There's a section of the Waze GPS app where you can open yourself up for a carpool/join a carpool. They have a separate app for this too.
I've not heard of many people actually using it, but the idea is it knows your home address, work address, and when you need to be there so it checks for people with a similar route that might only need to divert a few minutes to pick someone up and drop them off.
If there are even any people using it along your route, they might not even respond, but afaik it's free to check.
Hola, yo antes usaba transporte público para llegar al trabajo, de repente nació una cosa llamada "Waze carpool" ufff una maravilla. Se sincronizan rutas de conductores que tengan activo el carpool y tú cómo pasajero puedes ver si te conviene uno u otro. Lo estuve usando fácil un año y todo bien, inclusive dos miembros más de mi familia también lo usaron,, te lo recomiendo mucho y así no tocas el transporte público.
Lo deje de usar porque en al trabajo ya no es necesario ir.

Good idea... But I think Waze is trying this in certain markets now with greater roll out coming... If it works.
