Honestly, I don't know enough about vimwiki to answer this.
How about you give GitJournal a try and document the cases where it doesn't work?
The biggest difference that I see is that vimwiki doesn't only use markdown, and seems to have its own format. Could you point me to some reference of the syntax? I see this but it's not clear to me.
I imagine that there is a big overlap between VimWiki / Markdown + Obsidian / Org Mode. Since I support the latter two, I'll be happy to add VimWiki support as well IF I can get a designated person to test it out and file bugs.
Mini Update: I've fixed the bug, but I'm going to wait till Monday to make a new release, as the new version contains a lot of new threading code to optimize the git operations, and for the UI to feel snappier.
I want to test out this threading code more thoroughly over the weekend.
Till then, you can try out the dev version from fdroid - https://gitjournal.io/fdroid

sync is the fear of losing notes
I've really tried to make sure that you never lose a note. If you suddenly close GitJournal, it will automatically save the file (but not do a commit). Actually, I think I should periodically save the file as well, just in case GitJournal ever crashes.
No problem. I can relate. I read your post about personal energy levels and taking motivation into account - if it helps you, the best book I’ve ever read on this subject is “Your Brain at Work” by David Rock. He is a neuroscientist and gives a very practical framework for managing work based on mental abilities. Check it out if you have the time.

Hi.
This seems to be a popular request - however integrating with everyone custom provider - OneDrive/Google Drive/DropBox/Syncthing etc - would be too cumbersome. However I do want to provide a workaround.
I plan to expose the folder where the notes are stored in a public location so that you can then use tools such as - Autosync for Dropbox to sync the notes or Autosync for OneDrive
I've been trying to work on this last week, but it's proving to be trickier than I expected, I'm hoping to have it done by the end of the week.
Additionally, I plan to update the website with clear instructions on basic information about Git, how to use it (if you're interested), and work-arounds to use other syncing mechanisms.
Do you think that would work for you?
