Easy $15 solution that works great on my FJ
I got them through Amazon because I didn't want to trust the shadiness of eBay. The install was super easy although I already had things wired up previously for my amber lights. The amber lights were also from Amazon they were super cheap and these lights are very durable and water proof. I wired everything myself ground wire goes ground and hot wire the fuse box and through the rubber wall and on a wire fuse tap to a startup with ignition empty fuse. The lights have there own fuse and only start up when I turn on my ignition. They're super bright and work very well and are good quality I was surprised how good they looked. But I will say you need to know how to do your wiring to do it.

I will also be trying the headlight kit soon if yall are interested in the results of that.
You could get a new one and spray the blacks on your FJ (the rack and anything else) with this stuff to make all of the blacks darker. It'll improve the look of the sun fade drastically and help protect it from future fade. Plus it would probably make the color difference on the rack not noticeable.
Cerakote headlight restoration kit
I picked up my kit at walmart for a similar price for anyone who doesn't want to wait for shipping and wants to try it on their headlights
I've had these interior LED's in place since January 2015 according to my Amazon history:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009E1BW08/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Very bright and work great.
Amazon has them for like $45. It sounds like it takes two people to install it easiest or just pay a vinyl shop or tint guy to put it on.
Most reliable vehicle on the road. The only vehicle more reliable than a corolla.
Get small blindspot mirrors and stick them on the far top corners of your side mirrors. No more blindspots.
Like that but top left for driver and top right for passenger.
If you dont do long commutes. Otherwise the fuel tank is only 400km and its as efficient as a v8.
put down a plastic garbage bag and spray closed cell foam into the area then cut it level in the back... easy peasy... love the table except it won't work with my 33's... wait a minute, it looks like its adjustable!!! Did you make it or buy it? yeah no - $137. I can get a $40 plastic Costco table and modify it.
Found it https://www.amazon.com/TailGater-Tire-Table-Vehicle-Tire-Mounted/dp/B06Y1GRNWG
Looks like a good build you've got there. Speaking of a Mod List, have you seen this app? The dev is pretty active on a few Facebook FJ pages. This is the Android version, there is also an iPhone version
Not OP, but I use FillUp. It's not fancy looking, but exports backups as simple text files and doesn't have any of the "connected" stuff like ads, gas station listings, or GPS requirements. (Personal preference.)
At the pump, I type in the odometer reading, gallons purchased and the total paid. It tracks the $/gal, mpg, and all that. Tells you the mpg since your last fill up, and will also tell you average mpg over all your fill ups. Perfect, simple. Way better than my homebrew spreadsheet (because this is something I actually remember to use).
Started using it on 3/29/14, for every single fill up, and my average is 15.8mpg.
Hey I went to college down there. If you're still looking for a place to wheel some more, check out Gordy's Hill. There is a pretty decent trail over there. Be safe and stay warm.
Amazon! Just came back in stock. Easy to put on, did it myself.

Upgraded horn with this. Needed to change some connectors to get to work but it does just fine.
I think for $35 it was a major improvement.
You could probably just buy some roofing rubber like this:

and make your own gaskets. They may have smaller rolls but it's pretty handy stuff. I bought a small roll 10 years ago and still use it to this day. It's never became stiff or cracked and works like a charm every time.

Edit: you probably want the 1/16" thickness, not the 1/8".
I would suggest ordering the replacement clips for the corner cowling at the bottom of the driver side windshield. Sooner or later they all come loose. You can buy the kit on Amazon:

From what I have read on the FJ Cruiser forums, this one is the least expensive, but still viable model.
Tape a small hose big enough to suck up the feed but small enough to fit through vent hole to a shop vac hose. Then tape the other end to one of these. You can snake through with the camera and make sure you get all the little bits.

I used these:

I already had the rear door panel off to install the backup cam. So while I had it off, I laid out the clamps/brackets where I liked them. Drilled a hole through the panel (one for each bracket) and then secured with a one inch #10 screw, two inch washer on the back, and a nylon lock nut.
I use nit ize and it's been absolutely fantastic! Ive put it through hell off roading and my phone hasn't fallen once. Highly recommend.
Thank you for the kind words. Unfortunately, I don't have any steering wheel controls, so I wouldn't have anything helpful to add to that.
As far as the dongle goes, I bought this one https://www.amazon.com/ATOTO-AC-WCPAA48-Updated-Version-Wireless/dp/B089DDTPJ8?ref_=ast_sto_dp. It works great, I would recommend it. I will say I've only ever used it for wireless CarPlay and it does take roughly 15-30 secs to connect fully. (Which isn't a problem for me but it should be noted). I have the dongle hidden behind the button panel and rarely have a problem with its connection.
I also highly recommend the Atoto unit as well (they make a universal Toyota model that fits the FJammer cutout perfectly): https://www.amazon.com/ATOTO-A6Y2721PR-Double-Android-Navigation/dp/B07G7X2ZJ3/ref=pd_di_sccai_1?pd_rd_w=P1WU9&pf_rd_p=c9443270-b914-4430-a90b-72e3e7e784e0&pf_rd_r=CFKYRHX9WY49T78EHQRV&pd_rd_r=0a38797f-e216-4899-9086-715f4587f235&p...
I wired my own camera into this head unit, and there is a dongle that can be plugged into the back to use both Apple and Android Auto.

Found it at harbor freight for $10 bucks. Popped the old horn off (it's secured by 1 screw behind the grill under the hood). Connected the + wire that's connected to the OEM horn to the + on the new horn. Grounded the - on the new horn to the frame.
Used the existing screw and mount that was connected to the OEM horn to mount the new horn.
It was much easier than I thought it would be.

One super reasonably priced upgrade that I love in my FJ is an interior LED lighting kit. These replace the crappy interior OE lights. Long amazon link, but these are basically what you can get:
ATOTO A6: $250 on Amazon. Look for the Toyota specific unit (205mm x 104mm). Fits the factory mounts without having to buy a cheap install unit to fill the side gaps, plugs directly in, works with steering controls, Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, has an Apple car play module, multiple USB ports, AUX input, two video inputs, micro SD slot, AirPlay, preamp outputs, etc. It has a few quarks, and you’ll need to do your research to make sure you’re buying the right size, but hard to beat the functions and price point.
Here is the link to the specific kit I used.
They're really good. only a little more difficult to install than replacing a stock headlight lamp. I've used them for a full day of driving in 100+ heat without overheating. They have fans on the back to help cool them, I spray the fans with compressed air every time I refill the windshield washer fluid just incase there is anything blocking the fans but they've never actually needed to be cleared.
The one thing to be aware of is that they are full brightness all the time, running in DRL mode is the same brightness as with the headlights on, but for me this is not a concern.
I've replaced all the other lights except for the turn signals (interior dome, license plate, mirror, break/rear running, and reverse) with LED now too, as they were all starting to burn out in my 2008 with 150k miles. A couple hours of work but I like the result. The LED reverse lights also make a huge, huge difference in my ability to see backing up my driveway at night. Wish I'd done those sooner.
That tent gets so hot since is black and absorbs more energy.
Lay a mylar sheet on the top to reflect all that heat.
First of all...I get these super risk averse Scrooge's point bc safety is important but in my defense I was rolling under 20mph with 0 traffic for a 10 second video with a similar screen setup as a Tesla so you can see the road while looking at the screen but I do deserve the hate from righteous internet strangers ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I found this Binize 10.1 inch Android head unit on amazon with pretty decent specs:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07WV34MFR/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Installing was strait forward with the wire harness except I couldn't get the mounting bracket to work with the OEM setup so I had to bend the mounting bracket on the unit around the FJ dash plate to make it sit snug and zip tied it down to to reinforce it but for 200 bucks it's a significant sound & aesthetics upgrade. Plus it can piggy back off your phones wifi hotspot and can use native waze or google maps app without having to do carplay.
I have the cheap ones from Amazon, honestly they are not too bad, especially at $128.
I had bushwhackers before but changed when I ditched my snorkel. They are a little better quality but not enough to justify the cost in my opinion. Note, both will rub you clear coat a little. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07K1M669H/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_EJd6Eb0NRSV9T
I bought it from Amazon but I'm pretty sure I'm the only person that bought one from this seller. Shipping took forever and there were 0 instructions, seriously. No diagram or anything. The seller went Out of Stock after I bought mine and I haven't seen them in stock again. Alternatively, I tried ordering from Aliexpress and my bank and credit cards all denied the transaction.

I personally wanted the touch buttons on the left side so I could have some degree of control if an app got stuck and it was definitely the right decision for me. I also wanted the larger OEM buttons so I didn't get the super wide one.
I have been looking to upgrade the whole SUV with LED , initially i wanted those fancy new led light housing from Freedom Retrofits, but between those and a bumper i ll pay as much as i paid for the whole SUV 😂😂 so now just updating bulbs , maybr i will try these
Put silicone lubricant on the rubber tracks. Honda Silicone Grease is supposed to be the best
Try one of these or similar...fairly common squeak as they age especially the more weight that is put on the door or constant use or both. They should be cheaper around Black Friday, I think I payed like $8 last year... https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B08YNNZVTQ
The front Dif I have this for plugs: 90341-24014 and 90341-18032

toyota parts I always order from toyotapartsdeal.com

ALLMOST Set of 8pcs Moulding Clip... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08JK9GCJD?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
These are knock offs from Amazon for $9. You can find others in pure FJ for about $16.
Just look for FJ cowl clips.
I also recommend looking at any of the YouTube videos out there showing the install process because the four different clips for that piece are each shaped differently I think and you need to know which one goes where.
So it looks like the kit itself is about $85:
https://www.amazon.com/Toyota-Cruiser-Genuine-Removal-Delete/dp/B07M5RHJR8
I replaced the OEM a couple of years ago with a warrior rack and it wasn't that difficult.... Except 1 bolt was frozen and I had to drill it out (hind sight - penetrating oil on all the bolts the night before would have likely prevented this). You don't have to fully remove the head liner, just pull it back a bit so you can get your hand up there.
Assuming a no frozen bolt, you can do this in your garage in about 2 hours. Goober up the bolts going in with silicon to assure no leaks.
Let us know how it goes.
I don't think Toyota offers that but you should be able to order a rebuild kit from an auto parts store if you have the correct part number for the alternator. I know Amazon offers rebuild kits for the 2007-2010 but I dont know if it will work with the later ones or not. You'd have to look at part numbers to be sure.

I’ve been running a dirty parts cart for 3 or 4 years now and have been super happy with the results. I didn’t end up using the switch sine I had a switch-pro installed to help clean up and simplify wiring. Running dual AGMs and I’ve been able to jump myself before and run my ARB fridge in the Texas summer without moving the FJ for 3 days (and likely could go longer).
Price for the kit is 429 with everything but the battery.
Also if you’re going to do this, do a big three wire upgrade while you are in there. A few folks on the forums and locally recommended the NVX True Spec 1/0 Gauge 100% OFC Wire Big 3 Amp Wiring Update Kit. It was 80 bucks when I got it and has gone up to 100 bucks but the wiring is heavy duty and def made things a bit more bomb proof, especially the grounding wire and alternator wire.

Get plastic scraper that looks like razor.
Try something like the 3M Adhesive Vinyl Remover Wheel. It basically heats up and peels off the vinyl without harming the paint.. There are videos on YouTube that will help… Be prepared to power-buff the area after you remove the vinyl as the area usually doesn’t match the rest of the truck…

I've heard decent things about the FJ. Haven't had the chance to drive in myself. If I were to consider a lighting option that doesn't scream "I wanna be a jeep soooooo bad" id recommend something like this that embraces the FJ's goofy appearance 8n a classy way.

I've had these LED reverse lights on my 2013 FJ for two years so far, they're super bright and haven't had any issues.
Here are the ijoy lights that I got off an Amazon a few months ago. Quality is there.
Also I just switched out the headlights with LEDs too earlier this year.
I believe they were nitro ridge grapplers on painted stock wheels

I have this one, front and back. Essentially the rear view mirror is a constant back up camera that changes angles when in reverse. It records front and back.
I wasn't happy with the quality of the hardware it came with so I went to my local ACE Hardware and got some studs and cut to size, some bigger washers and some nylon locking nuts and thread locked the studs into the badge. I can try to get some pics of it for you tomorrow.

Hmm. I think if you had larger more aggressive tires it might look alright. I deleted my mud flaps and prefer that now. I 've been thinking of getting aftermarket fender flares (Bushwackers).
This is why I bought a dashcam. Not sure if you had one at the time of the accident but whenever you get a new ride it’s always safe to pick one up because even if it is your fault it still helps. Here’s a link to the one I purchased - Kingslim Dashcam I wired it through the headliner along the entire passenger side of the car. It comes with a front and rear camera. For $100 it’s a great “just in case” insurance policy. Safe driving everyone and I wish you sir a speedy recovery.
Here's the one I picked up but there's a few options.
