It's even easier to let Mixplorer be the server.
In Mixplorer menu, choose Servers... Start FTP Server. The notification will show you the URL you need to enter in Windows Explorer. You can change what folder is shared and stop the FTP server from the notification buttons.
In Windows Explorer, navigate to the ftp://address:port shown in the Mixplorer notification and drag/drop files like normal.
Mixplorer has a toggle FTP server widget that makes this even easier.
SolidExplorer is similar with the Solid Explorer FTP Server plugin.
I use the FTP server with Solid Explorer. Works great imo.
I use the app Solid Explorer to establish the FTP server on the Android Device. You will need to install the free Solid Explorer FTP Server plugin, in addition to the Solid Explorer app. Yes, you have to manually enable FTP, but the plugin offers the option to put a shortcut on your desktop to make it easy: Solid Explorer > Menu > FTP Server > 3-dot menu > Create Shortcut. Once that is set up, you can tap the shortcut and hit "Activate", which is quite convenient.
Solid Explorer has a FTP server plugin which you can find here and this allows similar functionality to the remote server that ES File explorer has.
Phone-to-computer: you need to make a network share and then add it as a new "cloud" connection (choose LAN/SMB connection type) in Solid.
Computer-to-phone: you need the separate FTP plugin: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.solidexplorer.plugins.ftpserver
As far as I know, this cannot be accomplished without internet. With internet, you will need to install the ftp plugin, lanuch the ftp server (within solid explorer) and connect to the IP address it provides on the other device (via solid explorer). You should then see the other devices file system, and be able to copy to/from it.
Here's the plug in:

>You can be mad at me but, as I transfer files from/to PC and I don't want these shady sticky 3rd-party apps to be installed on my PC, that's what I found to avoid installing 3rd-party software on my PC.
There a hope, exist still for humanity. If it's data transfer between 2 devices, nothing beats p2p connection via ftp (file transfer protocol) method. No file size and type limitation, no 3rd party UI, or internet connection need. Not even setting up another executable file on client devices. Best of all, the interface is your PC native file explorer or Phones file browser :P
Only hassle is having a ftp capable file browser on your phone.
*Not gonna recomended ads bloat Es explorer.
*Solid Explorer has their additional FTP plugin
*MiX have it natively, for free on XDA site
Edit: Syncthing color me intrigue for file watcher and sync feature. Been waiting such native feature, implemented this way. Thanks!
Don't forget, if you want to use your copy of Solid Explorer as an FTP server (that is, wirelessly send files to your phone from your computer), you need the free FTP Plugin by the Solid Explorer developer: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.solidexplorer.plugins.ftpserver&hl=en
This tutorial shows how to mount Google Drive as a virtual storage device. It does, however, require Solid Explorer which costs $1.99. In my opinion, it's definitely worth the price, but it's up to you to decide.
>The system will not be able to see the local virtual storage since the mounting is done at an application level and not at system level, but it can still be very handy.
My idea to get around this limitation would be download the free FTP-Server app for Solid Explorer and let the IP webcam (app?) record to the FTP-Server (on localhost:port), which shares the Google Drive space.
I can't guarantee that this solution works. If your connection or the phone is too weak to process the video data, this won't work. This also doesn't take the deletion of old material into account.
Hi, bluetooth transfer is handled using the share action only. If you want to browse the folders on your Android device, try the FTP Server plugin. However, this server runs only on WiFi network.
It doesn't support that out of the box, but you can install the FTP server plugin to do that.
In case anyone needs a link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.solidexplorer.plugins.ftpserver
I second MiXplorer, but agree that hosting via Play would be more convenient.
Here's the direct link to XDA, where the project lives. You can also download and/or manage updates to it from the XDA Labs app.
To use WiFi file transfer, tap the overflow icon and pick Servers - you can chose between FTP, HTTP, and TCP as the protocol which is a nice touch.
All of that said, I could be tempted away to Solid Explorer and its fingerprint-secured encryption if it decided to clone the file transfer stuff from MiX.
EDIT There IS a Solid Explorer plugin for FTP transfer! Here it is. No HTTP or TCP options, but this is more than enough to do what you're looking for.
It's a plugin, but it's available.

It is now a plugin module like the chromecast feature. You can install it here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.solidexplorer.plugins.ftpserver
Use the free FTP server Plugin.

Yeah. It got spun off into a plugin with the latest version, but it works fine.
Solid Explorer has a separate FTP plug-in you can download. Use that on phone and connect to it using TV

lots of options depending on how you want to actually do it
Solid Explorer FTP to access your phone's storage like any other FTP service
Join for sending files any time
Portal to transfer when at the PC
Send yourself the file on Telegram or WhatsApp or whatever other messenger service
Or send myself whatever on Telegram if I want access anywhere
Well the bot fucked it, so here is the second link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.solidexplorer.plugins.ftpserver
Are you talking about FTP feature of Solid file explorer ? If yes, then here is the guide.
Solid explorer has plug in app for FTP server functionality. Install it. Restart solid file explorer.
Swipe from left & scroll down to bottom. You will see FTP server. Click on it & Select start. You will see server adress. Something like " ftp://192.168......."
You know about this 2 steps. Now next steps are ,
Now don't open that ftp url in browser , Instead of that OPEN IT IN MY COMPUTER.
Open My computer on your PC. Enter that ftp server url in adress bar. Type it here and click enter. You will see all files from your mobile.
Now if you want to copy any files to your mobile , Just select your file , copy it & Paste it in any folder of your mobile storage. Just like you use copy paste files in windows.
I've never tried it, but I believe this plugin is supposed to accomplish this.

You need the free Solid Explorer FTP Server plugin for that.
It's actually a free plugin, one of the few things that isn't an extra IAP.
I use the FTP plugin for Solid and just browse my phone storage from any other device as if it's a normal folder
I didn't either.
here's the link:

I haven't tried it, but the Solid Explorer FTP Server Plugin is supposed to allow this.

It is a free add-on you need to install. The screenshots should be able to give you an idea on how easy it is.
> You need to download additional plugins

You have to install the Solid Explorer FTP Server plugin
But it does support ftp server: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=pl.solidexplorer.plugins.ftpserver
