Yep. We need to do better with stopping sabotage from within and without. Someone on Reddit suggested that everyone get familiar with Sun Tzu's "The Art of War" to understand the philosophical underpinnings of working towards victory. We shoot ourselves in the foot a lot. Usually with good intentions, but we need to do better at working together.

One example is the despair caucus, which insists on assuming that every trump voter believes in the most hateful bullet points of the alt-right and cannot be swayed, when the reality is that most people hardly pay attention, and Barack Obama won Indiana in 2008. Or the folks who say that Trump was attacked all through the election and he still won so it's a waste of time to try anything.

Things look bad right now, but acting like they're unfixable for all eternity is a preemptive surrender that just helps the bad guys.

I guess I'm harping on the left more than the right, but it's because I think our allies' behavior is fixable. I can't fix the neo-neo-nazis, but I can try to prod people to drop the ideological hair-splitting and work together to fight Trump! E.g., $12 minimum wage and $15 minimum wage are both DOA federally for now, so let's put a pin in that argument until it's relevant again.
