BTW, the OEM comma drive is the Samsung 980. If you can't get this Intel drive going, it might be worth going OEM:

But I ended up having to strip the wires because the USB-C connector didn’t fit in the 12v power supply. All it is is 2 wires you need to connect and possibly solder and shrink tube, unless you do more research and find out the correct connectors to use.

What new must-haves does Shane offer? When I last used it all it offer was dynamic following (on the device not steering wheel) and lane speed alert which was just a bit gimmicky.

Get the SunnyPilot 0.8.12-test-full-toyota-gac branch installed and it gives you the same following distance as Shane's. It has vision-based and map-based (can be activated independently) turn speed control. It has quiet mode that turns off all sound except major alert (collision and distraction disconnect).

I am currently using DragonPilot 0.8.13 though because it includes acceleration profile based on car setting (eco, normal, sport) but I'll probably switch back to sunny's because I miss the vision-based turn speed control...

I have a 2017 Volt and to C3 was plug and play for me. What I did is use the original cable and the 90-degree cable and join them with These from Amazon. The only other thing that I can suggest is to flip the USB-c.

If you plan to remove it all the time, consider using a small usb-c extension cable and leave that in the comma. The USB-C port on the C2 has a definitely been a source of failure. They'll replace it under warranty, but out of warranty, it's $500 flat rate replacement. After the USB-C port on mine failed, I now use this:

The cover on the comma 2 is a little thick. This little thing extends the usb c out. The magnetic tip would plug into this, and the other end of this plugs into the comma 2.

i've got a little magnetic usb setup to make it quicker to snap on and off. YMMV

Nah not GoPro adhesive. When you buy a Comma 2 (or whatever version you have) it comes with the adhesive version of a GoPro mount, which the case of the comma is made to slide into. That’s how it mounts on your windshield.
