I’m so sorry you are feeling miserable. Here is what I’ve done in that situation:
Here is the miracle laxative: https://www.amazon.com/Tobias-Colon-Day-Quick-Cleanse/dp/B00ISAPPLI
IB-guard (really try this if you can): https://www.amazon.com/IBgard-IBgard®-48-capsules/dp/B00Z7OIKXS
Try to relax. Take a nice warm shower or bath. Massage your tummy in circles. Message me for any other questions.
I hope you get some relief soon.
1) Laxatives are innervating (stimulating / irritating) and habit-forming. Their use is only for emergencies, not for daily ingestion. You need to find other defecation aids (i.e, ACV, probiotics, lemon juice, tummy-massage, exercise, hydration, salt flushes).
2) If you don't address your constipation effectively, you will keep pushing and flexing, exacerbating your hemorrhoid. This may lead to you having to undergo surgery. However, that is not necessary if you let the hemorrhoid rest and get away on its own. And this can be done only by restoring proper bowel function, so you don't have to exert pressure on the sensitive rectal tissues.
3) If you are suffering from severe chronic constipation, water-rich foods ( i.e., fruit ) and meals ( i.e., soups ) can be of great help. Stop consuming dry foods, like nuts and seeds.
4) It sounds like you have a lot of retained fecal matter in the colon. A prolonged juice fast may be necessary to clean your large bowel, improve your microbial make-up and reset your GI system.
5) Make sure you are drinking enough liquids and electrolytes. Without electrolytes, no neural transmission and muscle contraction can occur. Your GI tract is a huge, long muscle that starts with your mouth and ends with the anus. It contracts at 8-12 bpm (peristalsis).
6) A good book that can help you immensely in understanding how the digestive system works and how to solve your bowel troubles for good is this.
The only thing that really worked for me was an enema and an otc laxative called ramlac, I tried diffirent laxatives but this one was pure magic, I dont think you can find it on Amazon but ask your local pharmacies if they have one, plus I don't think I would've needed an enema if I found out about it sooner. I used to eat shit ton of fiber without consuming white bread, rice, sugar and soda, but it kinda clicked that it was the fiber that was doing this to me, so I started drinking sparkling water and non-sugary sodas which really helped, I drank lots of water and juice as well, I slowly started incorporating rice and stuff that had carbs. If you love bread you can always go for whole wheat it tastes better and you can't even tell the difference if you toast it. If you have hemorrhoids or an anal fissure try this cream as well cream , trust me.
Try this. It takes three days to arrive. What’s going on with you is likely not a one time deal. You’re going to want to do this on the regular because you don’t just get impacted bowels. It can seriously affect your health and make you super tired all the time. So many people have this problem and don’t even know it. Then they get diagnosed with all kinds of diseases they don’t have like arthritis and lupus. This is confirmed science. Gut health is the basis for all other health. For a time that idea was rejected but now mainstream medicine is starting to confirm it. Hypochondriac is derived from an Ancient Greek word that refers to gut health and the connection to whole body health. It’s messed up if you think about it.

You could try Mag O7. It works for a lot of people, including myself. You can take 3-5 capsules with 8-12 oz of water at bedtime for a full colon cleanse. I'd take 5 since it's been a while for you. After that, you can take smaller doses (1-2 capsules) nightly for maintenance.
I like this brand called Mag O7. If you take the full dosage, it will definitely make things soft and messy because it's a colon cleanse, but maybe if you do one capsule, it won't be too bad?
But maybe soft is better than having it get stuck?
May I ask how tall you are and how much you weigh? Since you said you're very skinny, I'm wondering if low food volume has anything to do with your constipation. There's been several people on here that have constipation due to restrictive eating disorders like anorexia or emetophobia. Their problem was that because they were eating so infrequently and/or so little, their bowels were not consistently moving, as well as lack of nutrition causing organ dysfunction. People need to eat regularly to keep push old food out. If there's not enough food, your intestines won't have enough to grab onto. Not eating enough can also permanently damage motility.
Is there a way you can eat many small meals a day instead of in 3 meals a day to avoid indigestion? Or 3 small meals plus consistent snacking? Or slowly increase your calorie intake over time?
Do you think your digestive issues might be related to stress? IBS can be triggered by anxiety or duress. If you think they're related, maybe you gotta figure out how to make your life more chill or get therapy or meditation or something.
I'm guessing since you saw so many doctors already, you've already had bloodwork done and checked your thyroid? Have you been checked for H. Pylori? (Maybe you have a stomach ulcer).
I mentioned this in my other comment but wasn't sure if Reddit notifies you about edits, but Indian Triphala seems to help people on this subreddit a lot. This is the brand I see linked all the time. You can read through the reviews or search this subreddit to hear more about people's experience with it and see if it's a good fit.

No idea if it was the intermittent fasting. It could be that or something else, but we don’t know much about you so it’s hard to say.
To clear things out, try this: Mag O7
Then after that, try a high-fiber diet geared towards constipation—see this comment:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Constipation/comments/yv3p0f/comment/iweq8nn/
Try this:
Mag O7 - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000PKEJR0/
It’s pretty gentle. Even one dose should get you pretty empty by the next day without diarrhea, assuming you have a fairly standard digestive system. I wouldn’t become reliant on it though. Just clear your self out and then start fresh with a high-fiber diet, adequate hydration, and exercise.
Did you try stopping the vitamins and probiotics that you think cause the constipation at any point?
It sounds like you’re doing all the right things on paper, so it’s concerning that they’re not helping. Do you happen to be under-eating or have an eating disorder? Like you’re only eating one meal a day or less?
I think you should see your primary care doctor, someone who can keep tabs on your situation, and dig deeper into your problem. If you’re doing eeeeeverything right but still can’t poop without laxatives, you might have underlying motility issues (rather than dietary issues) that need addressing.
Also, I wouldn’t go with magnesium citrate as a regular solution—that pretty much fucks up your gut flora by giving you diarrhea. (And you NEED good gut flora for proper digestion—so maybe try a different probiotic to fix that.) Try this MagO7 ozonated magnesium oxide colon cleanse instead.
Oof. That sucks. I hadn’t ever heard of the “term high stool burden” before reading this post, so that was very informative. I’m gonna throw a link here for anyone else stumbling on this for context:
https://www.fodmapeveryday.com/stool-burden-and-the-low-fodmap-diet/
I guess even though you poop regularly, you’re still not moving enough compared to your intake. I’m going to assume your doctors have already recommended an appropriate diet and just recommend my favorite colon cleanse: Mag O7
https://us.naturalslim.com/collections/productos-naturalslim®/products/good-flora this one is the one that worked after using it for about a month.

I have had chronic constipation my entire life — since I was a baby until I started taking meds last year in my late 50s. No root cause - that is just how my body is. For my entire life I had 1 large hard painful BM every 7-10 days except in college when I was drinking beer then I had a BM once a week - always on Saturday.
Started working with a fantastic Integrative DR last year to fight Candida and Methane SIBO with included trying many supplements and then prescriptions from a GI DR to improve my GI gut mobility and constipation.
It was a long process but figuring out what helps my body was worth it. I now have an average of 4 normal BMs per week.
What works for me is taking the prescriptions Motegrity & Amitiza along with the supplements Triphala and Mag07.
Triphala:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B019ET28WA/
Mag07 Oxygen Digestive Cleanse:
If just the Magnesium is not enough then try also taking Triphala. ( I take both plus 2 prescriptions - Motegrity & Amitiza but that’s me ! )
Triphala:
It is safe to take it on a regular long term basis . If it works for you - that is great !
For me the only type of magnesium that ever helped at all is nbpure Mag07 Oxygen Digestive Cleanser:
Tried many different Magnesiums that did not help my chronic constipation at all. The only one that made a difference was npbure Mag07

I was backed up for over three weeks. I took enemas and whatever else they told me to take. I even had to drink the stuff so I could have a colonoscopy and upper G.I. Immediately after that I was constipated again. I started taking magnesium chews. Not only do they help me go to the bathroom, but they also help with the anxiety that I feel when I don’t go to the bathroom. I feel like when we get anxious about not going to the bathroom it tightens our muscles and stops us from going to the bathroom. This magnesium seems to help smooth that muscle and I feel it helps with being anxious. After I had my colonoscopy I was constipated as I said, so it took about a week of me taking these for them to work. I will take them daily and whenever I am regular I will still take at least one a day.
Dude. MIRALAX. Take 2 caps a day. You'll thank me later. Just do it !
Start over ! Flush yourself out with dulcolax. Take like 3 of those babies. Wait 10-20 hours and you'll be on the toilet.
Take probiotics and prebiotic.

These are the best sellers on amazon. After a month of taking a pill per day religiously my bloating and cramping went away.
Drink water obviously and at the least eat 20gs of fiber when you start this routine.
It’s called “3 ballerina tea.” It’s stupidly advertised as a diet drink. You can find it on Amazon! There is also an extra strength version. Comes in green packaging. Here’s a link.
My doctor recommended that I use these to stretch my external sphincter and internal puborectallis muscles. She had me start with the smallest one just think like you’re stretching the circle only need to spend about five or 10 minutes on it. Definitely have to use lube. Don’t take my word on exactly the technique since this was taught to me and I really can’t convey it well in words except to say this did make a big difference for me

Talk to your GP about a possible referral to a GI DR for testing. Any Dr with likely start by telling you to eat more fiber and take Miralax daily and stop vaping, if you are.
You might want to to try taking magnesium and / or Triphala DAILY - they have both helped me. But each person is different and what supplement works best for you could be different. Have to try different ones.

Take this with a grain of salt, but I found out my constipation was related to my lower back pain. It seemed when I was slouching on a chair, I was somewhat blocking my colon. I use a dilator to gently stretch my rectal muscles. This includes the external spincter and the internal puborectalis muscle. This was prescribed by my physical therapist. It might look like a sex toy but that’s not its purpose. It’s only takes about 5 to 10 minutes of stretching. You’ll have to do some googling I guess as to how to do the stretching. I was taught by my physical therapist it’s made all the difference for me. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B092926ZMS?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_dt_b_product_details

I tried metamucil, thought it was terrible, Try this, I'm taking it, Works better for me, I'm also taking 290mg of lizzess/ constella
Magnesium supplement (note that some forms are more laxative than others). Buffered vitamin C supplement (I take calcium ascorbate).
A gluten-free, dairy-free diet has helped me. Others with less severe constipation issues might not need to completely eliminate gluten and dairy but may benefit from scaling back on these.
I am sure there's a product called dulcoease. There are several brands out there. I'm only saying Dulcolax makes a stool softener: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00007MII1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_GP8NG2V960BC02BYWW6N
Thanks I remember the Konsyl, i tried it for a few days and got worse so I tossed it but there were bunch other things I was trying at the same time, just didn't want risk it. I tried psyllium for a few months and it helped for a bit and then it didn't and I got toxic from the bacteria overgrowth all that stuck fiber was feeding.
Be careful with psyllium and too much fiber as the book Fiber Menace by Konstantin explains. Causes your gut to stretch too much and will need more and more and leads to hemmorhoids. It's good gut bacteria that we are missing. Great book about digestion and gut issues. You have to read it.
I cut the psyllium and fiber supps and was much better. Did probiotics and just did my lactulose laxative for a while.
Acacia fiber I'm looking to try again, didnt really give it a fair shot. lots of promising reviews. https://www.amazon.com/Heathers-Tummy-Organic-Acacia-Senegal/dp/B0002ON8DU/ref=sr_1_6?dchild=1&keywords=acacia+fiber&qid=1618718010&s=hpc&sr=1-6#customerReviews
Going to keep the Colonix and Calm mag in mind, so many damn things ive tried i swear these suppliments mfgr are just milkin me. Also my stool is alot lighter and not as smelly as it use to be which indicates low bile, should be like a chocolate brown. nothing like that anymore. I just bough tudca, ox bile and betain hcl again without silicon dioxide as it might be causing me a problem. read some bad stuff about it..basically like swallowing sand, not good for soft tissues.
Definitely try magnesium. I love this product and it's not a stimulant. https://www.amazon.com/Aerobic-Life-Digestive-Cleanser-Capsules/dp/B00028OVXM
Recently I discovered Fleet Glycerin Suppositories. They have been a miracle cure. As much as we try having a great diet I'll still get bound up.
They are cheap and available at Amazon and Walmart. When I get up and if I feel I am bound up at all, I just popped one in and within about 10 minutes I'm good to go. I'm not sure how they really work, I think it's a combination of physical presence up there and the glycerin acting as a lubricant. Whatever, they have really been helpful.
yes you can buy it over the counter at your local drugstore (walgreens). https://www.amazon.com/Ebanel-Painkilling-Anesthetic-Hemorrhoid-Discomfort/dp/B019D7MQMK/ It's cheaper on amazon however. also get some small rubber "cots", finger condoms, and try/practice digital stimulation. i do that every day before work to clean out what's in their and relax my lower GI. I started that after i did some pelvic floor therapy, where a therapist sticks their finger in your butt to see how tight you and if your muscled are correctly orchestrated "down there". mine are not.
Someone on this sub recommended it. It was at my lowest point when I was desperately trying anything and everything. He said it changed his life. I messaged him to ask where he found it. Amazon. Saw recently they sell it also at Whole Foods too. Read the reviews. It’s also something that you can adjust. I usually take 2 pills, but after I had surgery recently I took 3 bc of the painkillers. Sometimes I take 1 or none per day depending on my diet.
I figured it was cheap enough that I could toss it like the others if it don’t work.
There were years where I had NO digestive sounds at all and now within a couple of hours of taking it, I hear gurgles and bloops. Best sounds in the world!

You really don’t need to endure this agony, the solution is very simple.
Use a shattaf (water bidet) like this
You use low to medium water pressure (never high) and with warm water, hold the nozzle to your anus opening and gently allow water to enter your rectum.
This will do two things:
1) Lubricate, moisten and relax the area 2) break up and hydrate the dry stool making it softer, smoother.
The slow buildup of water in the rectum will also give you an urge to defecate and will help to smoothly push the stool out.
Once you try this, I guarantee you will use it when needed, and never suffer the agony of constipation.
I’m not a doctor so I don’t want to comment from a medical perspective.
But I can tell you that it’s entirely common for some people to take daily mag supplements long term. There are other benefits unrelated to constipation such as cardiovascular, relaxation, and sleep.
The article I linked mentions that Mag 07 is a large magnesium molecule that does not dissolve into your bloodstream nor adds to the body’s need for magnesium. So I don’t think you’ll want to compare it to typical mag supplements or factor in absorption.
As far as a regular mag supplement, there are several different types. I tried a few and ended on this one:
Doctor's Best High Absorption Magnesium Glycinate Lysinate, 100% Chelated, TRACCS, Not Buffered, Headaches, Sleep, Energy, Leg Cramps, Non-GMO, Vegan, Gluten Free, Soy Free, 100 mg, 240 Tablets https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000BD0RT0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_M3lHDbEPH569D
If you buy a shattaf - many available such as:
Aizhy Hand Held Bidet Sprayer Stainless Steel Sprayer Shattaf Toilet Bidet Shower Head with 49-inch Hose and Bracket Holder https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07BLS2HMD/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_9.pwDbKV7AEGY
And with GENTLE water pressure place nozzle on your anus and let water constantly go up your rectum-don’t force it ofcourse. Set the water temperature to warm or slightly hotter as this helps with the stool softening.
What this will do is soften and break up the hardened stool and let it pass until the whole piece breaks up and expels.
I wanted to find out what exactly causes my troubles before I talk to my doctor again. I told the guys at the pharmacy about my problem and asked if they would sell me KREON without presc. and they did. So after comparing the ingredients the constipation fades with a high lipase supplement. I don't get it because undigested fat should cause diarrhea.
Oh I found this on amazon: https://www.amazon.com/NOW-Pancreatin-10X200-250-Capsules/dp/B000776KK0/ref=pd_sim_121_1?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B000776KK0&pd_rd_r=KDVCET15CFHSXQHBWVNC&pd_rd_w=7Vgya&pd_rd_wg=5w0Wn&psc=1&refRID=KDVCET15CFHSXQHBWVNC
This seems to be equivalent to CREON 4000, cause the number correlates to the units of lipase.
