Seems cool, but the price is steep ($33 for the filter + $33 for the delivery fee). Amazon seems to have it for $53. Anybody found anything cheaper?

Sounds like you have a solution. As far as that Amazon link, it looks like that o-ring kit has a size that might work, but I would still take a pass on that for two reasons.
First, the o-ring that looks like it might work is described as "8 x 1.9". I'm sure that the measurement is in mm. But the 9Barista part is described as having a 2mm cross section. 0.1 mm doesn't seem like much, and it still might work, but it doesn't take much of a gap to cause a leak, especially since we're dealing with boiling water under high pressure.
Second, the description doesn't specify "food grade". Again, I'm sure it's fine, but I'd rather not take a chance with a device that makes something that I'll be putting into my mouth. Personally, I'm perfectly happy to pay the $12 fora single o-ring from 9Barista, even if it seems silly to pay that much shipping for an item that costs less than $12.
If I wanted to order from Amazon, here's a listing that hits all the things I would be looking for. I would pick the "OD 8mm" option. https://www.amazon.com/100Pcs-Silicone-Gasket-Rubber-8mm-65mm/dp/B0BHDZNX74/ But now we're back to having 99 extra o-rings lying around. π
Looks very cool and the logic seems sound, thank you!
The $30 shipping is excessive on their site, was able to get via Amazon Prime next day for $11 less (total to USA), and of course, the near instant gratification. ;)
Thanks again, anxious to give this a try.
Depending on which picture you look at, it's the 9B tamper, a funnel, and this self leveler.

I don't use the 9B as my daily driver, but the funnel has worked well so far. I figured it's relatively inexpensive and if it didn't work I could just return it. Another person on reddit highly recommended this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07N693YSS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
Someone else on this sub recommended this leveling tamp. Iβm planning on getting it at some point: https://www.normcorewares.com/products/normcore-spring-loaded-tamper-upgrate-v4 I also use this funnel: Aluminum Espresso Coffee Dosing Funnel Dosing Ring Funnel Replacement for 53mm Portafilters Espresso Machine Espresso Hand Tampers Accessories (53mm) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08L6DTZ7R/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_A5334A2T1GRWWD8YFZJ6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Thank you! I ended up getting this one - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08L6DTZ7R?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
It leaves an indent on the sides that I have to WDT out, but otherwise is great (and magnetized).
If youβre in US like me, this one works perfectly and doesnβt ship from UK like the one recommended by 9barista.

I don't see this one mentioned much, but my research showed it was about as good as it gets for price vs. performance. There is plenty of adjustment in each direction, and the grind time for a shot is about 30 seconds.

Itβs not a matter of recipe but trial and error in preparation.
Here are the pointers from experience: - it does not work well on electric stoves so get yourself a cheap single propane burner off Amazon like here. - donβt fill water past the line (room temp water is your friend) - temp is key. Try with med-hi and dial down if coffee comes out quicker than 5 mins - use a coffee scale and pack 18g of coffee (donβt tamper too hard) - use good quality espresso beans, my favorite is Eye of the tiger from here
And Practice, Practice, Practice
Certainly would seem like a faulty unit. Below is the actual link to the one I bought. Mine has most certainly been adequate.
I used this one for a while.
Baoblaze Stainless Steel Coffee Dosing Espresso Dosing Funnel Barista Tool - Silver, 53mm https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B089XZ9WD5/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_CB0DHHDXH1Z06D6EE216?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
But I ultimately designed my own dosing cup.
I bought this one here for about 4β¬ or smth back then:

Works well but you cant tamp through it if thats what you looking for.
Which one did you get? I ordered this one, but my 9Barista isnβt due till end of May at earliest, so I donβt know if it will even work π

I looked into this. My guess is that the stock basket that comes with 9B is a white label IMS basket. The one that fits is dimensionally the same with the same hole layout from what I can tell.

I agree it's hard to find a good funnel, I ordered this one and have yet to received, if it fits I'll post it
Yes! Before the 9Barista I was making my coffee in a moka pot, and I was using a hand grinder from amazon (Household ultra-smooth manual coffee grinder, 24 seconds easy grinding upgrade, double bearings stable grinding, stainless steel core adjustable, manu https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07R7KMFS7/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_PXlqM5FlUXTJA) to grind my coffee beans, it was fine but when I got the 9Barista I read I needed a finer grind of the beans for espresso, so I tuned my hand grinder and started grinding, it takes way longer (10 minutes) to grind manually to espresso, or maybe it my grinder, but the shorts were good, so I tried buying an electric burr grinder (https://www.bestbuy.com/site/brim-1-6-oz-electric-handheld-electric-coffee-grinder-stainless-steel/6261475.p?skuId=6261475) that was supposed to be for espresso as well, but no matter how fine I grind the coffee beans, there was no crema and the taste was just aweful, so I went back to my hand grinder and thatβs what I use now, the flavor is amazing and the shot comes out with crema, I get consistently 40ml of espresso every time with the other grinder I was getting 45-46ml of sock water hahaha π
