So true man, sleep is so vital for willpower, that has been scientifically shown in fact. That's why you gotta be ruthless about cutting out every activity at a certain time every night. Even if there are things you just wanna accomplish before going to bed. It's not worth it, not for your willpower and not for your health. This is kind of what my check-in yesterday was all about. Accepting at a certain time, that you have done what you could this day, you may have made some mistakes, you may not have gotten everything done you hoped to, but it's just time for bed no questions asked, and you will get another chance in 7-8 short hours. By trying to cram in a few more accomplishments (or youtube videos) before bed you are putting a whole day of productivity a steak. Not worth it. Personally I use this alarm clock app on my computer to remind me to go to bed every night. (It plays this hilarious "childrens book") When it rings I know to stop whatever I'm doing and get ready for bed, meditate and do a bit of reading before turning off the light. Of course I'm not perfect at doing this every night, but I have definitely made moves to make quality sleep a high priority, and I implore everyone to do the same!
Know that your participation in the community and inspiring words are appreciated even when you face setbacks. Both me and ouch have experienced having to run our respective bootcamps through rough patches, where we had to do try to inspire our regiment even while we were struggling ourselves. It's not easy! But if we can continue to be honest, then it is possible, so kudos for that as well!
Let's get you back on your feet as fast as humanly possible :)
Hey man, I think of this website every time I read your username. Just thought I would throw it out there. Listening to some nice rain as I type :)
I think my struggles and relapses have taught me a lot too. Especially once I decided to keep posting daily updates in peace time, and just return and share my daily experience, even when I wasn't proud of what I had done. It has been amazing to experience that I indeed do have a capacity to put in consistent effort towards a goal, something I think I highly doubted about a year ago. Nofap has also changed my whole approach to self-help and improvement, but that I think is a topic for another discussion :)
It's a blocking filter for the plug-in Addblock Plus: https://youtube.adblockplus.me/en/
It let's you get rid of the comment section as well, which I like.
I also use a plugin called FBPurity, to heavily filter facebook: http://www.fbpurity.com/
This includes a setting for getting rid of the entire news feed, which removes a lot of distraction. I still don't like facebook very much and try to minimize my time there.
As non_newtonian_jelly has said don't say that you have already destroyed chances with any girl in the future. This is the reason we are doing this man. That we are doing No Fap. Have that strong mindset of believing in yourself and having that confidence. If you need some tips, do check out the book Models by Mark Manson or the Book of Pook. You might think that these are the usual "PUA" or the "How to Attract Women" books but they are not. They mostly focus on ourselves and taking action on them. I've got a long way to go as well and for me what sucks is that I already know what stuff and things I need to do in order to achieve my goals but I still slack off and get lazy.
I suggest you take a time off and have a vacation as well man. It could be just driving to a nearby city and staying there. That works for me.
