I have reproduced all those errors inside an ubuntu VM. It turns out you are probably using an outdated version of conky. The errors disappeared once I used the latest version (v1.12.2) that I downloaded from their github repository as an AppImage.
disclaimer: first I've heard/Seen taskwarrior, I just did some googling.
>List tasks that are due this week.
>$ task +WEEK list
so i would think:
reminders=$(task +WEEK ~/.birthdays) echo "$reminders"
should print the week's birthdays?, then you can use sed
etc to cut out whatever extra fluff you don't want on your screen.
now, I'm unsure what remind -q -r
actually does... but I would expect taskwarrior to provide a manageable list.
For the gui, the only thing I can think of is conky-manager, which is only good for switching between multiple configs and themes.
As for the tutorials, I would suggest the wiki on the conky github. This will show you the basic functionalities, but if you want to do the fancier stuff like circular graphs you'll have to learn Lua scripting.
If you're really eager to start, I would suggest that you download a couple of conky configs and Lua scripts that you like and start messing with them and try to modify them the way you like. That's how I learned anyways... :)
it seems that you don't have cairo installed. My advice is to download the latest official distribution of conky as an AppImage (it contains all the dependencies you want without installing them on your system).

oke, look to this. U have some errors. U must change something. Maybe paste your config and show it (use pastebin.com) or you can do it on by own. Just create simple config, like this: https://github.com/brndnmtthws/conky/wiki/Default-Config Just try it, if it start well, just modify this.
