So since I actually can't use the Action Director software on any computer in my house. (yay windows 10!) I did the next best thing, assume you already went through the trouble of stitching the images before noticing they are warped and you want to fix them after the fact.
my tutorial uses Hugin which is free and open-source so it's not like getting it is going to set you back. (Also I'm going to make a tutorial on how to get better panoramas by manually stitching. The images really come out nice using Hugin/ptGui. (ptGui is like Hugin but you have to pay for it.)
Just do a search for "camera car mount" on Amazon and it will show plenty of options, like this one:
Car Dashboard Suction Pad Mount,Car Sun Visor Holder,Tripod Mount Adapter for All GoPro HERO 4 3 Plus 3 2 1 Session LCD, EEEKit Car Mount Kit https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00S15OQD8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_HdXrzb1AFXB8P
Sure can! Just made this album moments ago. http://imgur.com/a/jnlju
You can pickup a 1/4" adapter for any GoPro piece at a variety of places, like Amazon or Best Buy (I got mine at Best Buy for $3)
And talking about random attachments, I picked something similar to this up years ago and using that cheap adapter I can reuse them all for my Gear 360
Yeah I got my Gear 360 (2016 version) off of Amazon for $85... which is quite a bit cheaper than the original price.
Just do a search on eBay or Amazon for Magnet camera mount and you will tons of choices of magnetic mount bases with a tripod socket screw on them. Screw the Gear360 onto the 1/4 screw of the mount and slap it on a metal part of the car.
I have the 2017 version (not the ball one) and it charges with a normal USB C cable. Should be able to get one from any electronic store, just got a fast charger and 2 cables from groupon
I did clear data/cache and that didn't help. I tried an older version and that didn't with either. I did see one more thing, but apparently to merge it with, I'd need to download something onto an SD card and put that card in the camera. It sounds promising, but I haven't had a chance to try it yet. I forget if it's in an earlier comment, but if not: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aktuna.gear.gear360fileaccess
I love the tripod I got from aliexpress, got the extra foot and use it as a monopod with foot. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/DiC-MiC-P303C-Carbon-Fiber-Tripod-monopod-For-camera-professional-Camera-stand-suitable-for-tall-photographer/32376630772.html
I know you've asked for an iMovie solution, but it seems like that wouldn't spare you problems in the future.
Have you considered using DaVinci Resolve instead?
The little table tripod stands are pretty generic and cheap on eBay or Amazon: https://smile.amazon.com/Universal-Smartphone-Stabilizer-Handheld-Shooting/dp/B089XXBZKR
As far as I know, the only remote is the cellphone app.
I use this to film my flights
360fly 4K ¼-20 Suction Mount - Limitless Camera Positioning
It's a suction mount, but the suction part and the part where the camera mounts to come apart so you can easily rig something that might mount better to what you have
After getting a couple scratches on my S8 (over confident in the gorilla glass and pissed about not being able to really use a tempered glass screen protector), I have been super paranoid about using my Gear 360. I have been pulling it out more, but still nervous. Budget is a little tight for the toys right now, but I think when in a few weeks I will try this out, at least for a little piece of mind.
Example:
https://www.amazon.com/Ricoh-TH-1-Water-resistant-Clear/dp/B014D22OSQ
I've seen many clones of this case, none rated safe enough for me to risk using. I want underwater badly as well.
I was going to mention the iKlip Grip, but now it seems they've come out with the iKlip Grip Pro for the same price.
http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/cat-view.php?C=stands
Your local Apple Store has the iKlip Grip on display and is selling for $49. I've tested it with the Gear 360 and it works great.
The closest one to that at a cheaper price is the BENRO Handheld Tripod 3-in-1 on Amazon for $27.
https://www.amazon.com/BENRO-Handheld-Self-portrait-Extendable-Bluetooth/dp/B01IPD50VC
Yeah I have a Polaroid monopod tripod thing..
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PHDKNY8/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I didn't take it when travelling. It's much better than hand held so you can actually get out of the way. The gear360 comes with its own mini tripod, but its very small.
The polaroid tripod needs careful placement since it can fall over easily. Just the nature of the setup. This shot best represents that setup.

My Pro rig is A7rii, with a actual arcaswiss type 360 head and gitzo carbon fiber.
Don't
In my experience videos turn out very bad which are recorded with a moving camera. Especially when viewed in a Gear VR. It's best to get a good light-stand (they are much more stable than tripods, and easier to carry) and have stationary camera shots.
In the movie you edit, you'll have to use much longer clips than you would in a regular video: you'll have to give time for the viewer to orient themselves, look around in each new scene.
These make the most enjoyable videos.
See my home video on our last ski trip → might feel slow on a computer, but it is actually too busy when viewed in a headset, so many things to discover.
This one plus the original tripod attached to the bottom of the selfie stick. It works ok but a small breeze can push it over :( I even scratched one of the lenses so now all of my images have a slight blur on the front lens
Not the same as your picture, but very similar: I bought a Sirui P-204S video monopod for my Gear 360 and have been in love with it since. Works way better than my tripod because it extends as high and the legs aren't as visible at the bottom of the image. Also works as a pseudo selfie-stick for taking 360 photos on the move.
Microphone stands (with 3 legs) can be a good option too. They're quite sturdy, have a reasonably small nadir footprint, and if carried with the legs spread, they stabilize the image, including yaw stabilization (as the spread legs give inertia).
You'll need a tripod screw adapter to attach the Gear360 but those should be easy to come by.
I am thinking that is something that GoPro made themselves; it is essentially a monopod on a tripod base.
So, I would recommend: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01442K112?psc=1
paired with
Or similar. The base should be really premium to have the best balance.
No problem. I use this for my GoPro. The end screws off for a standard 1/4" thread.
You could also use a cheap light stand like this if you are in a flat stable place.
It's a bit expensive, but:
Gear 360 is pretty much permanently attached to mine.
I'm using this monopod/selfie stick: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00W77LAAI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
attached to this mini tripod: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D76RNLS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It's not the most stable, and it's fallen over once on uneven ground, but on a level surface it works well
The one I'm using is this one: http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-ca/product/digipower-digipower-quikpod-gopro-selfie-expert-tp-qpgp-tp-qpgp/10369226.aspx?path=84bea2ee10a6fea8d6745dd060f3f204en02
But, as you can see, if you look down in the video, you can see a bit of a black line, that's the base of the stick. You could easily photoshop/after effects it, but just a heads up. The stick is fantastic though. Heavy duty and it extends quite a bit.
I also invested in the 6 GoPros + mount, and I'm using this monopod: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000VZS2EU/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
So far, it's been great. No complaints.
I bought this card when it was on sale for $60 about a month ago:
http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-Ultra-200GB-Micro-SDSDQUAN-200G-G4A/dp/B00V62XBQQ/
Currently priced at $80, but goes on sale quite frequently.
Does need an SD card, get one that's UHS Speed Class U3 and SD Speed Class 10. Like this one
You need the read/write speed for HQ video.
Perhaps someone here can help with settings. I have the 2017 version and I just changed the picture size and video resolution and stuff all to the highest/max.
I am not sure what phone apps can do it, I do my work on PC where I can actually see what I'm doing. Try these, I think there are more:
