I just checked a map and I got the car park location slightly wrong. Instead of at the top of Preston Down Road, the road that passes Occombe Farm, it's at the top of Marldon Road, the next road along, the one that joins the roundabout at the top of Hamelin Way. The car park is very close to the roundabout and the woodland burial site, which I think is sign posted from the road. I think it gives you the least obstructed view West from anywhere else nearby. Here's a map link: https://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=18/50.47327/-3.58132
It's a shame it's so close to the dual-carriageway but at least it will be reasonably quiet given corona trafffic, especially at sunset.
Also, if you walk approximately 200m south from the car park, along Short Lane, there's a little underpass that brings you out on the other side of the dual-carriageway. On the other side you will have less obstructions in your way, and a wider choice of places to watch from.
It would also be a pretty good place for sunrises - just look the other way, out to sea - would be quite spectacular I think.
I'm removing this post. Reddit in general doesn't like URL shorteners, it looks like you got past the site wide bans by using a roll-your-own service. I wonder why one is being used in this post?
From the YOURLS page, it looks like general tracking and geolocation information are the primary analytic data the service collects.
I am indeed published. My first book, Children of the Crater came out in 2014- http://www.amazon.com/Children-Crater-Connor-Cadellin-McKee/dp/1910094102
And the second book, The Clouds of Escalion, will be released tomorrow. :)
