apparently on android too! try this out.
The daw question is definitely more my bullshit, my bad. Worth 5 bucks to see if the workflow entices you. the touch screen is such an inbetween for me, it’s definitely not a knob or a pad, but it isn’t a mouse!
All of that aside I’m sure you will enjoy a 404 if you pick one up. You can route it into the back of the digitakt and use the third mixer page to custom configure delay send, reverb, and volume. hold func and hit the lfo button 3 times to see that page. See if it does as you expect before saddling up for more gear imo! For the immediate your phone could be this piece (even if you don’t have a l/r cable!)
I also hate using a synth with touchscreen for what it’s worth. the sampler is less buttons and more sliders.
The USB recording is great. Just make sure your project settings enable sound via USB. Overbridge/Overbridge's VST also allow you to compose sequences on your computer as you would on your Digitakt, but I hardly ever use it for that. I use my Digitakt alongside other instrumentation and i find having 16 channels of waveforms that I can nudge back and forth or delete independently to be a huge asset. Then I program the sequences later to play along with.
This was the video I watched to help me record DT audio on Reaper
The USB the DT comes with us a USB to USB-B, but if your computer has USB-C inputs, you can always purchase a USB-B to USB-C cable. Might even reduce any latency experienced through a DAW.
Same type of stuff cheap foam mattresses out of. As a matter of fact that is normally where I source it. I have an old queen size mattress in my garage that I have built a few boxes from.
You can also use what is called egg crate foam like this.
Dawn College Dorm Mattress Topper | Twin XL Egg Crate Foam | Supportive, Quality Sleep, Hypoallergenic, Cooling | Made in USA | CertiPUR https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09FHT8DJT/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apan_glt_i_A29RMQEP3TNH9KHE751X
If you are going the egg crate route I would suggest doubling it up by gluing it back to back.
It's pretty cheap, has a hard shell and big enough pockets to fit a digitakt with a decksaver, a boxed micromonsta, power, audio and midi cables, with extra space left for headphones and a tablet.
It also has "anti-theft" and USB port features I never use but could come in handy if needed.
That's probably the one I should be going with but in the ends into eying the Amazonbasics one lol a little more height than I'd wanted but looks rugged enough
AmazonBasics Small Hard Camera Carrying Case - 12 x 11 x 6 Inches, Black https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01L0LVDJO/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_A28JT5WBKXN57JTD12X0
At one time I was looking at the [Nanuk 910](https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B00BP8URVS/ref=redir_mobile_desktop?_encoding=UTF8&aaxitk=4f35468dd91335677d25a7e1f6217e8e&hsa_cr_id=3306159900101&pd_rd_plhdr=t&pd_rd_r=71814767-d4f5-4262-9ad6-71ad777c9b15&pd_rd_w=vwqmA&pd_rd_wg=4JgVp&ref_=sbx_be_s_sparkle_mcd_asin_1_img&th=1). Not sure how cheap you're looking or if you wanted bag or a hard case but it's worth a look.
Someone recommended this Carhartt soft lunch case. Ive tried it out It gets the job done pretty well.
I personally don't think it's worth it, especially given the DT's limitations on samples (mono, no time stretch, and 30 sec limit). Plus given the amount of free sample packs out there I don't really see the appeal unless you're using like Splice in a DAW. I'd hit up r/Drumkits, r/Samples, & r/FreeSounds to find some pre-made loops. Plus a lot of subreddits like r/musicproduction or r/LofiHipHop will post links to free packs (like this one).
As someone else said, it kinda depends on what you're looking for but even after a year of having my DT I haven't felt a need to pay for any samples.
Depending on the music you want to make, it could be a lot more fun to build your own sample libary. For example, sites like https://radiooooo.com/ are a treasure trove when it comes to finding interesting sounds.
