Ok, I brought myself to the interface. ;) Recorded using the balanced outs to my VS-700 into Sonar, raw. One chord ringing as I turn the optical encoder knob between some presets.

Its most apparent when switching between cleans with verb, where its naturally the most obvious and abrasive sounding.
I can record, tracking and switching between takes, but doing anything live and switching at stage volume would be an audio horror show.
Don't buy an ART anything, ever. And yeah, the inputs are going to be level mismatched so you will need a pre. Honestly you should just get something like the Focusrite Solo If you have a bigger budget, get one with more inputs. Focusrite pres are great for the price. Once the signal is digitized you could run it over USB into the axe FX if you want to use their processing (compression, reverb, or something insane like running a classical guitar into a cranked Mesa)
Anyone know anything about this and/or if it would even impact the situation at all? https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N3XKOLG/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza
Would this one work? It seems pretty popular from the reviews for whatever else people use it for, but will it work with my cabs and axefx?
