I went out of my way to be as polite and respectful as possible. I would urge you to re-read my comment with an eye for phrases like "with respect" and "please". It was an attemot to help you. You did, after all, request that. If you insist on seeing my comment as anything but an attemot to address your concerns, there is nothing I can do to convince you otherwise.
> I know my bag, I know where my phone is. it moves around. you clearly don't understand the process of choosing and buying a bag. it is not as simple as you think. there is no one perfect bag.
Ma'am, I'm a photographer. I spend weeks or months choosing the best bags I can find, and hours reconfiguring them for my needs. I own literally dozens of bags and they are so use-specific that I own four types of bags just for batteries, three types just for cables, two types for displays, five types for cameras bodies, three types for lenses, etc, and each has a different use case. I apply the same logic to selecting laptop bags, backpacks, briefcases, and so on. With respect to your plight, I believe I can say with certainty that I know more about the process of selecting the right bag for the job than you. You may wish to avoid assumptions about what other people do and don't know when asking for help.
Of course there's no perfect bag. There is nothing in my comment that implied there was. You have to decide if a phone pocket is an important feature to you it not. Since you didn't include any details of your bag requirements, I didn't address them. If buying a bag with a phone pocket somehow causes you another problem, perhaps your should have elaborated upon that point. But you didn't, so I couldn't address it. Regardless, the women's bag industry has known about smartphones for over a decade and there are plenty of options on the market today that include pockets specifically designed for smartphones. It's up to you which features you want to prioritize over that. That is, after all, one of the factors of bag selection.
> my phone is not sitting on a velvet cushion waiting for me to pluck it up easily. even if it is in a special pocket, I cannot realistically hold onto just the sides to lift it out as though it were computer expansion card, because there are different angles to consider and I have to be quick so as the caller doesn't hang up.
Don't hold it by just the sides. Hold it by the top. Please look at your phone the next time you receive a call. You will notice that the answer/reject controls are near the bottom. If your phone is on a special pocket that holds it vertically, as is often the case in a purse or backpack (you haven't specified bag type), you can pinch the top portion of the screen to grab it. This area of the screen is nowhere near the answer/reject controls. You can then remove your phone by grabbing it this way and your problem is solved.
> I might have to use some force to get it out which means grabbing it firmly. 2 fingers nimbly touching the edges will not do. I am probably not as strong as you.
You shouldn't need a significant amount of finger strength to remove a phone from a pocket. If you do, the pocket is too small/tight and you need a different bag because the pocket is not supposed to put that much pressure on your phone.
> if I have to grab it by the corner and my thumb is resting on the reject call 'button', then all it takes is for the phone to rotate slightly and my thumb will move it outside the little circle that apears. i tested it today. it is ridiculously easy. if my screen didn't turn on as soon as the call started, it wouldn't be an issue. it might make more sense if i have to press the home button first.
See my comments above regarding where to grab your phone so this is not an issue. If you're grabbing a bottom corner, you're grabbing the wrong end of the phone. Grab the other end and your problem is solved.
> I am right handed, which means my phone goes to my right ear, which means my screen need to be upright in my palm which means when i go to put it in my pocket, the screen faces inwards, which means the place where my thumb naturally grabs is the bottom right hand corner, which is conveniently where the reject call 'button' is located. if i want to takemy phone out and not drop it and not risk a thief grabbing it, I have to hold it firmly, usually by the bottom right hand corner first and foremost.
You are overthinking this in one respect, and not thinking about it enough in another. Flip your phone around in your bag so that you're grabbing the top instead of the bottom and this problem is solved. Grab with your left hand then pass it to your right hand so it's on the right position. If you have sufficient have dexterity, you can also just grab it with your right hand then rotate it in one hand, though that depends on your comfort level when doing so. Either way, you may need to consciously code to put your phone in your pocket face up instead of down. Do it intentionally for a week and it will become second nature.

The post you linked had a completely different lock screen that slides vertically instead of horizontally. There is a reason that post is eight years old; HTC got bad feedback and changed it. Your Samsung phone doesn't work that way anymore. That post has little to do with your concern.

23,000 users isn't a lot when it comes to app popularity, but that's beside the point. An app isn't your only way to resolve this. You could change your behavior regarding phone placement and positioning. You could buy one of a myriad of cases. You could buy a new bag. You could buy a headset. You are forcing artificial restrictions upon yourself. That is your choice. Recognize that and move on. You can solve this problem if you choose to do so, but ultimately, it's your choice.
you do realise how patronising you sound, don't you?
I know my bag, I know where my phone is. it moves around. you clearly don't understand the process of choosing and buying a bag. it is not as simple as you think. there is no one perfect bag. I swap and change them regularly. I often know where my phone is. I look in my bag when i grab my phone. my bag is not a massive open void. my phone is not sitting on a velvet cushion waiting for me to pluck it up easily. even if it is in a special pocket, I cannot realistically hold onto just the sides to lift it out as though it were computer expansion card, because there are different angles to consider and I have to be quick so as the caller doesn't hang up. if it is wedged in to a pocket on a pair of jeans that miraculously has pockets, note that womens pockets are smaller than mens, we do not have a veritable satchel attached to our waist. I might have to use some force to get it out which means grabbing it firmly. 2 fingers nimbly touching the edges will not do. I am probably not as strong as you.
