Day 1:
Woke up late today(11:30a instead of 9:30a).
Actually cooked and ate breakfast, which isn't usual for me.
Went on a walk around 2p and got back home at 3:15p. I took the long way to a gas station, through my neighborhood instead of taking the main roads. Thankfully it was about 55 and not super cold today.
I completed Day 1 of 200 squats. I had done the 'Initial Test' on the 27th. I didn't realize that squats could kick my ass so hard.
I searched my closet for a few books to read over the next 40 days and have found three that I'll try to finish. The first, Predictably Irrational:The Hidden Forces That Shape Our Decisions; the second, How to Win Friends and Influence People; and the third, The Happiness Project. I picked up all of these books about a year ago and never made time to read them all the way through.
About How to Win Friends and Influence People. I made it about halfway through this book during a time when I was trying to find answers to solve social issues, and I think that I'll actually take my time with it instead of trying to use it as a band-aid solution.
Felt like I wanted play games today and didn't. Last night on Day 0 was a little humorous to me. I couldn't sleep and thought to myself “well, if I had games installed I would have just played them, but I can't, so I won't.”
Other things on the docket today are cleaning my desk/bedroom. Sketching for an hour and lastly writing for a bit. I'm trying not to include these 'updates' in my allotted writing time as it feels like cheating.
I've also decided to save these updates in a word file as well as posting them on here as sort of a journal to keep track of everything. I'm not sure if I'll update daily or every few days, but it felt important to do it on Day One.
Good luck and let me know if I can help you in anyway. If you want, I suggest you checking out Fitocracy. It's a great motivator and acts a social way of tracking your work outs. Message me your email address and I will invite you :)
If you're interested, I can send you an invite to Fitocracy
It's a nice little place to track your work out progress socially. Just message or reply back with your email address and I'll send out the invite.
Good luck!

You may find this useful. It has a 'nuclear modus', with the possibility of blocking every site but a few 'allowed sites'. With some creativity, you can only have a few minutes for Reddit each day, forcing you to only use Reddit for stuff like this. It has a lot of settings.
I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors.
OK so 37% through your challenge - how are you getting on, Captain?
Also, I hate to piss on your fire, but from what you have told us here, you're not likely to meet your targets at this rate. I plotted a chart based on the only 3 indicators you gave - Day 0, 1 and 7.
Would showing you to Fitocracy, [/r/LoseIt](/r/LoseIt) and [/r/GetMotivated](/r/GetMotivated) help as well?
I really hope you make it as you sound so determined!
EDIT: I updated the chart to show how you can get this back on track by adding a 'back-on-track' line. When you can weigh yourself, put that amount into the corresponding day and it should re-plot the graph (blue line)
Oh man, this is going to be embarrassing. I've always been told resumes (ESPECIALLY cover letters) are overkill on fast food jobs and what I've been shooting for, so mine is a bit lacking. It has, at least, gotten me an interview so far. Should I really write a cover letter for McDonald's?
Please be harsh, but fair. (I realize there's a lot of reference to things done in high school, but I used this for campus jobs, so I'll be editing it for other jobs.)
Doable. Very doable. In 40 days I went from averaging ~28 to averaging ~39, and did well enough to teach for The Princeton Review. And I'm NOT super smart or a savant or even that good of a test taker. I studied my ass off. You can do the same and get the same results. My advice: do as many practice problems as you can. Do a full-length practice test at least once a week. Any concept you miss, go read that part of the review book. Do more practice problems. When out walking to class/your car/making dinner/getting ready for bed, listen to the Khan Academy lectures on chemistry, bio, and physics. You can for sure beat a 33. Good luck man.
Good luck on your challenge!
If you need a good motivator, Fitocracy is an awesome social media site that rewards you for exercising. PM me an email address and I will invite you if you're interested :)
I've been using FlashDevelop with the Flex SDK. Both are available for free which is much less expensive than Adobe Flash Professional.
Don't know how much you know about programming in general, so hard to give tips...
But if you're just starting with server-side programming....XAMPP is great.
Thanks I'm checking them out, and they seem quite interesting. So far I have Man's Search For Meaning by Viktor Frankl and Entangled by Graham Hancock. I am also going to read Starting Strength and Mindfulness in Plain English I just don't know whether to include them in my list or not because they go hand-in-hand with some of my goals.
Learned Optimism: How to Change Your Mind and Your Life is a little book that could help you on your journey. Additionally, you can look into cognitive behavioral therapy (which is a proven way to change the way you think, feel and act).
Good luck!
Fitocracy might help. ~~I will message you an invite code to get on there~~. It will help with motivation tremendously.
This website helped my motivation in untold amounts...
I also managed to add 10kg to most of my exercises in ONE WEEK after signing up. The website is awesome.
May I recommend #FistbangFriday group, too?
How is it going? this helped me stop, also my gf and a friend of hers after recommending it. http://www.amazon.com/Allen-Carrs-Easy-Stop-Smoking/dp/0615482155
It contains an interesting view that IMO you can also apply to other addictions.
