I don't like their faces, either. There is one that has a mouth that's divided into 2 black and 2 white quarters. I find that one very disturbing. It's a particular aesthetic, and I understand that some people like it, but it's not my kind of thing.
edit: This is the doll I mean
My best guess is the 2009 "Girly" Fashionista! It's tough to find good high-quality pics of her to compare the faceup, but this one appears identical as far as I can tell! :)
You gave me one of those "ah ha!" moments. She looks like a good (or very close) match for the 2017 holiday Barbie. https://www.amazon.com/Barbie-Holiday-Nikki-Black-Dress/dp/B01NBIAKIL/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=2017+black+holiday+doll&qid=1621175453&s=toys-and-games&sr=1-1
Idk if you have her but there's a Cinnamoroll doll in this line that just came out like a couple of weeks ago. She's sold out on Amazon atm though and that seems to be the only place to get her. I pre-ordered mine back in like February and got her a week ago. I love her packaging so much I can't bear to open her 😅 I hope they re-stock her soon so I can buy another one just to open lol.
I don't think so, looking at the other pictures on the Amazon page I got them from they're still a 2 piece.
I use this sometimes, along with the clamped magnifier for fine work.
Helping Hands with Glass Magnifier https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B000MRFVXM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_2aDcGbNHWMDTR?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
You have to wrap the doll to protect it from the clamps but I work on smaller scale and it’s perfect for holding small parts.
def a lalaloopsy doll

She looks like a Swirly Figure Eight with different clothes

This is a Doris doll, released by Ucanaan, and sold on Amazon. She's fully articulated and comes with a wig you can swap out for other colors and styles. To be honest, I think she's prettier than my others simply because she's so different looking. This is her link:

That is an Ariel doll on a made to move body.
Edit: she is in a dresses from the old birthstones series.
Hey there Muddpie! Thanks for stopping by. Personally I haven't known of the Avon barbies, but a quick search gave me an idea. They are stunning! Ebay has always been my first place to look so I went a head and did a search there too. http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=avon+barbie many came up and it looks like most are under 40 dollars. Good luck with your search. Try "google shopping' to search multiple online stores for more avon barbies.
I am a big fan of MGA, I've got Bratz, Rainbow High, I'm hoping to get this one

I think there's a made-to-move Barbie with the right skin tone, but it may be taller that you're looking for if it's for Toph Beifong. You could also look to see if there is a ball-jointed doll with the right skin tone, or if not I'm sure you could find a way to paint it for a match.

Yep! Here’s some on amazon that I’ve been looking at. These have ledges, what might be better for doll display. I’m still on the hunt for some good ones without a ledge front but I do love these too!!!
[Clear Floating Shelves]
I have been impressed with the action figures from click-n-play , they have a variety of hair styles and skin colors and they come heavily armed with cool accessories. relatively cheap too

If you are curious and want to grab one - he's for a reasonable prices atm on amazon here. He's a huge boy, and i suspect he might have problems due to being really rubbery and made in the early 2000s.
I used RH S1 dolls for them, from lightest to darkest: jade, ruby, poppy, skyler. DanceStylz I used krystal from S2. The really light tone FF have a bit of a yellow hue, they don't have a perfect match but it doesn't bother me too much.
The BMR Kira is a decent match for PreppiPosh, and LovesGlam has plenty of options in that mid tone. I think the new Wheelchair fashionista should be a good match for Dancestylz, if not, the petite BMR or floral yoga MTM are perfect, but they are a bit hard to find.
I would be very carefuk though if you are modding the neck hole, the pastic was difficult for me to cut precisely with a sharp exacto knife. I should probably see about filing or sanding down the opening but haven't gotten around to it yet.
The only set I know that has (almost) all the Disney princesses with full articulation is the Wreck it Ralph one
I love the Glo Up girls! But again, why have ankle joints but not knees?! So I'm trying to find a good method of adding them to these girls because almost everything else about them is fantastic. Well, plus I had to shrink Alex's head because, it's me! That's what I do! Always have to try to get those proportions in line as much as I can. I was told it could have something to do with OCD linked to my autism. But I like to keep an unedited doll for comparison pictures.
The body I'm doing the first test on is a Kenzie that came without her head as part of a doll lot. I put a "That Girl Lay Lay" head on her which I think is a good combo and will be shown later.
As I suspected, part of the heaftiness of these girls comes from their legs being completely solid as you can see from the cut leg in the first picture. It seems to be a dense heavy vinyl since it's easy to cut and has a bit of a rubbery feel to the finish.
I found these hidden barrel hinges on Amazon that I thought could do the trick: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08TVL1QLP?psc=1&ref=ppx\_yo2ov\_dt\_b\_product\_details
So then I set about carving cylindrical holes for in the leg parts for the hinges to fit into. I alternately used some flush cutters, an xacto blade, some pliers and my dremel tool.
It's not done yet. I can cover some of the joint with some sort of sculpting medium, but not sure how much yet. Have to experiment. I MIGHT even be able to have the leg turn left and right as well if one idea I have works out. If nothing else, I'll just be happy to be able to have these girls bend their knees at all ^_^
How much are you looking to pay? I haven't been in the bjd field for a few years but i doubt the prices have gone down much and they are pretty up there.
Alternatively, these little PVC models might be able to do what you are looking for less than $20 vs. the several hundred you'd spend on a bjd:
BTW, if you don't mind it not having all the joints, this one has a fair amount of articulation and happens to be a snowboarder.
https://www.amazon.com/Click-Play-Adventure-Snowboarding-Accessories/dp/B07G9NP1XS/
Yes, that's 2004 Cali Girl Christie. I adore her hair - here's another pic.
D'you mean like this sort of thing: https://www.amazon.com/ZQWE-Pieces-Fondant-Silicone-Baking/dp/B0925BTK6T
I did a search for doll mould rather than BJD mould
Just as a heads up - a lot of people don't consider Blythes and other non-strung dolls to be BJDs. I've not seen any aggro over it here, but in some other places it can get quite heated!
I live in the Netherlands too and I can see the Disney style series on Amazon.nl. Here’s a link to Mulan: https://www.amazon.nl/Disney-Princess-Deluxe-Style-Mulan/dp/B07TLNYTTF/ref=mp_s_a_1_12?adgrpid=101479865440&gclid=CjwKCAjw-L-ZBhB4EiwA76YzOcr7gOisSABAb7QZDs2G5QcM66KLhLXU_onaVx1HJU8L5FKUe9U2QxoCvigQAvD_BwE&hvadid=441872883578&hvdev=m&hvlocphy=1010543&hvnetw=g&hvqmt=e&hvrand=2173645752481751356&hvtargid=kwd-812801553812&hydadcr=3388_2030343&keywords=disney+princess+style+series&qid=1664133973&qu=eyJxc2MiOiIzLjEzIiwicXNhIjoiMS44NCIsInFzcCI6IjEuNTAifQ%3D%3D&sr=8-12
It's not new, according to this post on youloveit, the release date was in June 2022. I get your issue though, I also found out about the Disney Style Series way too late and now I can't find Mulan anywhere.
I did find Ariel on the Canadian Amazon, don't know if you're able to shop from there? Here's the link
Good luck if you decide to go after the convention 1MC Barbie in the black outfit, I do see them listed on ebay for $50-100 somewhat often, not a cheap one. A handful of the BTS Prestige easier to find, actually V's whole outfit might be a good alternative (although the pants will be a tad more baggy): LINK
Suga's black cuffs are not attached to the white shirt, he is a very nice almost gothic aristocratic(?) inspired doll too: LINK
I didn't have to alter my #170 (she was my first MTM rebody iirc), but I have widened neck holes on my FailFix franken hybrids. I usually do shorten the neck peg, but on the Signature Looks that already use a short style peg. I might try your rubberband trick though if I decide to give it another go (putting Kit's head on the blonde Stardoll's body, perfect skin tone match btw).

Here's a link to one on Amazon. I'd remembered wrongly, it was Secret Service, not FBI. Yeah, by your rules they're definitely action figures. They're sold as action figures too, but I think of them as dolls. They can even exchange clothes with Ken, though they are a little shorter.
It's deliberate. She's supposed to have vitiligo. That's a skin condition. There are also several Barbie dolls with vitiligo.
https://www.amazon.com/578314EUC-Vitiligo-2-Designer-Accessories-Collectors/dp/B09BP1G2TR
You should be able to wipe it off with nail polish remover.
The closest I can think of are those little models for drawing manga and such. They are between 5 an 6 inches:
Ah, here we go, I found it in my Amazon shopping history. It's called "Monster High Monster Maker Primary Extension Pack" but I have no idea where you could find it now. Doing a quick search I didn't see anything.

there this boxy girls doll on amazon
Look for elastic bands for braids and it will be easier to find, but I found them in black in two places para should be easy for someone in the US:
Not what you asked for, but, black sewing thread could last longer and you wouldn't have to worry about plastic deterioration overtime, if you wanna give that a shot.
Don't know if this is viable for you, but Amazon UK still has them in stock from the official Bratz store ( https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bratz-580324EUC-Designer-Pride-Doll/dp/B09BNZKJH7/ref=sr_1_2?crid=1TT0LOPB1RNZI&keywords=bratz+pride&qid=1654461387&sprefix=bratz+pride%2Caps%2C258&sr=8-2 ). They won't be shipping until the end of July/ start of August though. You could try using proxy shipping services for them? Or maybe you just buy directly from Amazon UK, I'm not sure if that's possible, but it's worth a try. :)
The twins are sooo pretty in person. I was on the fence about them, but then hubs surprised me for my bday. Plus with the sale price on US Amazon and US Walmart, it’s a good deal. The little trunks are super great for doll accessory storage.
If you like to redress your dolls, it’s a good time to grab a few from series 3 since they come with extra clothes. You could get Sheryl and Daria for basically the price of the twins!

You should totally get one! It’s not too bad if you know where to look! Amazon.co.jp and amiami both stock liccas and ship to the us. I think amiami has the best deals. I’m thinking of getting this playline one when it releases. If you’re looking to spend less, you can buy factory heads on AliExpress, and cheapish bodies too! The castle dolls are gorgeous but they are made in Japan and sold exclusively at licca castle so they are spendy to import. ;-; (this Jessica is a castle doll)
Here's a link cuz I don't really know her exact details. She's on sale right now! I got her at target for $25 in Texas if that helps you any
Yeah, she had a chalkboard set. It made noise!
https://www.amazon.com/Mattel-Classroom-1st-Recalled-1995/dp/B004UOFZD4
I remember my sister had it. What is the one in the neon dress? She had that one too.
Wow! You got Jett Black (doll with the rainbow bangs) for a really good price! Even cheaper than mines, which I got for $27 on clearance! She's a collectors edition! Rainbow High is still new, so there are no rare ones. There is Lily Chen which is a premium collectors doll, but she's only sold online and at a much higher price. Boxes are no good if you plan to unbox the dolls, just throw them away. Although, some collectors cut out the artwork from the box to display on walls. :)
I found the old Amazon Japan listing for her (here) but she's unavailable since she's an older doll (from about 2010 it looks like). You could try searching sites like Yahoo Japan auctions with the phrase しーちゃん人形 メガハウス (Shii-chan doll MegaHouse) or ロングヘアのしーちゃん 人形(long hair Shii-chan doll) to find her second hand.
Do you know which company makes her? If you can ID the maker, you'll be probably able to find her. I was google-ing and all I could find were some look alike Bandai dolls made for Disney.
It’s been my experience that the fashion packs with the black and white stripe background (mostly 2019/2020) fits curvy Barbie very well. I’d actually say all the ones I’ve bought fit curvy better! Here’s an example of the box style I’m talking about. They are pretty easy to find on US Amazon and Walmart.

It looks like your coats are too thick, I like to mix this stuff with the paint (cheap is fine) & use thin coats until I get the look I want.
I actually have no Barbie's in my collection, so can't say yes or no for sure. I believe that they have similar proportions to Monster High/EAH possibly? I think the only way to find out is to try it, and the original Hairmazings are still a good price. Here, let me link you one on Amazon US:

This one is Noah from the first series and is a pretty good price if you're interested
Because that’s the one I’m talking about. I wish they had like a made to move version. But I have a feeling that won’t happen. I might get them anyways. Just so I have them.

I’m not sure if it’s the same doll or brand but I found one that might be similar on Amazon but the colors of the clothes are different but the shoes are still purple. I also found one with brown hair.
I was looking at my local classifieds and found one that looks almost exactly like this, but with pink eyeshadow instead of purple. Thought you might enjoy knowing about your doll's twin. Exactly. OP, there are literally hundreds of different "Barbie" dolls, i.e. dolls representing Barbie, her sisters or her friends.
The only doll with dark hair and green sunglasses I could find was "Sit in Style Teresa". She's from 1999. She also seems to be wearing green shoes. No dress or bathing suit, though.
Hope you get this, since it's been a minute....just recently joined FaceBook and there's an ID group there, and a pic of one of the dolls fit your drawing, sort of. Everything matches but this one has articulated wrists, here's a link to the nude body I found, which seems to be a Barbie Fashionista Summer doll and according to the auction she was from 2012. So still not what you're looking for, I don't think, but maybe closer?

Monster High and Ever After High are hit or miss, as the arch is a bit different
I’m not sure what you mean by anime doll, but I’ve recently become smitten with Licca. I find their faces so sweet and charming. I have one on the way I ordered from Amazon japan! The one I ordered is play line quality and quite affordable: https://www.amazon.co.jp/-/en/gp/aw/d/B07S94WLVM?ref=ppx_pt2_mob_b_prod_image. I've been looking all over for these and for a while the only place I could find them was Amazon but 'out of stock'... now finally IN STOCK! placed my order :)
For the one on the left, probably the darker skin soccer player, but be warned that her upper arm is usually stained a little from the jersey (all 3 of mine have ben anyway). The Floral pant bun yoga is the same skin tone but usually more expensive.
For right, I'd guess most millie face ones would be close, but the best might be the redhead yoga: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015EB29ZS/ref=twister_B09KPWSR2V?_encoding=UTF8&th=1
The hook on Barbies is entirely useless. The disc is enough. That's all that they had for decades before the hook.

It's funny, searching for a tutorial, there is none. I use pliers, but you can probably use scissors. Make certain to use the deep part of the scissors, not the tips. And go slowly.
Hey there, yes I do fill in all the holes typically. Once you get a technique down, get into a flow, it's really straightforward. The only hard part is the hairline. If I want it perfect, I have to slow down and change my technique. Also, older or cheaper dolls don't have as much hair. I recently rerooted a BTS Boy doll and he had soooo many holes. It took forever. And I guess if you split the scalp anywhere, it takes time to glue/sew it. Can't really work on a head while the glue is drying.
But you know, I did leave out some time. There's prepping (~10 minutes), gluing (drying takes hours), and styling. Depending on the style, that can add a lot of time especially if you want to curl the hair.
They are a little hard ot find in retail stores, but I occasionally see some in Macys, TJ Max, DD's Discounts etc. There are a bunch of releases though, many of which come with little animals. You might need to act fast to get one shipped in time for xmas.
Here is another version of Bashley, very similar to the one I linked before but this one includes a guitar and pet. Bother releases should wow a 6 year old, but the first one (Dino Rockin Party) comes in MUCH flashier packaging: https://www.amazon.com/Mattel-Lavender-Prehistoric-Accessories-Exclusive/dp/B08J4GW95M/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=cave+club+bashley&qid=1639300353&s=toys-and-games&sr=1-1
CAVE CLUB DINO ROCKIN BASHLEY
Rainbow High and OMG are great looking dolls are certainly have the wow factor, but for a child to play with... they kinda suck. It can be stupidly difficult for a child to dress them, they are extremely top heavy and awkward to hold, and their articulation can be finicky.
Cave Club on the other hand are the perfect size and weight, amazing looking, FUN accessories, and are easily posable.
I just went to the pharmacy and asked for benzoyl peroxide cream, and they gave me something like this. Just ask for the 10% one.
Well, if they can swap with Hairdorables, maybe Kuu Kuu Harajuku clothes would work. The Kuu Kuu Harajuku outfits are running $1.25 at Ollies here. I’ll admit to getting the Prom Perfect Melody Hairdorable specifically to dress her in the sushi roll dress. It seems like the Kuu Kuu Harajuku works for the Hairmazing Hairdorables, and the slender-bodied FailFix dolls, so maybe look for some FailFix? Hairmazing Hairdorables also have a fashion pack on Amazon for $3.00, so that may be worth a try for the Novistar... also it looks like Pinkie Cooper’s stuff can be swapped with these lines.

A Blume doll? They have crazy hair pieces, but when you pop the hair off, they have little buns to hold the hair on. They’re about 4 inches tall without their hair.
I use nylon earring that are reminiscent of the Diamond jewelry Barbie used to wear. The nylon posts allow me to bend the post to either form an “L” shape or folding the post back on itself. Either way, I’ve had pretty good luck and I enjoy the aesthetic of the final result. And no worries about metal and plastic reacting! Earrings
I’ve bought a lot in the past couple months because I got into RH and back into American girl. Prior to that I hadn’t bought any dolls in years.
A couple days ago I ordered this Ariel style series doll. I have a small collection of Ariel dolls and she was the last one I wanted. So I’m not buying anymore dolls until closer to Christmas now.
They are EVA BJD 1/3 Dolls from Amazon. I bought their wigs and clothes separately.

Just some observations I have:
-Doll's head thoroughly reminds me of old Christmas and Halloween decorations, such as this 1940s Elf on the Shelf ornament
-Hands are a different time from the face completely
-Like you said, dress seems handmade - body does too
I think your idea of it being handmade is true, but the best bet you have to identifying any part would be the face I think!
This is the reason I don't have all my dolls on display (that, and lack of space haha). It's a hell of a job to dust the ones I do have on display so I only do it like once or twice a year :s I just take them off the shelves one by one and use a camera cleaning brush to dust them. The ones with black hair are especially tricky to dust since you see everything. So I also use a microfiber cloth or some other type of cloth or tissue (doesn't have to be fancy) and a tiny bit of water to wipe them down. That works for stands as well. Sometimes I dip one of my fingers in the water and gently wet their hair if it's really bad.
Amazon has Yasmin listed as out of stock, but you can still order her.
A poster today was asking about posable dolls when I realized I never told you guys about this Billie Eilish doll I got off amazon. She’s the most flexible doll i’ve ever owned! I got her to repaint but decided against it since the faceup she has already is just so pretty. Regardless of how you feel about Billie, this is an incredibly high quality doll and only cost me 23 bucks. Definitely recommend checking out some of her dolls if you haven’t already, Link
okay hear me out, there’s billie eilish dolls on Amazon and the one I got is beautifully articulated, extremely posable and very budget friendly. also she has a very realistic faceup. here
She is a Ucanaan Eva BJD doll 1/3 usually found on Amazon for a pretty penny. I have two. The one you have came with an outfit set in it's origianal state. She's only wearing half her outfit in this pic.
Here's a link to the brand and one you have. Hope it helps
Ok so I thought she was from AliExpress, but she’s actually from Amazon. I bought her for the outfit mainly, but she’s actually a pretty doll once you give her a bit of love!

Mine is the skull shores version but I got her second hand and she looked more like this flickr photo except a tad more up and not facing outward but pinned more to her head. She's in storage in my closet right now but I redid her hair so I couldn't show you what I meant anyway lol. The only other pics I have seen are stock images like this first image on amazon
a blank doll would be so cool! would for sure make things easier for customizers.
Also i have one more question, Since you had these dolls for a bit. Do you have a guess what the fabric they use on them? I was thinking about getting this fabric (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01COV1EWU/ref=ox\_sc\_act\_title\_3?smid=A5E984U90G1AK&psc=1) but I don't know if that's way too different or not. :S
I think they do have a line of little ones!
You should! I mean, this is NOTHING compared to how she looks in real life, the doll’s glossy gradient hair dye job is a piece of art! As how I got it, you can order it on Amazon or Target. I suggest you do order pick up at Target(if they’re available in your area). And it’s not your regular series/set. You only get this doll or her pet ox! I left some links down below :)

Pinterest has some great patterns! Other tips: * Velcro/hook and loop tape is not worth your time. It's bulky, hard to sew and loses its grip with time. Get the smallest snaps you can find, metal for preferance. * The Clover Mini Iron will be your saviour. It's a tiny little iron, perfect for getting into those awkward corners, just don't use the piddling stand they give you and keep it in a tin while you're working instead. * Cottons and linens will often look beautifully draped if you soak them, rubber-band them onto the doll and then leave them to dry.
Also, where did you get her? She's lovely
I found this when searching for Disney Princess doll crowns... That seller looks like they're making copies/knock off of existing crown to sell, but there's no other information about where the original crowns come from. Could they possibly be Ever After High crowns? The gold and silver makes me think of that, though they were hardly the only dolls to use that theming.
