That was my bad. Glad you liked Myst though.
All the hidden objects games that I've had recommended to me are like this. So I hadn't seen any of the stuff you were talking about in them. However escape games like Myst have so much ghost and occult things in them. It's the majority of the ones that pop up.
I ended up putting two and two together incorrectly. Sorry.
I am not going to comment on the morality of piracy, but:
First off, have you seen this? I'm not a fan of movie downloads, but it seems to be what you're looking for, for a total of $30 (so you save the $15).
Second, just my opinion but $70 for a three-film DVD collection is probably not as bad as you think. I mean back when DVDs were still in vogue, $20 for a single DVD was pretty typical (I know prices have come down since then, but still), so that's like $60, and then you adjust for inflation. While it is an investment, presumably you'd keep them on your shelf and watch them more than just the one time. Another option is, buy them, watch them the one time, and then attempt to sell them to somebody else. Speaking of which, have you checked eBay? You might be able to get a deal on a used one. Or even borrow it from your local library... they might not have it, but if they do then it would basically be free. (That's where I rent my movies from whenever I rent, lol)
Third, this is also just my opinion but I wouldn't even bother with the extended versions. The movies were long enough as it is and not nearly as good as The Lord of the Rings, so unless you're really into the Hobbit then it's probably not worth it. (Then again, I generally don't care much for bonus content in the first place.)
My recommendation is to find other, legal forms of entertainment that don't cost money like this. Perhaps download one of the many incredible games created and distributed for free (I particularly like The Battle for Wesnoth, although I known turn-based tactics aren't everyone's cup of tea). Or maybe even read a book that would be spiritually edifying, like Augustine's Confessions.
I don't know the full extent of your country's situation, but I don't think it makes it moral to pirate video games. However, it sounds like you've already made up your mind on the matter. At the very least, I encourage you to talk about it with your priest or spiritual director who understands your country's situation better than random people on Reddit like me.
As also a fan of sharing games via digital means, what?! I'm sitting at over 10 Tb of digital shared media, and I have never, ever seen anything like what you describe. Get a better ad blocker and get a better vpn. Use this site to help choose a vpn. I currently use Mullvad. When finding an ad blocker make sure it is FOSS. I've used Pi-hole, pfBlockerNG, and a bunch of others with my current away from home setup being ublock origin. Just get better stuff and you are good to go.
