I started reading Think and Grow Rich a while back, but I didn't get more than a few chapters in before I had to stop due to my frustration with it. I don't think it gives the best advise really. That's not to say that someone might not get immense value out of it, of course.
My biggest challenge these days is also sleep related urges, when I am between wakefulness and sleep. Just makes it a lot harder to control actions let alone thoughts. Of course I don't know if thoughts are really something we can or would want to control.
I'm not gonna pretend that I have all the answers though. If you made it to 70 days, then perhaps I should go to your seminar!
Remember, there are thousands of people across the world going through these things. Take strength from that, we are in this together.
I don't think you are weak my friend. If you stop telling yourself this and just get some breathing going. Put on your shoes and leave the house. Dance in the rain. Go into the woods and howl like a wolf. Give a random stranger a hug. Do a hand stand inside a supermarket. Whatever you need to do to break this negative thought loop :)
If you haven't seen it, I would also recommend watching the documentary about Tony Robbins: "I Am Not Your Guru". Will it change your life? Probably not. But it certainly contains some powerful stories and it might help restore your fighting spirit.
Let's go for another run together!
h man I haven't realize we are starting a new month... Lets start with the bad news, I have a few relapses to report : Nov 26 and 29 and well today Dec 3rd.
I started reading Mindfulness in Plain English. I find it a interesting read and it makes me want to try meditation once again, but I haven't meditated in a long time now. I feel like I'm not able to just take some time to meditate and be alone with no stimuli. I really need to just start doing it, but I haven't yet.
You have been doing very good Chicken_Hands, good job! I will try to honor more our team!
Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill? Well, the book's main idea is that it gives you a solid approach to material riches by following the strategies mentioned in it (I dislike seeking material riches; but that's for another post :P). The main premise of the book is, if there's something you want, then those strategies greatly increase your chances of securing it.
As for The Art Of War... One of the most influential books that I've read in a long time. It doesn't take you long to realise that while the book is written about military subjects, the knowledge can be applied elsewhere with little adaption to achieve great results. The book's main theme is that great generals have a number of traits which, if applied, should guarantee them winning scenarios assuming things go as normal.
