Check out http://followmy.tv/. My preferred order for family guy is:
EDIT: And then Cleveland Show Seasons 2 through 4, but only the first 11 and a half minutes of each episode
I use followmy.tv. It's far from perfect, but it's the best option I've found.
They have a lot of missing variety shows that they were starting to get around to adding when the admin when AWOL a few weeks back. When he returns, they should all be added.
FollowMy.tv already does this and tracks your progress on a show. I'm currently at 3 months, 18 days, 14 hours, and 15 minutes. And that's not counting shows I've seen and don't follow, reruns I've watched, and (of course) movies.
There was a really well designed site in which you would manually check each episode as you watched it, much better than on-my.tv or episodecalender, and it was even created by a redditor, sadly I don't remember its name.
I've since stopped using that unknown site in favor of trakt.tv and if you use a media center application, trakt is fantastic. Think of it as last.fm for your television/movies.
EDIT: Found the first site again followmy.tv
And I decided to take a couple screenshots of the fun graphs and whatnot trakt provides. Seriously, if you use xbmc, plex, mediaportal, or boxee then you should be using trakt.
Mostly a tv tracker. The site I use isn't the best one out there, but it's the one I've been using from the beginning and I'm not inclined to change. I also have a spreadsheet for my own nerdy purposes and a general list I keep on my blog.

It's mostly procedurals and comedies i grew up watching at home that take up most of that time. Even though i don't always enjoy them as much as i used to, i'm sometimes 7+ seasons deep, so i just keep watching ;p. And it's just easy to watch a few a night. If i watch 3+ episodes of a breaking bad/house of cards like show in one sitting, i just end up getting very depressed, and i stop enjoying it. That's why series like that usually take me a long time to finish.
You hit the nail right on the head, why did they do an upgrade before they were ready with all features. I've started to use http://followmy.tv and if Trakt doesn't get it together soon will probably just stay with Followmy.tv
(A bit of a late post)
I'm Dutch myself and Dutch people are very open, in their own circles. To outsiders they can come off as rude quite and just introvert. As soon as you get to know some people a bit they will tell you everything you want to know and physical things sure aren't a problem.
You live too far away though, I'm a series addict (http://followmy.tv/u/Harmster/time_wasted)
I hope you have some luck in here :)
followmy.tv Since I watch a lot of shows this site is doing all the tracking for me and there isn't a show that I did not find or incorect air time. Also you can mark a season of a show as not watched if you want to watch it again.
Someone from http://followmy.tv/ plugged that site on reddit. I played around with it and it's quite cool (particularly the "time wasted" feature that put me at an absolutely frightening number).
I use an android app that also gives me alerts when shows I watch will be on, so I don't actually use followmy.tv but it's a good option.
Same here , i had never seen more then a 100 movies a year before 2017. Tv has been pretty disappointing over the last couple of year, quantity is gone way way up but it has compromised the quality. I was also a tv guy but last year have been really enlightening.
Wow collecting is super cool, i wish i could do that but i am still in the middle of a three country move so only can start collecting anything once i am a bit settled.
Since it seems like you watch a lot of TV, you should check out http://followmy.tv The interface is kinda clunky, but its great for keeping up with what you have and havent watched and especially keeping up with shows that are still running, as far as finding out when a new season starts/ends and stuff.
Whenever i hear about a new (or old) show that interests me, i just add it to my list. http://followmy.tv/u/Cyno01/following Theres a lot more sorting options for your own account though. http://i.imgur.com/l3gnPmB.png
^/(the ^top ^two ^i ^set ^aside ^for ^now ^because ^i ^cant ^find ^them ^anywhere ^in ^decent ^quality)
Ive been going through oldest first and its nice to not to have to think about what to watch next, past couple months its been
Tales of the Gold Monkey
Alien Nation
Gargoyles
Reboot
Highlander Franchise
Lexx
War Planets
and right now im in the middle of Total Recall 2070. I get your late 90s cutoff, some of this older stuff has been kind of a slog to get through, ill be back to newer stuff soon thankfully.
And in case anyone hasnt suggested it, Farscape. Its one of my favorite shows of all time, if you can get past the initial weirdness and the muppets, its one of the best sci-fi shows ever, it does take a little while to find its footing, but IMHO every season gets better. And really the muppets (and they are muppets, its a Henson studios production) are part of what makes it great, it lets a lot of the aliens be truly alien and not just people with stuff glued to their faces.
This is actually from a Windows 10 app called TrackSeries, and it does track the episodes, tells you when new ones are airing, what you have missed etc.
If you don't have Windows 10, you can use http://followmy.tv/ it does the same thing but in website form (I used to use this, but switched to the app since it's more convenient)
I use followmy.tv to track what I watch. The layout is simple and easy to get used to, it tells you on the home page when your shows are airing, how many episodes of whatever show you have left to watch and what your friends have recently watched. I follow 54 shows and I'd be lost without it.
Voice of dissent: I hate that trakt.tv doesn't have a mobile version of their site (so it looks awful on my ipad mini, for example), and I never found an app that didn't irritate me as well or cost more than I was willing to pay. I am also a longtime user of episodecalendar who is now a refugee from their premium decision. This is where I landed, give it a look:
You can't click watched from the calender, but you can bulk change episodes to 'watched' from your Episode List.
followmy.tv (I also own the domain follow.tv)
Its a project that I started years ago when predicted the pivot of tv towards second screen and social interaction.
Its a social network where users can track their binge watching progress for tv shows, follow their friends and discover new tv shows. By following future tv shows you will make sure to get notified when the shows will soon be airing on tv.
Growth has been stable since launch and has an active community. I'm open to selling the project or finding a partner with investment to develop the product further for a bigger market.
It's not beneficial in any practical way. But I keep track of TV shows, movies, and comic books because I'm weird like that.
http://followmy.tv is a pretty nifty (and supposedly redditor-created) site for tracking your TV viewing. It includes a time wasted feature, which can be disturbing (1 year, 10 months, 27 days, 14 hours, 10 minutes for me).
