I have recently gotten back into Townsmen The best city builder I've found. Unique art style, no artificial wait times, it's all dependent on your supply chain/management which is fun and rewarding to implement.
There is a premium currency to instabuild if you're impatient.
I enjoy watching my townies go about their day. Each villager has their own paths throughout the day. You might be following the construction of one of your buildings and the construction worker will leave his house and either go straight to work, stopping by to get some lumber from the mill or a storehouse; or he might go to the butcher's first, then go for a pint and THEN finish your oh so important hunter's cabin.
It was just updated a couple times recently with weather and lighting to reflect the seasons and a lot of decoration elements were added. I'm going to make a protected forest with a sword in the stone!

If you want a simcity like game, there is SimCity Build It. But not only is it iap cancer, it just wasn't very fun or engaging. The graphics are well done, excellent lighting engine and everything but ultimately boring on top of the nickel and diming.
Theo Town aims for a SimCity 2000 experience. It's highly regarded in this sub. I have it installed but haven't had a chance to play it yet so I can't say more on it.
I'll paste the notes I have from an app listing app (great sentence) about my personal favorite city builder.

There is a premium currency to instabuild if you're impatient. And there's an iap to have unlimited fast forward (as opposed to just up to 60 sec at a time). Honestly, you should view that completely optional separate purchase as a tip to the devs or mentally include it as the full price. Adding 5 bucks to a game that's been consistently updated and supported for years is not unreasonable. Especially considering it only costs 2.99 in the first place.

It looks like it might be on sale for .99 at the moment.
> Ein Aufbauspiel wie SimCity fände ich nett
Vielleicht Townsmen?
Well, if it's any indication, four of the 15 have more than 10,000 installs and 800 ratings:
Three of 15 have less than 50 installs.
Townsmen, Townsmen 6, Majesty, Anno, Theotown, Pocket City, Pocket Build, My Colony, Antiquitas, Moonbase Inc and OpenTTD are some good city builders if that is what you ask for.
