Yeah I was thinking the same thing about it unwrapping! If I helps I got these and I just stuck it on mine. BUT I just emailed ridge and they say they are going to be making there own solution to adding an airtag soon too.

I just noticed that it has a 1 star rating, so maybe it's not great, but I just wanted something to try.

The lightning tip is from a third party cable that was a piece of junk and never worked right. I just pulled it out of the housing. It was so poorly put together it didn’t take much effort.

The lanyard tip just happened to be the exact same size as the hole. I just used super glue to hold it in place.

I kinda like it for it's uniqueness, but it's not my style. I got this almost a year ago and it hasn't failed me once despite heavy abuse.

There are plenty of wallets with a slot for the AirTag on amazon in the 10-30 dollar price range. I bought this one, Wallet. Been using it for about a month now and it's been fine.

It has worked fine but do not put wallet in back pocket. Which is bad for your hip even with no AirTag.
But I think the Tile Slim is better if more expensive. It is on sale and a good price now.
If Apple made one that was integrated into a wallet and charged $50± for a basic (new types of) artificial leather model, it might be worth it.

pop in a sim card and you basically have the stalking device of your dreams. However i must tell you if you use this to track someone without their knowledge is punishable by a year in jail atleast, maybe more depending on judge.

They'd probably work on a wrist band or watch band but you'll definitely want to measure the watch band and check the specs.

I did lose one of their collars while on a walk and I was able to recover it using the app.

We designed a great AirTag holder that mounts through the collar so it won't fall off.

Its also waterproof - your dog will love swimming with it. :)

I found a hack. It involves removing the leather part of the wallet entirely. I glued on another type of wallet that allows for keys to be added as well (double sided tape, holds on well). You can use spacers to add more keys if required. If you add enough spacers you have enough space to put squeeze in an airtag in the middle. Et voila, airtag tracked card holder that holds a few physical keys as well.

Yes, but the AirTag’s record in the Find My system won’t be getting updated until an iOS device gets close enough to “hear” the tag.

It will be interesting to see how Apple handles Android. They have released their “Tracker Detect” Android app to manually scan for AirTags that have been “separated” from their owner. Maybe Apple will respond to critics and allow Android phones to enable ambient/background scanning in the app to extend the Find My network’s “ears” into the Android space.

I haven’t been able to find something specifically made for an AirTag. I think this might work reasonably well; you could put the tag in the contact case space and at least it’s separate from your glasses and enclosed so it doesn’t fall out. I just got a cheap wallet card/case for an AirTag. I'll use that until I see a cheaper Chipolo card or other card that appears in 2022. Then I will slip the card case one into luggage or another bag or backpack.

The Chipolo is not bad now but, no hurry. I will wait for sales…

We just put it on today and she did not seem to mind at all for the first 10-15 minutes... then I had the stupidity to try and test the airtag to make sure it works. When it activated and began to beep she freaked out... after that she was trying to take it off for a while, until she gave up. I am going to keep an eye on her and if she seems to get used to it I will leave it alone. It does seem to not affect her movements and she seemed fine until I made it beep (🤦‍♂️)...

This is a purchase but sure is cheap at $7.

Rather than buy a whole new wallet I got one of these. It is fine - but the airtag itself is thick, so I had to remove stuff from my wallet to make it usable. Even now it feels uncomfortable when I sit. I guess I'll remove more from my wallet, probably not a bad idea anyway. :)

My go to rule is (Airtag + Car = must remove the speaker).

And when it comes to tracking a car with an Airtag you will be amazed how frequently it updates it’s location, it’s even better than some crappy overpriced GPS OBD trackers.

My advice for anyone wants to use an Airtag on a car is:

1. Remove the Airtag speaker.

I was worried about my bike as well. I designed some holders for it here. Can fit them in between the saddle rails on top or on the crank arm. Having lost a wahoo sensor with their double sided tape I wanted something more secure.

Should work perfect with any MagSafe wallet. Actually helps hold the phone better. I used it with a Spigen MagSafe wallet.

I am using the shortest set of screws, the screw is only on one side which is the side with the key ring. I superglued the AirTag onto the other side with enough space for all my keys. I wrapped the AirTag in 35lb picture wire in an X to hold it in place.

It’s definitely not a perfect solution, but I’m fairly pleased with it right now

I’m using the standard Belkin keychain case that I purchased from apple when I bought the AirTag. I temporarily used packing tape, cleanly applied to the front and back to keep it clean while I wait for Amazon to send me the item linked below. I’ll update when they arrive. I will not that these have both sides open, making the airtag visible. I mention that because there’s other cheap ones that only have one side open.

What is diameter of the mini key ring that you used? I’m also bothered that Apple key fob hangs perpendicular to the rest of my keys.

Any reaction from your cat? I tried putting one on mine and he absolutely hated it lmao. It took us like an hour of him avoiding us under the bed before we could even get it off of him, and then he hated us for most of the rest of the day.

The sleeves I have (these) are much larger than the one you used though. There seem to be no reasonably sized ones available to purchase in the UK as far as I can tell. Maybe I'll try again if/when I can buy a smaller one, but I'm not expecting much difference -- I think the AirTag itself is just too heavy for him, it was making him bob his head as he walked, poor thing.

Yea I went with the belkin as well.

The material doesn’t look like it’s that rubbery/silicon lint collecting material.

And the metal ring is the typical key ring that requires a little bit of time and effort to remove.

I point that out because Amazon has some that have a cheap clasp... (Like this one. LOL and it’s the silicone material. That thing is going to be a lint ball in a week.)
