We should be taking graphic videos of Russians getting killed in Ukraine from r/combatfootage and sharing them to the main Russian language social media app VKontakte. If these people saw what their future holds they would be far more likely to go apeshit and riot/protest in Russia. Maybe uploading the videos to a file sharing site and sharing links along with Google Translate descriptions could get them circulating among Russians. It's doubtful these people really know what they are heading into and I doubt they have seen any footage such as what's on CombatFootage on State TV.
This is a powerful video and I hope it can be spread far and wide. Vkontakte is the largest Russian speaking social media app. If anyone has time download the app, create a profile, and share this to it. You can use Google Translate to convert comments to Russian so you can post comments there. You may not be able to get this video seen easily but you can also share a link to it on your profile to various popular posts and comments on the site so it gets seen more easily. You need a phone number to sign up and you can use yours but if you do get banned you can possibly use messaging apps that give you a free phone number to sign up again.
Vkontakte is one of the main Russian language social media applications, this is the download link for Android on Google Play. You need a phone number to sign up so if you get banned for sharing certain media you may have to use various online messaging apps that give you a phone number to create another account.
If you really want to give these people media and news stories outside their state controlled media share it there. Even if they can't access due to restrictions it may get back to them via Russian language family members outside of the country. Google translate is a good way to convert English to Russian for your posts. It's not perfect but I'm sure it's effective enough to get your point across.
I suggest using videos from a sub like r/combatfootage to share. You may have to upload the files to various file and media sharing sites but not the big named ones in case they are blocked. You could share videos of Russian destruction of civilian infrastructure in Ukraine, footage of Russian equipment being destroyed, and the humane treatment of Russian prisoners by Ukrainians. You could also share outside news sources. I think you need friends for stuff to be seen so share links and descriptions on popular posts so it gets noticed and people add you.
Well let's help change that.
Vkontakte is the main Russian language social media app. Android version on the Google Play store here. I'm hearing Russians are being cut off from all social media so you'd have to hope whatever you share gets back to people in Russia from family still able to use the app outside the country. Russia has bombarded Western social media for years now, wouldn't hurt to give it back to them.
I don't suggest sharing photos of dead Russian soldiers there, that's a bit rough for families to worry about. You could share videos from pages like r/combatfootage showing endless convoys of abandoned Russian vehicles, protests in Russia, civilians areas targeted by Russian troops, and videos of humane treatment of Russian soldiers by Ukrainians. Point out how Russia is sending young kids to die in garbage equipment to these people so it gets back to Russia. Show them how Putin cares nothing for their sons to break his strong man image.
I think you need friends to get stuff seen so you'd have to upload videos to your profile and share a link to it in more popular threads. Also you could upload videos to download and streaming pages and share links on popular posts in the hopes it gets to people back in Russia thru sharing the link with family. Don't use commons sites like YouTube, they are blocked in Russia, find some random streaming/file sharing sites that are barely used. You can use messaging apps to create new phone numbers if your profile gets banned. You can also use Google translate to translate your text for posts into Russian or translate their text to English so you can read it.

Russia has been bombarding Western social media with propaganda for years now, I think now would be an excellent time for Westerners to do the same back. Ukraine should be hammering Russian social media with videos like this in an effort to spread unrest. The main Russian social media application is Vkontakte, Google Play Android version here. If people made accounts and started started uploading videos like this to their profiles and sharing links to it on popular posts it could help protests gain traction. Showing footage of Russian soldiers being captured and abandoning their garbage equipment could help too.
There is, this is the largest Russian social media app.. You likely have to have friends to share stuff to but you can always share to your profile and share links on other content.
I think the list of platforms by time spent by younger audiences looks like this:
Also there is Odnoklassniki (OK) but it is designed for older users and is not taken seriously by the young.
VK used to be at the top but TikTok and Insta are taking over. I also saw a lot of Russian fanartists on Twitter. Besides VK's rating on Google Play is really low - 3.3 stars. People seem to hate VK's constant updates and ads. And despite having nice communities, there is a lot of "arguments" in which people just talk shit about each other or simply discriminate. So I think these are some of the reasons why people use other platforms more.
I always use the Android app for VK.com, formerly known as 'Vkontakte.ru'. VK is a social network like Facebook but with the big difference that it's users are able to upload all kinds of media, including music and videos, directly to the site for others to browse. It's the largest European social network with millions of users, so the user-created media library is rather huge. If you don't want to pay to use something like Spotify, give it a shot. I don't even use the social functions that much, but the media ones are just fantastic.
You can for example:
This is what I found when I Googled it.... It's this app... https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.vkontakte.android
I try to get friends and family to use Vk 😛
Various courtcases that they've won in Russia. Under license by several major music studios. >As of November 2014, VK had at least 280 million accounts.[6] VK is ranked 22 (as of November 1, 2014)[7] in Alexa's global Top 500 sites and is the second most visited website in Russia, after Yandex.[8] According to eBizMBA Rank, it is the 8th most popular social networking site in the world.[9] As of January 2015, VK had an average of 71 million daily users.[10]
>VK is DMCA-compliant and offers a content removal tool for copyright holders.[29][not in citation given] Large-scale copyright holders may gain access to bulk content removal tools.[30]
>Since 2010 VK has also entered several partnerships with legal content providers, such as television networks[31] and streaming providers.[32] Most notably, the Video on Demand provider IVI.ru, that has secured licensing rights with all of Hollywood majors in 2012.[33] These partnerships allow providers to remove user-uploaded content from VK and substitute it with legal embedded copies from the provider's site.[34] This legal content can be either ad-sponsored, subscription based or free, depending on the provider's choices. VK does not display its own advertising in the site's music or video sections, nor in the videos themselves. On October 2013, VKontakte was cleared of copyright infringement charges by a court in Saint Petersburg. The judge ruled that the social network is not responsible for the content uploaded by its users.[35]
