The Library
folder is a hidden folder by default on Mac OSX. In Finder, to to the top bar where it says "Go" and then hold down the "alt/option" key on the keyboard. You'll see the Library folder appear and you can access it this way.
Also, you can follow the steps on this guide to make it always visible.
I'm interested.
As an aside, I'm starting up a playgroup/league with friends to play 4-6 player free-for-all games where decks are chosen at random from a pool of decks that have been made. I would love to grow my collection of fun decks for people to play:

What does it look like in Notepad or whatever text editor? Should be something like this: http://json.org/example
The AllSets-x.json files are probably just copies of the original (like if you downloaded it twice, it will automatically rename the second tone to Whatever-{number}.json.
No you just have to put a Subfolder in the themes folder and rename it to whatever you want the theme to be called. Then you copy the gitignore file from /themes/default into it. You have to make subfolders in that folder containing the files you want to use, for example: if you put a folder called zones in that folder with images named handzone, playerzone, stackzone, and tablezone, then those images will be used for the backgrounds of those zones. For best results use a tiling image or texture and save them as png, jpg, or svg.
Find more info here if you want to go more in depth with things like counters, phases, etc.
You can download my theme here if you want an example of what I explained.
The mac client is easy to build for yourself. There's instructions in the README on github and the github wiki. If you need help use the link from the readme to get on gitter chat. I'll upload my build somewhere too
Edit: here it is http://www.filedropper.com/cockatrice-osxgit-31890452015-07-04
I am using it on Mint right now. There's instructions how to compile it here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Cockatrice/comments/2prlnx/can_anyone_eli5_how_to_install_on_linux/cmzhnjt
Additionally, for now there are packages available for Ubuntu: https://launchpad.net/~m.br/+archive/ubuntu/cockatrice
They should work (use the correct one for the underlying Ubuntu version your Mint installation is based on).
If you have experience, you can try building debian packages (see pull request #491 on github).
I don't want to make a whole new topic for this b/c I feel that it can be answered in this topic. My friend is wanting to purchase a new computer but he wants to make sure cockatrice will run on it. I can't seem to find the system requirements anywhere. Can anyone share them here? Here's the computer he's looking at for purchase.
The deck editor in Cockatrice is frankly terrible, I suggest getting the smartphone app Decked Builder (iOS, Android) instead. It will import and export from cloud drives, and you can point Cockatrice at a cloud drive directory to use for decks. Use .dec format to save decks.
Among its many benefits is the simple fact that you can have it open at the same time as a game is going on.
One minor downside - you will need to use Cockatrice's deck editor to correct the display of split cards.
