I run the couchmoney.tv Trakt movie recommender - it started as a personal recommender for myself during lockdown, but grew into a pretty elaborate public free service. It gives you recommendations based on movies you've rated in Trakt and the lists are auto-updated every time you watch or rate something in Trakt.
It will give you up to 100 items per list, and each list can be filtered by genre/year/popularity/language. But if you just want some lists to copy, feel free to check out the lists I have, the couchmoney ones are constantly updated. The "Watch Again" lists are probably a good place to start for those genres (as long as your tastes are similar to mine).
Yeah, that episode is here, if you search the title under episodes you'll find one offs usually. This was under BBC Documentaries
I'm more interested in why you take the time to remove your history?
As I see it, there is only pros and no cons with keeping a history.
For me, having history of episodes simply helps me to keep track of my shows.
When it comes to movies, it helps me remembering what movies I watched and when I did it.
Also, it's really nice when you are looking for a movie to watch; I just go to trending movies and filter out everything I watched, make it really easy to see what movies others are watching and I haven't seen yet. Same goes for when I'm finding a nice movie list.
And a bonus, you get awesome statistics and can look at a super cool year review; https://trakt.tv/users/PUT-YOUR-USERNAME-HERE/year/2016
To get that, I went to your year in review then click on September in the tv show monthly graph. Almost all stats and graphs are clickable to see more info.
I'm not sure about Kodi setup, but basically you created Trakt.tv list with mdblist.com.
P.S. Someone familiar with what you are trying to do maybe will be able to help you.
Are you using any other Trakt apps or services that might be adding it back? You can check at https://trakt.tv/oauth/authorized_applications
Also you could try removing from the website and seeing if the same issue occurs.
Maybe the show is hidden from your calendar... Check the "Calendars" section on Hidden Items.
If you find the show, click the show poster to remove it from the hidden items.
(edit: clarify)
Never heard of couchmoney, but it sounds interesting. I'm gonna give it a try when trakt gets back up and running.
Classics are always nice. And I do love good sci-fi and fantasy. Sometimes I even enjoy not-so-good sci-fi/fantasy >!https://trakt.tv/users/lmv92/ratings/all/all/highest!<
Hi,
what he want is someone to trigger "data refresh" on this show: https://trakt.tv/shows/on-the-border-2018
source: https://www.reddit.com/r/PopCornTimeApp/comments/keglft/anyone_with_trakt_premium/gghy2op/
pinging op: /u/darksideno1
No need for that custom list, what you are looking for is this:
https://trakt.tv/users/YOURUSERNAME/progress
That's where shows go when you watch at least one episode, after they leave your watchlist.
You hit the nail right on the head, why did they do an upgrade before they were ready with all features. I've started to use http://followmy.tv and if Trakt doesn't get it together soon will probably just stay with Followmy.tv
You can try Show Tracker for Trakt.
Disclaimer: I made this app.
It has both the iOS version and android version.
Feel free to leave a comment or feedback.
You can use Show Tracker for Trakt
Disclaimer: I made this app, both for Android and iOS.
Try Movie Mate and Series Mate, they support lists and sync very fast.
I think you're new to Trakt. If yes, you can also use apps to access Trakt. It would make usage easy.
If Apple, there is an original app from Trakt.
If Android, there are more than a dozen client apps. I use Cinexplore.
If you click "TMDB comparison" on the side-bar, you can see the current discrepancies that need to be addressed before they can switch the show over to using TMDB as the data source. (depending on what it is, either correcting/adding missing information to TMDB, or the trakt staff manually remapping episodes from TVDB's order/numbering to TMDB's) For this show (https://trakt.tv/transition/tmdb/shows?trakt_id=37696) .... there's a lot.
My app can do something very close to this, with a hidden feature. You're actually the first person who has a use case for it, which is why it is still a hidden feature! I may add this to the UI at some point.
Anyway, if you go to couchmoney, create new Movie list > Based on a List > My Watchlist, and then select whatever filters you want, and then (this is important) include "(src)" in the title, like "Watchlist movies (src)", it will only recommend from the source material. It's not a simple filter (it's not going to recommend stuff it thinks you won't like), but it sounds like it could work for you. Here's my "watchlist list" as an example.
The other secret feature is if you instead put "(inc)" in the title, it will consider films in the source material in addition to all other movies you haven't watched. Hope that helps!
Not the op, but I'm a VIP & haven't found that feature yet, now I gotta look for it!
Would be really great if I could just ~type it in the url box like on Letterboxd tho..
https://letterboxd.com/simbiani/films/diary/for/2021/09/ (example)
https://trakt.tv/users/simbiani/history/2021/09 (does not work LOL)
They’re for other metadata that show up depending on the type of list item, sort, and filters, etc.
If you check out something like this list which has movies, seasons, and episodes, and sort it by percent you’ll see the other values in those lines.
Screenshot example: https://i.imgur.com/OP5iWl9.jpg
Trakt pulls from TMDB or TVDB depending on the show, and in this circumstance, it's an universal issue with both metadata sites - https://trakt.tv/transition/tmdb/shows?trakt_id=118572
the metadata sites are aware, but refuse to bend their policies to the Netflix re-edit, so you'll just have to deal with it.
To hide the show from the Progress section on the dashboard, go to https://trakt.tv/users/me/progress (or click your profile picture on the right, then Progress), find the show you want to hide and click the hide icon next to the show name.
If you don't mind, I've also noticed before that this show: https://trakt.tv/shows/mobile-suit-gundam-ms-igloo is missing it's TMDB id, https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/44919-mobile-suit-gundam-ms-igloo-the-hidden-one-year-war?language=en-US I think it would be 44919 in this case.
The titles show up on trakt.tv. so yeah, maybe it is syncler/Android. But I've added a lot of lists to syncler and this has not happened with any other list.
https://trakt.tv/users/ironfits/lists/ecchi-anime?sort=released,asc is the list.
Check this out? This a list/collection with rss feed go here > https://trakt.tv/users/andreofgyn/lists/2020-oscar-nominees-winners?sort=rank,asc
This is where you find the rss feed : https://i.imgur.com/ntLwaVD.jpg
You’re welcome. All time stats has what we considered more global stats and comparisons. We’ve experimented with some of those sections in the year in review, but it didn’t seem to add much value. It could be worth revisiting though.
The 2021 is available at this link: https://trakt.tv/users/me/year/2021
Message the admin on the Trakt website. I always get a response from them there. I've had problems w/ mainly television programs becoming unmarked, as in no longer marked as watched or no longer marked as part of my collection and so on. It was recommended to me that I delete cookies for trakt.tv, which I did, but it doesn't seem to resolve the issue long-term or at all in some cases. However, this behavior seems to eventually self-correct. I don't know what the issue is exactly, but keep an eye on it, as it might not be permanent. It might just be something like I've experienced, where it eventually corrects itself.
I'm fairly certain your connection isn't the issue. I've been having the same problem a lot this week.
FWIW - I don't know if it's directly related - I've also been getting a lot of 504 errors at trakt.tv for months. I emailed support on 10/14 and Sean responded to confirm that they're aware a 504 error can happen to users with a lot of history data. I have ~53k items in my watch history and get errors consistently when trying to view it or export it. Sean mentioned that he saw the same thing when trying to export his ~57k episode history. It's apparently a timeout issue when querying the database; he told me he'd let me know when they have a fix.
Ok, then a few things to check:
Some of the episodes I have been watching and entering into Moviebase have not been syncing when I look at the trakt.tv website in my history. I just had to manually enter quite a few, so I think I'm done with Moviebase. I gave it over a year, and it just has too many glitches like that.
I have both the Plex plugin and Emby plugin working together with no issues usually - the only time was when I changed Plex to use webhooks briefly and it all went badly wrong for me. All I did was setup each and activate them using their own unique codes. If you go to https://trakt.tv/oauth/authorized_applications you should be able to see what applications you have authorised.
My app is very simple and usable, maybe you are should try :)

Well said. I've tried more than a dozen of apps. But Cinexplore is the best for me. Always. Next update is on the way, most probably this month (that's what developer mailed me)
Especially because of the quantity of information available, like, the list of sequel or prequels of a movie, most importantly, the production house details, crew members, and the list of movies and shows they were part of 🔥
You don't need Google to find a movie of a purticular person (cast or crew).

You can create multiple app credentials so yeah no need to commit, and you can even use https://staging.trakt.tv if you want to do things before moving to the production environment. You can create an account there in the same way you do on https://trakt.tv
Not directly, they are closed systems and don’t want anyone in to sync their own data. For Netflix, there is a workaround — https://trakt.tv/a/netflix that is a browser based extension to sync your plays. For Amazon, last I checked they don’t have enough identifiable info to know what is watched.
Watch list is things you want to watch - items are automatically removed when you add them to history. For shows, those move to Progress.
Progress being the shows you’re watching or have watched (related to history).
History being what you’ve watched.
Collections being what you’ve collected (physically or digitally, such as a DVD or bought on iTunes).
Lists just general lists of items.
You can get watch listed shows to show up in progress as 0%. Go to settings https://trakt.tv/settings > Watched Progress section > tick “Include Watchlisted”.
https://trakt.tv/settings/scrobblers Have you configured it for collections? Might also be worth posting on the trakt vip forums as they can have a look at logs. Alternatively there's a few scripts that you can run to sync collection.
https://trakt.tv/shows/america-s-got-talent-the-champions
This one? If you have it added to a watchlist it will be in calendar and below dashboard, it will be in Up Next on Dashboard only after you've watched one.
Click on TV or Movies, then on advanced option for the search.
Here is a link, for example, which shows trending movies available on Netflix. https://trakt.tv/movies/trending/?watchnow=netflix
You can choose by streaming service as long as that service is available on Justwatch.com. For example, in Australia I can stream by tv channels that offer streaming and also Stan.

and
https://trakt.tv/users/philrivers/history/movies/released
replace my username with yours, there's a rop down menu for sorting orders
I actually just thought the same thing.
At least I'm somewhat happy to hear that I'm not the only one with the issue.
Also it seems that either Trakt only uses cached data in select places or that Trakt updates different data at different intervals.
As I mentioned in one of my other comments, I see the correct episodes for the seasons when going into the season page (example Season 6 with 18 episodes) but when looking at "overviews" such as Watched/Collected status for the season on the same page, the show's main page or my dashboard it tells me the incorrect number (in the case of Season 6 that would be 31 episodes instead of 16)
I know you’re looking for an app but in case you didn’t know; Trakt VIPs can mark shows as being rewatched via https://trakt.tv/users/me/progress and selecting the ⏪ rewatch option. Unsure about which apps support it, but Watcht on iOS supports it. Otherwise there’s always the Trakt website on mobile I guess.
It makes sense, what you want is in your settings: https://trakt.tv/settings
Scroll down to Dashboard and then change the down menu for Up Next Sorting to Recently Aired.
This will then change up next to be the most recently aired episodes. Another setting would be Recently Watched to make Up Next be what you're currently working through.
I appreciate the reply. This makes sense. I assumed as much from looking at the interface, but the use case for adding shows you watch but are not current on seems like one that most people would deal with, so I assumed they might have a solution for it than the manual process you outlined.
Now, if only I could get my Plex viewing history from a shared server I watch on the Plex Roku app to sync with my Trakt.tv account, I'd be really stoked.
It’s hard to say without more info from that app. I’d recommend working with the app developer to troubleshoot and see what the raw Trakt API is giving the app. If they determine there is an issue, the app developer can work with us directly and provide examples and steps to reproduce the issue.
Is also go to https://trakt.tv/settings/data and reset your browser data just make sure the website is correctly reflecting the list icons. That doesn’t seem like the issue though since you’ve checked the lists themselves on the website.
The Watchlist has always worked like this on Trakt. The progress page (https://trakt.tv/users/me/progress) is designed to track what you’re watching. The Watchlist is just a list, so it doesn’t give you any info about what episode you’re on like the progress page does.
If I understand it correctly, you just click the "refresh data" button on the left side of the main series page. I've never actually done it, so I can't promise that will work though. But I would appreciate it if you tried.
I mostly use https://trakt.tv/shows/trending for that and filter out everything I have watched (the eye button on the left, hide -> watched) but I know you want something based on the stuff you watched before
This is the one I'm mostly talking about: https://trakt.tv/shows/the-corridor-crew. I don't think it's completely updated on TMDB, but I was under the impression that all data was pulled from TVDB. There is a poster and artwork for the show and the latest season on TVDB, but it isn't showing it on Trakt.
Some shows have messed up seasons. TVDB shows these as having parts as well as a season listing. For example: https://thetvdb.com/series/chilling-adventures-of-sabrina vs https://www.themoviedb.org/tv/79242-the-chilling-adventures-of-sabrina
I'm not sure why there are seasons that span multiple periods but the part splits make a more logical sense.
I am working on Ticket Box . I am working in my spare time on it and it is still buggy but give it a try. Not all functions are yet present in app. The status of the app is written in the app description on the google play page.
I wont lie in the future I do intent do add some adds but they will be very very unintrusive(never will I use popup adds) and the up next to watch section will allways remain clean of adds. Trakt vip users will not see ads.
The app only requires your trakt account.
I find TVShow and movies tracker's UI confusing, other than this all the above-mentioned clients are pretty good (with sync also).
In terms of simplicity and sync, CineTrak, Cinopsys, and SeriesGuide do a good job.
What issues have you found so far? ( I don't want to mess up my Trakt data )
Also, are you developing for iOS or Android ( or a hybrid? )
Hey! I'm the developer of Cinopsys, but it has fewer features compared to CineTrak.
But I'm constantly working on it and all feature requests are welcomed!
Can you please try out Cinopsys, though it has some missing features.
I'm constantly working on it so suggestions are most welcomed!
You can try out Cinopsys: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cinopsys.movieshows
It's free without any ads, but no landscape support as of now.
