Hey, that is a cool idea but I don't think I'm the right person for this, my style is not really realistic (more cartoonish/abstract) and I really look for somebody that publishes modules and adventures on a regular basis. I can suggest you some software like Wonderdraft (29.99$) or Inkarnate (they have FREE tier), I think this will serve you good :)
The first thought that came to my mind when reading this post was the Giant Slayer weapon.
It's a +1 weapon that adds an extra 2d6 damage when attacking its favored type of enemy and can knock them prone.
If you make the white feather favor Celestials and the black feather favor Fiends, I think that would be pretty dope.
Plus, you can make it so only one can be attuned to a person at a time.
Now THAT’S intriguing! I’m familiar with the study and recently watched “The Stanford Prison Experiment” on Netflix ( https://www.netflix.com/title/80038159?s=i&trkid=13752289 ).
I’d have to have some sort of concrete goal to end the challenge so they could move on to the next, but I’d be interested to see how that might play out in game!
Thanks for the idea!
That sounds perfect. Maybe for variety they could be 2 wererats, 2 werewolves, and 2 wereboars? :), You could give the wereboars the traits of a cr 1/4 boar (charge & relentless) and the wererats the traits of a cr 1/8 giant rat (keen smell & pack tactics).
I find that small variety in monsters makes combat just that little bit more interesting and flavorful. :)
They're special or something...whatever...you get the idea.
Draw the pieces of the sword on each puzzle.
One person does the blade, one does the hilt, one does the pommel, one does the scabbard and one that represents the sword as a whole (the binding of the whole.).
you can either hand draw on the pieces or get super crafty.
Now...this will get tricky.... You'll need to practice doing the puzzles to see how much time you need. Say it's 10 minutes.
Okay, first person doing the hilt. They get 10 minutes. if they finish the next person that does the pommel will get 9 minutes + any time leftover from the 10 min. Next is 8 and 7 and 6...etc. You'll want to experiment with the times...
If they can get it reconstructed in time then they get a roll to repair with advantage. If they fail they get a roll to repair with disadvantage.
If they succeed then the sword is built. If they fail then...bad juju. Maybe a spectral knight appears and challenges them. Maybe it's just they all loose half of their current HP (min 1)
Balance according to your tastes. You could throw a die roll in after each piece. You could do all kinds of fun things.
