For those having problems I found that this works...
use fitzyTV version 2.53 or 2.54. Don't upgrade to version 2.61.
Here is their complete email to me:
Google has taken down the app temporarily and we're trying to work with them to figure out what the issue is. If you know how to sideload, you can get the apk from here: https://apkpure.com/fitzytv-free-streaming-tv-aggregator-cloud-dvr/com.fitzytv.android
I download it and installed using X-plore (Play Store)... Exit out of X-plore and launch FitzyTV. Works!
Ok... Got in touch with FitzyTV customer service. They are working with Google to get it back on there, but sent me the link to download the app.

If you want a comparable service to Fitzy, you could do Channels Plus -- but you'd need a local DVR, like a NAS or always-on PC, rather than the cloud. (Although that might improve reliability as well.)
It was originally built for OTA but has recently added support for TV Everywhere channels too.
Try Channels Plus. It started out as an over-the-air app/DVR but they've added "TV Everywhere" channel support now too. The DVR storage is local, though, not cloud -- but that might be more reliable?
Ah, Low VHF, sorry!
Here is one for $63 shipped at Amazon that picks up low VHF, according to the reviews:

Doesn't Locast interrupt the stream unless you donate $5 a month? Seems like an antenna could still be a decent investment -- and compared to the reception of an indoor antenna, or the streaming quality of Locast, it would probably be beneficial across all OTA channels, not just channel 6.
I had this issue, so the dev checked my account and told me both providers are registered. Are you losing access to channels when updating provider info?
Website would be nice, but you may also have good luck using the Nvidia Shield TV app on a phone/tablet so you can use the keyboard input there, certainly easier than on the Shield.
