I made a list of lesser known sequels on Letterboxd for this thread.
https://letterboxd.com/ethanbayes/list/lesser-known-sequels/
Personally, I enjoy telling people about weird films that they may have never heard of and one of the best variants of that is telling them that a film has a sequel they did not know about. That is why I chose this weeks theme so you could tell people about the weird sequels that you have found.
I'll add more to the list as people comment.
I am also not a huge fan of musicals which is the primary reason behind not watching La La Land, according to my letterboxd i have only seen 39 movies with genre music out of 1244 total. I am not sure what i will watch though but surely try to watch atleast two films this week.
A couple of suggestions for those who like me are not fans of the genre are Sing Street and Straight Outta Compton.
EDIT: I would also like to suggest The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996) if anyone is in mood for Disney's animated musical.
Am not sure if this type of content is aloud, since most post here are more conversations on movies, but here is my data for the end of the first six of the year.
Here is my Letterboxd if anyone is curious: LetterBoxd.com/ChrisChatter/
I made this using Letterbox to collect the data (I actual started with a Google doc, but LetterBoxd is so much easier), then used Excel to calculate and keep track of the data for most of this, and Inkscape (a great, free design tool) for the design.
Been a good week so far.
Good: Una (2016): An uncomfortable look at the reality of a very sensitive subject. You can tell that it was originally written as a play; the static feel eventually works to its detriment, but the performances from Rooney Mara and Ben Mendelsohn are fantastic.
Buster's Mal Heart (2016): A bizarre film that I had to watch twice to unpack. Committed peformance by the brilliant Rami Malek.
In The Fade (2017): This blew me away in places. The pacing is a little off, but overall it's a heartbreaking, visceral story of grief anchored by an arresting performance by Diane Kruger. Highly recommend.
Hostiles (2017): One of the best of the 146 films I've seen thus far in 2018. Beautifully shot and acted, and a brutal but compelling story. The dialogue is a little ham-fisted in places, but overall I found this to be utterly breathtaking.
Haven't seen anything particularly bad so far this week. I did watch two very-hyped Black Mirror Season 4 episodes - USS Callister and Hang the DJ that I thought were good-but-overrated, but they certainly weren't bad. Will edit if I watch anything else of note.
Here's my letterboxd if you want to see, on pace for 400 films this year.
Will definitely be watching. By the time the ceremony airs, I will have been able to see 59 of 61 feature length & short films. My Life as a Zucchini & Watani: My Homeland are the two that I'm missing. First time I've been able to see this many nominees. I've listed my favorites on Letterboxd.
Hope you enjoy watching. Should be a fun week.

Andre from Sacramento, CA. First time attempting this challenge. Like all sorts of movies particularly Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Horror, Documentary. Love the 70s and 80s!
Ooooh I've been looking for a place to share!
Doing one film a day, whether it be a short film or feature length depending on my real life schedule. Taking literally any suggestion that comes my way, so I have no set theme! I do have an instagram page if anyone is interested as well - I put my reviews on there instead of Letterboxd Letterboxd
Howdy. Albatross365 here.
Was invited here at the start of the year but never got round to joining until now.
For me, my take on the challenge is 365 films that are new to me. Managed 270-ish last year.
Side challenge is seeing at least 12 at the cinema. Managed 14 last year.
Currently on 97 with 5 seen on the big screen.
Looking forward to joining the discussion

Of the 12 movies listed for 1992, I have seen 6 of them. My top 5 would be from worst to best.
From the second list, I have watched 2 movies and the first third of Glengarry Glenross before safely saying that movie wasn't for me. My top 2 would look like this:
People on here track their viewings in different ways. Try something out but don’t feel like you need to to be included.
You mark the date you watched something on Letterboxd, yea! And you can import xml files into lists but not ratings and diary and things like that. Here’s some info.
Same here , i had never seen more then a 100 movies a year before 2017. Tv has been pretty disappointing over the last couple of year, quantity is gone way way up but it has compromised the quality. I was also a tv guy but last year have been really enlightening.
Wow collecting is super cool, i wish i could do that but i am still in the middle of a three country move so only can start collecting anything once i am a bit settled.
I'll be going for Blood Diamond, J. Edgar, Spielberg, Marvin’s Room, The Quick and the Dead, and maybe This Boy's Life.
edit-
I also highly recommend Catch Me If You Can, to anyone that hasn't seen it yet. It's on several streaming services currently. I wouldn't say it's the best movie that Leo has been in, but it's my personal favorite of his if that makes sense.
I'm trying to watch 365 movies this year and I just started writing reviews for some of them.
I will follow you, if you follow me (y)

Hello, I'm a bot! The movie you linked is called Get Shorty, here are some Trailers
The King of Kong- A Fist Full of Quarters (2007): It doesn't fit the theme but I saw it was just added to Starz and thought I'd throw it out there. Pretty low budget documentary, but if arcade gaming appeals to you at all, this documentary is pretty great imo.
I don't think anyone doing the challenge this year here will have time to repeat it next year and my case is similar too, i have nothing to do these days so i am spending it by watching as many movie as as can which is about 3 movies a day and by that pace i can still make it to 365 by 31st, 12 days 36 movies, i have to say i am not doing this to somehow complete the challenge but rather i am quite enjoying myself esp with all the festive themed movies.
This year was about broadening movie horizons and even though i have watched a lot of shitty movies too along the way, there were a lot of movie i also watched and enjoyed which i wouldn't have watched in 2016 and i plan on continuing with that. I have made a considerable dent to my watchlist which still has over 900 titles. I was born on 6th of January 92 so approximately in the first 25 years of my life according to imdb imported letterboxd stats i had watch roughly 765 movies only and so roughly the third of the movies i have watched in my entire existence was in 2017. I don't think i will ever be able to do this complete challenge again but i plan on continuing with the journey that 2017 started.
My 2018 resolutions is about a deferent medium, i plan on reading atleast a single issue of comic book per day which is a quiet small goal but the uncertainty in the coming year demands a smaller plan. In addition to that i want to continue with what we started this year and i will have a target of somewhere from a 100 to 150 additional i will be focusing on a weekly challenge i found on letterboxd called Film School Drop Outs – Weekly Challenge 2018 with a few tweaks of my own.
I'm looking forward to your impression of Senna!
Let's say, that's my plan. Yes. I'll see that I soon get around to update my Letterboxd diary, too.
Edit: Done. My Letterboxd is up to date.
