Don't get a Chef Mike. It's not worth it. It kills your health, your food quality and taste. I highly recommend you consider a quality toaster oven like I have linked below. It's low power consumption, takes up about as much space as a nuke box would and it is more versatile. This particular one is extra wide so you can put a whole 13x9 casserole dish, if needed, or even a pizza. You can warm things up, toast, broil, bake and such and best of all...you won't lose taste and quality of your food. Highly recommend for apartment or single/double person living. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00LU2I428/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_R95A72DRNW1HQR7FBZYH?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
Edit: I just read the other half of your post and realized you already own it. 🤣🤦♀️ I probably should have read your entire post first 🤭. Since I already put the time into tapping out my reply above, I'm posting it anyway for anyone else who might be interested. 😁👍🔥
Make sure you have the right type of potato. Depending on your location, there can be potatoes that are better for baking than mashing. Secondly, make sure they are well cooked. I push a chunk against the side of the saucepan with a fork to see if it falls apart. Once drained, I put it back in the saucepan to steam off the moisture a little with the residual heat from the pan, and then mash with a bit of butter, cream and salt. My masher is fairly heavy, and I keep scraping the sides down to make sure I get every lump.
Another option is getting a tool called a ricer. https://www.amazon.com.au/Premium-Stainless-Potato-Masher-Interchangeable/dp/B078RWHNKT/ref=asc_df_B078RWHNKT/?tag=googleshopmob-22&linkCode=df0&hvadid=436351882231&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=8101618708260113453&hvpone=&hvp...
