There is a Weather app that was popular in Europe called WeatherPro. I don't think you know how terrible all the American apps are in Europe, they never get it right when it matters. Anyway they updated their app changing the UI and from a pro version for life + subscription for more features, to freemium app with only subscription. People were so mad since the freemium version lost a lot of features even with subscription it dropped from like 4.7 to 3.4, look here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mg.android
Poeple are furious me including. Weather app is more than an app, it is important information for a lot of people and something they rely on. Companies only see more profits nothing else.
Well, in the US at least, they've been pretty uncompetitive. They've been lobbying to limit the NWS's data to give out to the public, data that they themselves use. Like when the NWS tried to make their website more accessible, they campaigned hard against it. They also lobbied against global weather cooperation, which the NWS also relies on. The CEO of AccuWeather was Trump's pick to head NOAA. He was never given the post and after two years he withdrew. These are just the major issues, there were others such as long-term features that the company offered for a bit. Predictions going one-two months ahead, which were basically just wild guesses. So besides their attempts to privatise and monopolise the weather into a pay to win system and questionable features, there's the other things that companies get embroiled into. Such as ignoring sexual harrassment claims. The company is just too... Distasteful for me to like.
If you're looking for alternatives, I recommend WeatherPro by MeteoGroup.
Or something simpler: Yr.no by the Norwegian Government.
thanks. On Android "WeatherPro" has graphs, but quite small and I don't know if it's in the free version, bought it a while ago. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mg.android&hl=en there might be in ios version too
Link please, which one? https://play.google.com/store/search?q=weather%20pro&c=apps
UPDATE Links for the lazy: WeatherPro and WeatherPro Free.
