For anyone interested, you could also use flashcard apps like the Topik Locker app to learn or practice on your some of the common Korean words and phrases at your own pace and convenience.
If you are open to using some tools to help with your vocabulary, i could recommend the TOPIK Locker app thats pretty effective in learning new Korean words daily.

For better recall, repetition is always helpful. Since you say you already know most of the common words meaning but unable to recall them, its obviously a problem with retention.
I'm currently beefing up my vocab for TOPIK so, if you would like to try it out, I'd suggest TOPIK Locker. Its a free flashcard/quiz app for practicing the common words/phrases in the Korean language and should be perfect to help you along, I think. It works offline and it keeps track of all the words you think you know.
Its designed exclusively for android platform, but you can also get it via chrome apps or even on Amazon store.

TOPIK Locker (re. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.shex.topiklocker), the Android app has helped me build my vocabulary bank immensely. Many of my friends say learning some basic Korean words in a good way to grasp the basics of whats being said, and thats what I did with the TOPIK Locker.
I'm already up to 37 words in the 'locker' for now, after nearly 3 weeks of 'playing' the quiz. I have to say the app really drills in the words in my head with all the repetition. :-)
