An email I send to every person that asks me about investing and where to get started.
Seeking Alpha app (great place to read articles from investors, entrepreneurs and experts in the field):

PROS:
Very informative individuals with some willing to mentor you if they see you don't know much about a sector or company.
CONS:
More, "prestigious" then some other sources so some might belittle or poo poo your questions as if you're a dumb idiot (can get annoying). The flip side of things I guess for tipping toe with the knowledgeable.
TD Ameritrade App very well known broker for investing into almost any company you can think of:
https://www.tdameritrade.com/tools-and-platforms/mobile-trading.page
PROS:
Has almost any company you'd want to invest into.
Has a money simulator on the app where you can practice investing with fake money.
CONS:
Expensive in regards to fees ($10 to buy or sell shares).
A nightmare of buttons, charts and technical analysis. Robinhood is too cold on this - TD is a black hole of numbers....
Robinhood App:
PROS:
No fees to invest in any company (unlike other brokers). Free to transfer money in and out of your account.
CONS:
Selling your shares typically takes 3 business days to finalize they're soon going to change this but there's a waiting line to have the daily trader feature, "unlocked." You can only move up in line if you invite friends. The graphs have something to be desired (not exactly - "technical"). Limited companies to invest in (no OTC for example). TD has them harshly beat here in my honest opinion.
Stockmobi OTC App:
PROS:
Shows a ranked list of tickers (i.e. companies) with the most popularity among investors daily.
CONS:
Still have to go to Wikipedia (I recommend the app btw) to find what the company does as tickers / news feed the app provides rarely reveals that to get me started.
iHub App:
(IOS) https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/ihub/id421549932?mt=8
(Android) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.advfn.android.ihubmobile&hl=en
PROS:
The wild west of the investing world. You can find all the rumors, gossip and people who've monitored a company from its inception here. Most are willing to give you the information if you ask and some have invested for decades.
CONS:
The whiners (yes the moderators don't get rid of them), haters (because their company tanked in the same sector as yours) and scammers are here (try to get you to buy or sell shares) - you've been warned.
Wikipedia App: (IOS) https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wikipedia-mobile/id324715238?mt=8
(Android) https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.wikipedia&hl=en
PROS:
Quick and easy way to look into a company.
CONS:
You will have the tendency to not want to do any more DD (this is far too little to do on a sector).
OTC Markets.com website: http://www.otcmarkets.com/home
PROS:
Great way to look at the financials of a company.
CONS:
Not every company is on here but no service is perfect in this regard (i.e. Yahoo finance, Google finance, ect.).
