I read this 3 years ago when I first discovered the alters, and it gave me some ideas:

You. I remember you. You’re the witty one who had all those good jokes. When I was fleeing my domestic violence situation, recently.
Here’s a good Read
If you can get your hands on it, Journey Through Trauma was immensely helpful as a read. This therapist outlines the common stages of trauma healing in the journey through therapy, including the crucial first phase of Preparation in which one gets ready to explore one's trauma.
In our past therapeutic experiences, speaking of anxiety and depression was far easier because we could get away with mere descriptions of symptoms that caused daily difficulties. Trauma is a bedrock from which all other symptoms spring. It can feel like a personal tectonic shift to discuss the deepest rooted traumas that inform one's behaviour, as unrooting them requires we finally acknowledge they happened. In therapy, this also means old habits and coping mechanisms that were borne from living with this trauma need to be challenged and changed. So I understand if it is immensely difficult. I wish you well on your journey.
