Congrats on your discovery! I have general anxiety disorder, depression and this month was diagnosed with inattentive ADHD in which executive disfunction plays a massive part (for me at least) and this Brain Hacks: Life-Changing Strategies to Improve Executive Functioning was very interesting read. I suggest getting ADHD assessment once again (especially if you felt better on Adderall). Getting official diagnose helps with getting work adjustments (if you are in UK look up Access To Work scheme for funding ie. to get coaching). I am also new to this and on the hunt for solution atm considering signing up for this. Hope it helps!
Organizers. Organizers EVERYWHERE. I have one like this on every surface that tends to collect stuff: https://smile.amazon.com/Mindspace-Office-Organizer-Compartments-Collection/dp/B01GVQB0J6/ref=mp_s_a_1_13?crid=2CQD8JM3J2R9W&keywords=desk+organizers&qid=1638503233&sprefix=desk+o%2Caps%2C139&sr=8-13
I have one on the kitchen table, one on the side table by the sofa, one on my actual desk.
I have a spice rack, a hanging file box, an under the sink organizer, a printer paper organizer (I have different types plus laminate), a crafts rolling cart with drawers, book bins, blanket baskets...you get the idea. I've learned that I have to make it so everything has a place. It might be a haphazard place, but there's a place.
"A place for everything and everything in its place" is now basically my motto. You wouldn't know it to look at my house lol, but it is 10x more organized now than it used to be, and it's just because everything has a place
My Dr. recommended a book called Brain Hacks to me. I bought it but haven’t read it yet because, well, I lost it. The irony is not lost on me… BRAIN HACKS: Life-Changing Strategies to Improve Executive Functioning https://www.amazon.ca/dp/1641521600/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_i_YVPKMM844GFA1YPXV0M2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
People really have trouble with that, they think only of fidget spinners when it comes to fidgets. But textures are really fantastic non distracting fidgets, which are honestly far superior. I also find the keychains with a marble in some netting to be seriously awesome.

Then I’m sooo happy you stumbled across it ❤️ it’s so healing when you find something that actually ‘fits’, knowing that there is absolutely nothing ‘wrong’ with you...these symptoms are just the inevitable result of a chronically overactivated nervous system. And it’s so treatable. Things that I thought were ‘me’ were actually just a trauma response.
