, sorry, you thought you were making valid points. I believe that the not my president statement started with Obama.
That is proof that "Your side" was doing wrong. Not the "Dems" as you put it. Gaslighting and projection is a very common thing though from the current Idiot in Chief.
That came out in 2008, so you should really check your history. What dem actions were extreme that you're talking about here?
If you're going to try and make these grandiose statements, at least have the good grace to back them up, because you saying that I didn't invalidate it means you are correct. It doesn't. You lying doesn't need me to fact check it, but when I can be bothered, it's very easy, just not worth the effort because you are too far gone to consider that you might be wrong. Might is an understatement here, you're so far past wrong it's comical.
Tomi Lauren was the one stating how you lot would be peaceful if the good guys lost, and the Democrats would be rioting when the Idiot in Chief won. How funny is that?
So, I'll say it again, "You lost, get over it" ;)
As a guy who has a bidet, because they are amazing. I purchased this one. If you want to save some money. It has a selector for booty, vagine, and nozzle clean. Plus ability for warm water.
*Full disclosure, the water pressure can be powerful (if anyone else buys this model), so ease the water pressure or you'll cut your butthole in half.
I got the Toto Washlet C100. I did a decent amount of research for all the features I was looking for and it seemed to be the best choice. I’ve also found this exact bidet seat listed at different prices on multiple sites (I got mine cheaper than the link). There are even some “used” ones for sale but are still in the box and unopened.
My biggest piece of advice is to make sure it will be compatible with your bathroom set up and to check multiple sites for the best price.
This list helped me narrow down what features I wanted and how much I was willing to spend. Hope that helps!
Android-only, as I don't know any solid iOS alternative (maybe Habitica): I love the free, open-source Loop - Habit Tracker, which sort of sticks to you, actually. You set a habit ("Share something interesting with someone" or whatever text you want to put), set a desired frequency, and pick a time for it to fire a notification to remind you, and it'll pop up in your status bar accordingly. It also has beautiful widgets that you can set on your home screen for easy marking of habits.
Come to think of it, one daily habit of mine is a positive affirmation to myself about something, anything (which I frankly have trouble filling; I'm trying to rewire my brain after years of habitual self-punishment, I suppose). Perhaps that might be something you might like to throw in there too, if this activity doesn't come naturally to you already.
Did you at least use a VPN? Def get a good VPN subscription for the future (I use NordVPN).
Also I'm pretty sure if you arent caught distributing cp you will likely be okay. Plenty of people click things without knowing.
Back when I worked out of a work truck I got one of these so I could have hot meals in the winter.
There are collar and leash accessories owners can get to help people know any precautions to take before approaching. Something like this.
This book helped turned my thinking around. The world is in a better place than we know and that gives me hope to live on. Much love OP <3

I would deffinitely tell the authorities about this threat in the courtroom, and about it playing on your mind and causing concern now that you have a young child with him being out soon (esp with his past violence when you were pregnant) - maybe they can set out some preventative measures to ensure your safety and put your mind at ease.
Edit/Update: You should also invest in some security surveillance like Ring - or if that's too expensive, there are some surveillance apps on the google play store that only require you to have an old Android phone (to use as the camera). One that springs to mind is Alfred but there are many others to choose from (not sure about IOS, but I think there would be similar apps).
Maybe even check out r/homedefense for further advice.
Luck is actually the biggest determinate of success, in a lot of ways. There is a great book on the subject by Robert Frank.
As a fellow gay person I'm sick of it too. There does need to be a fightback, but there's no real leader in the fight against the loud, screaming pitchfork wielding left wing mob.
For anyone reading this comment I recommend reading this book which explains in a little more detail what OP is sort of referring to.
For the people telling him time heals everything, you're wrong.
There is a book that I think would be very helpful, as I'm dealing with a heavy loss this year. here it is
The long and the short of it is that the market place is either very crowded or small. Pick one.
Software is about changing peoples' work flows, and it is very easy to make something that will get considerable market resistance, even though it is better, or be a solution in search of a problem.
Worst of all, development usually must be very advanced before you get access to feedback from early adopters, which represents a vast investment of resources only to rework the concept.
Read Running Lean! It spells out the risks very well and attempts to work around them.
You want to diversify your income, and hopefully that is scalable, so you can grow your resources; because everyone can bring a product to market with unlimited funds. Unfortunately almost every software start up runs out of money before they get enough income to pay the bills.
I'm super allergic to cats, however that won't stop me from rubbing my face all over them lol. The allergy meds really don't work for me, but my bf found Purina LiveClear aaaaand it's doing the lords work. Honestly, I was fine with suffering for the rest of my life because I love my bf and ~his~ our cat.
Pi-hole can do that by blocking DNS queries to known ad servers. However, its effectiveness is decreasing with advertisers placing ads on the same domains as the content which makes blocking only the ads without affecting content impossible. For example, it cannot block ads from Youtube.
Adding to this, as /u/SnapCboi mentioned the raspberry: I combine uBlock on the computer with a PiHole. You install this on a Raspberry Pi and use it as your DNS. That way, it blocks ads also for phones and tablets as long as you are in your home WiFi. It's a bliss, also helps against those pesky in-app advertisements.
I'm in a similar situation, sort of. After highschool everybody I knew just stopped contacting me and since I didn't immediately go to college I'm in limbo. No friends, shit job, no one to hang out with on Saturday. It really gets to you if you let it. But just realize that this is a temporary phase of your life. You're only 18 so like your life isn't over yet. You're not going to be an outsider for the rest of your life even if you think you will. If you're in college maybe try joining clubs that focus on history and philosophy. A lot of people are interested in it but you just need to find them. If you're not in college you got to put the effort in. I heard good things about meetup.com. There's probably other resources but right now I'm not really focused on making new friends. If everyone in your area sucks, move somewhere else when you can.
You're in a tight spot and it sucks. But just know that most people don't have a bunch of friends at their command to hang out with and talk to at all times. Most people lose a lot of their friends after college. If you have 1 or 2 REAL friends, consider yourself lucky. Anyways, good luck.
About 8 years ago I was in a very similar situation. Graduated college, got a job in another state where I didn't know anybody, ect. Here's what I recommend. Find related to your interest. If you like video games look for local video game tournaments. Do you like to work out? Cool join a regular fitness class. Is cooking something you've always wanted to learn to do? Now's a great time to sign up for a cooking class. You get the idea.
Social clubs are also a great way to meet people. If there are groups like Events and Adventures (which was big where I lived) you can look in to signing up for those. If there are not look at sites like MeetUp.com and try to find something that interest you.
If you're on Android, check out the rif is fun app. It's a third party app through which you can access reddit. I've been using it for at least 5 years and it's never disappointed me.
Project Gutenberg has TONS of free online ebooks you can download - a lot of philosophy stuff. I'd also recommend "Meditations" by Marcus Aurelius (on the website). A very practical guide to living.
The definition of emoticon always includes a combination of keyboard characters such as :-). ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ is a combination of keyboard characters. Some words are more than the sum of their individual parts. "Comeuppance," for example, doesn't mean "something that comes up." "Emoticon" doesn't necessarily mean "an image file depicting an emotion."
Ok, quick Google search has revealed:
> Reddit karma is like a user's score, totaling their amount of upvotes against their downvotes. It has a few practical benefits—namely, allowing you to start your own subreddit and join some exclusive communities—but mostly it's about reputation.
From this article on Zapier.com seems to be the consensus.
Try todoist.com, it's free and I found it very helpful during the pandemic to keep me focused on accomplishing tasks daily. I don't use the calendar, I just keep a rolling list of everything that needs to be done, and work at it every day. Some days it has gotten daunting, if there are unexpected issues it can pile up to 10 active tasks and I'll have a day or 2 of anxiety feeling like not enough is being done. But as long as I add absolutely everything to it, no matter how small, it keeps the momentum goin. Even if I do some small task, after the fact I will add it and mark it done anyway, just to give myself credit.
Good luck, and if you can't make it work, at this point going back to the office is probably an option. Unless you feel like you're on the verge of being fired already, you could try just mentioning that you'd like to come back because you feel more productive in the office. You would probably be the golden child of middle management if you did that, LOL.
I know this is a sincere personal story, but it sounds like a plug for Grammarly, which is despicable for someone as intelligent as I imagine you are.
Speaking of intelligence: did you know that 65% of the personal informations you store in your laptop are 100% stolen by greedy corporate thugs? To prevent this from happening use NordVPN on . To get a discount use promocode "imlonely10" to get 10% off your first monthly subscription.
Why don't you use Splitwise? It's available for both ios and android, you can split your bills with get with ease using the all and she will get notifications and she will know exactly how much she owes you as you can keep reminding her about the balance so she knows that she owes you money all the time. That's better than this unorganized mess that you are in.

The only thing you should be planning is a flashmob breakup. She wants something flashy? A rendition of Celo Greens “FU” with a ton of your friends dancing around should do it. The marriage is about the couple, not the ring not the wedding. She is putting a price tag on your love. When we were looking at rings I wanted anything but a diamond, my husband insisted so I have one, a vintage reused ring that I love because he gave it to me. I would have said yes with a ring pop.
You are hilarious. I feel for you too. First I want to say that you’ve handled it really well and no one should be faulting you for the way you feel regardless of how they feel about dogs. You can hate a particular dog and still love dogs. This applies to a lot of things in life. But it doesn’t sound like you hate him, you are just over him.
Second thing, no one should be faulting Jude for maintaining his personal autonomy. Dogs do not exist to do whatever we want them to do. They can assert that they don’t want to be touched or that they don’t want to interact with children.
Together this means you, Jude and the kids keeping crossing each other’s boundaries. I would suggest establishing a Jude only zone. Like in the corner of the living room with some of those fancy pens or kennels
Hijacking this for visibility, but Apple has the feature that alerted OP to the tracker specifically to combat this. It detects any AirTags that aren't registered to you that have been moving with you, and will alert you.
Apple has also developed an app for Androids called Tracker Detect that detects AirTags, in case you don't have an iPhone! It works a little differently, but it can keep you safe. You can download it from the Google Play store. Stay safe!
Put all of the things that you have to make food with, add it into any app that can help you decide what to make, and then whichever is the same dish as your favorite number.
This is what I do to get the whole process over and done with and moving back to what's on my mind.
The app I use is all recipe dinner spinner
You can find it here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.allrecipes.spinner.free
I have heard of couple where they track each other all day and there is app that when you arrive home they get a notifications. You can add places like market. Husband is in market you message him. Bring chocolate, pasta and whine for dinner. Wife arrives to school to get the kids. The kids are going to the cinema without permision... Etc... They use apps like this one. Life360
Most of time they use this app in a non toxic way. Some people says: "if you had nothing to hide why are you afraid of share info with your patner".
I dont think i need to do it. I dont like be controlled or control people. But for some people are usefull and enjoy the features that bring this app in a non toxic relationship.
Ps: i never use it and i think i shouldnt use it.
I can deal with the 30 second unskippable adds all day long but I swear to God that if I get another 2 hour political add that you can skip while I'm cleaning in another room I'm going to flip my shit. Between all the adds that Youtube puts on a 5 minute video followed by 2 minutes of someone pushing SquareSpace or ExpressVPN It is very hard to keep an interest in them.
Your zodiac sign or star sign is the inscription of the sun where you were born. Your zodiac sign, which has a strong effect on your character and feelings, is a powerful word to understand your relationship. Of course, your sign can take you to an incredible life.

I am not a lawyer, but I am sure evidence of someone saying something they did is good enough to prove they did it, if this is not true then I guess I am sorry. You can try a background video recorder app and use it as a last resort of evidence. Here is one for android.

Exactly this. Paying off all of these debts slowly will rebuild credit history.
With an account as large as $1.3 million you could potentially be a client to major hedge funds, the sorts of people who even pulled off +20% yearly yields during the 2009 crash.
u/chickenwing0504 .. I'm sorry but https://www.personalcapital.com/blog/retirement-planning/can-you-retire-with-a-million-dollars/ - retiring after grad school will last you an estimated 19 years and that assumes rampant inflation doesn't devalue that $1.3 million even further. Expect to work! And before you go into grad school, make sure it actually increases your earning power enough to offset the 2-5 years you aren't working. The general population is over-educated and underpaid, and a big part of the problem is too many people are getting degrees in what they're good at or passionate about and not in what pays well. The whole system sucks but none of this is simple.
They know it is part of the Coronavirus family because of how it looks and how it operates. It is similar to but not exactly the same as the Coronaviruses we already have in international "libraries" for microbiologists to study. The Science Vs Podcast- heavily dedicated to comparing popular beliefs and the science which supports or doesnt support them- has covered this. Their whole series on the Coronavirus has been great so far but the citations from this episode (and the information the episode itself presents) is especially relevant.
>That's NOT the definition of sanity!
It literally is, it's right here:
https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/sanity
You are now just denying blatant fact. "Am I wrong? No it's the Dictionary that is out of touch!"
>insanity noun the state of being seriously mentally ill; madness. extreme foolishness or irrationality.
Lol, we went over this, I said not sane, not insane (insane is a separate issue) we just covered the definition of sanity above:
>the state of having a healthy mind and not being mentally ill
Hence if you have a mental illness you are not sane, sorry you can't accept facts.
A good first step is to better understand what people are talking about. Here is a course I personally very helpful for getting a lay of the land: https://www.thegreatcourses.com/courses/financial-literacy-finding-your-way-in-the-financial-markets
(Audio version is quite a bit cheaper.)
Network level ad blocker. Make it ALL go away. It's bizarre how out of touch I feel sometimes with not watching broadcast or cable TV. The most Bloomberg stuff I've seen has been his mailers as I go to put them in the recycling bin.
Some helpful ideas:
1.) If you use Firefox with Facebook Container, uBlock origin, and Decentraleyes then it will be much harder for you to receive targeted ads. It will also reduce the number of ads you see overall when online. Political ads are targeted ads, so this is surprisingly effective.
2.) If you want more ad protection, you can setup/install a Raspberry Pi-Hole (https://pi-hole.net/). This basically 'dead heads' requests for ads, so they never get served to ANY of the devices on your network.
Dating apps are only for hooking up. Look at r/Tinder. There are 2 rules for success.
That's not to say it's impossible to find a good match but finding a good match on an app that's primary purpose is getting laid takes a ton of time, a ton of patience and a tone of resilience to rejection.
If you really want a relationship, join a real dating site where the goal is supposed to be finding a relationship. I will repeat, that's not what the apps are for. Try something along the lines like match.com.
Or find one that is specific to some interest of yours so that the people there have something in common. I'm sure there's one specific to gym rats by now (that is not meant as a derogatory term in any way, it's just easiest way to describe the interest(s) you mentioned).
well i guess limiting the search to my criteria/background helped as well, i.e. grad school, same home country, languages etc. and not taking rejections personally
i used other sites before like match.com , people invest more attention if they pay for it
I gave up on online dating over 20 years ago before any of these apps were even a thing. In my early 20's I signed up for match.com. I'm average looking and at that time took very good care of myself, was in good shape and doing very well career-wise. I matched with a girl, back then very few people had their picture on their profile. We emailed and IMed for a few weeks then exchanged photos. She was very overweight and not particularly attractive but she seemed nice and I was definitely interested in taking her out and getting to know her. She ghosted me as soon as I sent my picture. I'm far from hideous or anything. She must have been waiting for a hunk to give her some attention and then dump or cheat on her. I cancelled my account and stuck to meeting people in person after that.
Ha! Right?!! For anyone who hasn’t checked out meetup, it’s a plethora of possibilities, usually including “shy person” groups. Plus you can start your own... fairly easy... but a bit harder to do right. https://meetup.com/
I tried to start a madlib group without reading up on rules and expectations, eg, meet people at the door / in front... or have a sign. Also, i never thought madlibs could be boring. Turns out that, if you do them with anyone who lacks imagination, it’s like eating cardboard.
I've used NordVPN and ExpressVPN, and they both had phone apps (I use Android, but I'd guess they have Ios as well. Both allowed 5 seats IIRC, so you can do your phone and computer/tablet too. Express can also be installed on a router, which can cover all your house Wifi.
Unless you’re doing something fancy like running one through a server, it’s as simple as signing up to a service and opening an app.
The app basically funnels all your internet traffic through a en encrypted third party server, so your own isp etc won’t be able to see what you’re doing online. You can also pick a server in a different country so that your device will behave as if you are accessing the internet from that country. I use one of the more common subscription services, ExpressVPN but have no idea if it’s one of the better ones. It’s just basically a convenient way for me to watch Netflix from other countries.
Write one true sentence:
Sometimes when I was starting a new story and I could not get it going, I would sit in front of the fire and squeeze the peel of the little oranges into the edge of the flame and watch the sputter of blue that they made. I would stand and look out over the roofs of Paris and think, "Do not worry. You have always written before and you will write now. All you have to do is write one true sentence. Write the truest sentence that you know." So finally I would write one true sentence, and then go on from there. It was easy then because there was always one true sentence that I knew or had seen or had heard someone say. If I started to write elaborately, or like someone introducing or presenting something, I found that I could cut that scrollwork or ornament out and throw it away and start with the first true simple declarative sentence I had written.

Solution: You use a DEBIT Visa or MasterCard in the kid's name!
How to here:
Revolut does this: They have kid debit cards and the kids can ask to earn money by gardening or washing cars, or anything else. Kid needs money? Kid works for it. And parents get a message for every single transaction!
As I am a poor bastard, here my link: https://revolut.com/referral/pietroe9on!DEC1AR
