Looks like she published a book in august 2012: https://www.amazon.com/What-Story-Psychology-Psychoanalysis-Psychotherapy-ebook/dp/B07BWKWLT7/?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_w=dFylJ&content-id=amzn1.sym.38bb2fca-b288-4f86-afed-5132328a7c6d&pf_rd_p=38bb2fca-b288-4f86-afed-5132328a7c6d&pf_r...
You can see in the description by whoever is promoting the book (her, her publisher?) that there are quotes from other folks in her profession reviewing it & one references this article, so my guess is this article is connected to a regional & modest PR push for her book.
Have you read the description for the book on Amazon?
“"I was looking for any way out, some Mad Hatter to lead me down a rabbit hole into a world where I didn't have to carry a clutch purse and want to be dominated by some guy with a crew cut and no neck...So that when I read Coming of Age in Samoa, my senior year in college, I was, to put it mildly, receptive.""--from the Introduction by Esther Newton”
Fun post! While we’re on the topic of Jane Austen and sapphics, has anyone else read Gay Pride and Prejudice?? It’s like Pride, and Prejudice, and Zombies, in that it takes the existing book and modifies it. Caroline Bingley takes on Darcy’s role as Lizzie’s love interest. It’s fantastic and it’s been my comfort read for the last several years.
My favorite book is If Not, Winter: Fragments of Sappho which is a collection of Sappho poems translated by Anne Carson! For anyone who is interested, Anne Carson translates Sappho beautifully Amazon Link Goodreads Link.
I posted my tattoo that includes Taylor Swift lyrics on here a few weeks back. My other tattoo, which you can't see in that photo, is a fragment of a Sappho poem! You can imagine how excited I am to see this post - two of of my favorite things colliding!!! lol
Thank you for the thoughtful comparison!
