Yup, swapped out the nerfed gem and am still doing T13 for 3-4 mins. Ref items. (https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Ashandarey-2299/hero/95877684) Haven't tried pushing since nerf, but switching for APD, Daintee allows for comfortable 85 pushes. It, sadly, won't be leaderboard viable anymore, but otherwise, it's all good.
I recently completed a 90 in HC with the Thorns Revive build. That was with barely 800 paragon and five augments. With two weeks left in the season, I hope to make it to 100 or die trying!
I'm fairly new to the spec, so I don't have a lot of my own advice to give. But I did find a couple good resources. This diablofans build page has the best info I've found about playstyle and mobs to look for and avoid. Make sure to read the comments, too:
I like that build, but I more closely follow the build I found on this toon (with a few modifications for HC):
I like this build better than the diablofans one, mainly because I like to use skellies. (Not sure why they're using the freeze rune on that skill; that makes no sense to me. Maybe there's a good reason for it, but I use the healing rune.)
One of the cool things about Thorns Revive is that there's still room to experiment and try different things. Hopefully, other players with more experience with the build will chime in here with some good advice.
The 2750% dmg buff from the set applies to the ring. Thats what makes it pretty powerful. You can easily test it, remove all dmg gems (PE and Poison-Gem, you can leave Trapped gem) and start a rift. I read somewhere that the dmg from the ring is comparable to a PE gem of level 16x....
From my personal tests i feel its a very good ring for Inarius.
I use this setup for T13 rifts: https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/sal-2713/hero/96861483 ( i am in need of Topaz, hence the cubed helm and weird gem in helm )
i did 86 yesterday without Sim or LotD without any augments.
if you use CotC you have singularity dmg up all the time, i dislike long CD spells, just a personal preference.
I play like that: https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/sal-2713/hero/96861483 Using bone armor allowed me to go with 3 offensive gems!
You don't have gem in your amulet. You are using the wrong rune of SM. Although the set buffs AotD, I haven't seen a decent build using it (may be wrong).
I'd suggest dropping Witching Hour for Dayntee and Zei gem to compensate the damage loss. Also, Trapped is better than Powerfull, imo. Also, get rid of AotD and use a curse, if you decide to use Dayntee.
I think that losing the boots for full Rathma and changing one of the rings and the amulet for TP/CR and cubing the other ring instead of RoRG will also be better.
That's me and my max is around GR80 at the moment.
Yeah, I'm doing a lot better now. I can solo 70 easily but haven't felt the need to try anything higher yet, and I feel I have started to figure this build out. One big mistake I had done was that I wasn't using a curse so Dayntee's Binding did absolutely nothing. I also rerolled all my equipment to get relevant stats (like no life per hit and no bonuses to necro skills I'm not using...).
Here's my necro: https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Kyuss-2425/hero/101090668. Still lots of stuff I need to take care of. This is the build I use whatever I'm doing (speed or push). I'm leveling up Bane of the Stricken and will probably switch out Bane of the Powerful for it to improve my solo pushing.
I made an Inarius (speed variation here, aquila and dislocation for GRs), and I have few questions:
Which level do you speed GRs?
CDR is for spamming bone armor? Bone spirit?
Isn't the pick up radius useful with frailty?
Does attack speed matters?
How do you get your bone armor stacks safely? Do you have a sequence?
Thanks!
did GR75 with it with under 1m sheet dps.. rift guardian decides a lot in finishing it or not though. https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/DrMacabr3-2307/hero/95112069
you will be a LOT tankier and still dish out good dmg. I can go near 500m toughness with this setup and my low paragon and bad gear and i rarely die. Offcourse it's not a speedbuild anymore then.. but GR60-65 and even 70 is still pretty fast..
i have to switch to the tankier setup between 65-70 or i die too much for my taste.
I've made 65 yday and I've had no problems with it. I'll do 70 today. Got around 350 paragons. Actually here is link to my current necromancer. https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Valkyx-2551/hero/98085886 I know I can get more paragons lvl gems more to push higher GRs. I just feel that rathma is boring.

In case the build shown is incorrect (i use a blood mage for speed farm as thornmancer is useless in group and isnt fast), you can search the leaderboard (should be GR96, Meewt)
edit: some stats aren't shown it seems, i'm running with about 180k thorns damage, my cdr is a little low with only 38% (without borrowed time)
if u have any questions i'll try to answer it :)
Go to the blizzard website of diablo, log in, view profile, select your hero and copy the url.
Something like this: https://eu.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Rekijan-2584/hero/95313513
But make sure you are on the right region (mine is EU).
I use it with Lidless Wall for T13 and GR70 speedfarming, Jesseth is overkill for those. This way you can equip Bone Armor with speed rune.
It's really fast so feel free to try it, you just spam singularity mages while running and Blood Rushing.

I run torment 11 with 1 ancient (shoulders) and 450 para. It destroys T10 and all you do is pop Land of the dead on CD and bloodrush spam with In-geom proc. Its also great for gem upgrading GR 45s. Just take out sage and goldwrap combo for GR survivalbility items.
Made the build yesterday and was genuinely surprised at hos strong and fun it is.

With optimal gear I wouldnt be surprised if it could do 2 min T13.
Although /u/Stormsurger helped me a bunch already, here's my build - I use the Blackthornes because I don't have anything better in those sloots.
Sorry if the answer is obvious like "just grind" or something or it's too much effort, but this build looks like a lot of fun.
I haven't played for a long time, but I just hit 70 with a Necro.
If I want to eventually be able to do this build, which "road" should I take?
From what I can gather from other threads, I should do bounties and then whatever rift/GR I can do at a decent speed?
This is my Necro, if it means anything:
