Are you only having two 400-calorie Huel meals per day? If so, you probably are not meeting your micronutrient needs. Huel is meant to be nutritionally complete at 2000 calories, so if you are eating less than that, it will not be covering all of your micronutrient needs. So it will mostly depend on what exactly you're eating for your third meal and any snacks that you're having throughout the day. I would recommend plugging in a day of eating into Cronometer to see which nutrients (if any) your diet is lacking.
If you can, install one of these bad boys. Works really well for my shakers, since I also can't get my hand down in there.

I’ve always used this one which blends in the bottle too. I’ve had it for over a year and it’s been amazing, but lately I’ve been thinking of treating myself to a more powerful one.
I use the Nando's Peri-Peri sauces Here on Amazon . Some bags I for sure get a bit more floral taste than others but the Garlic hot sauce usually mellows it out for me
The normal 20oz cups that come with my magic bullet blender are 1000x than the huel bottle, and are probably still 100x than this from what I can tell. This just looks like a pretty redesign with no practical purpose or reason.
I use one of these and it fits about half a bag, and it is 1.6L. I also use a couple of these which are 2.6L and it fits about 3/4 of a bag. So you probably want about 3.5L to be safe if you want to fit the entire bag in. Its a larger volume than I originally expected. I bought the 2.6L containers thinking they would fit the entire thing. Now I fill each of the larger containers with chocolate and vanilla, and mix the rest together into the smaller one. So in all the 3 containers (2.6+2.6+1.6) equal 6.8L and perfectly fit 2 bags, so 6.8/2 = 3.4L per bag. I then keep them in a cupboard with the doors closed so no sunlight gets in.
Also a uni student, I recommend these pots from amazon.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01LXGAHMV/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Durable and easy to chuck in a back. Can hold 3 scoops. You get 2 pots that screw together for easy storage.
Hope this helps.
I use a Thermos. It has a metal interior. I make it in the Thermos and take it to work, it's 'cooked' and still warm whenever I have time to take a break to eat. The Thermos I linked below is a great size for a single serving of H&S and comes with a folding spoon. The spoon is unfortunately right-handed... https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07F2GR2YP/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_MT8Y9KXJQ6A9BT9KT06J
I don't like eating hot foods out of plastic either. Instead, I use a stainless steel double wall vacuum flask by Built (Thermos and several other brands make them too, but I'm in the UK and for me the Built ones were the best combo of looks and price point):
https://www.amazon.co.uk/BUILT-Double-Vacuum-Insulated-Stainless/dp/B083F8JYCY
I have 4 quart container, specifically two of these. But the metal is probably not worth it over plastic.
https://www.amazon.com/Airscape-Coffee-Storage-Canister-Beans/dp/B07W6RKJVF
It fits 1 bag pretty much exactly and is all metal so very aesthetic. I hate ugly plastic containers.
That's roughly what I was doing before, or what I do in a pinch! But, giving it a few hours has definitely softened the flax seeds and made them easier to digest.
This is the umami powder I use, there may be better ones out there, it was just the first and most affordable one I found at the Asian grocery store I used to live by: https://www.amazon.com/Takii-Umami-Powder-Fifth-Foods/dp/B00HYL4HK2. It does add some sodium, but that's been a bonus for me since I live in the desert and struggle to stay hydrated.

Decant it into tubs.
You'll need tubs that hold a MINIMUM of 4.6L for a full bag. Something like [this] (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Addis-Close-Rectangle-Storage-Litre/dp/B0009JLV1O/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=4.6+l+tub+with+lid&qid=1619518723&sr=8-4).
Pro tip: If you do this, turn the bag up-side-down and cut off the bottom with scissors. The top is crimped, and will make a mess if you pour it out this way. The bottom is wide and flat for easy pour.
I wonder if a decaf matcha would work? That way you don’t have to worry about the caffeine and you could add as much as you want for flavor.

the difference between huel shaken and huel blended in a magic bullet is night and day
it's well worth the $40 to make every huel meal better, i use this
I found the ultimate life hack for myself personally. I got this to be ultimately portable:
I went on tour earlier this year for five weeks and could have a meal any time with a water bottle and Vanilla 3.0.
Never had clumps, battery lasted all five weeks no charging, super easy to clean at the end of the day.
While at home it’s my only Huel companion as well. It looks like they’re out of this one, but there are other on Amazon I saw.
Cheers!
Change in shaker might help? I used the one that came with huel's first time purchase promo once annnd then I got a blender bottle.
I just add cold water to just above the ball. Then powder. Then however much water needed. Then shake. No more clumps or sludge. I always make mine the night before so it can chill in the fridge. You could make multiple the night before? I've left it in the fridge for an extra day before and it didn't taste or feel funny at all. The blender bottle cleans really nice and easy too.
Don't ever try to swirl mix it or use hot/warm water before hand, you'll get doughy sludge.
I've found these and ordered one. They're not bad and close enough to the Huel ones albeit the chest / tummy area is a bit looser
May i recommend one of these?
I have one of these, find the shakes are lump free 99% of the time
I pour water or milk in at the same time in increments and stir it all. Not chunky at all. This milk frother does wonders for $10.

I used to have one of those, problem is Im a pig and end up with rotten goo and stinky plastic. Plus we use the immesion regularly anyway.
If it helps anyone Ive been re-using these aluminum cups for over a year, so light and durable and compact stacking. Add some foil and that's my daily huel drinker, chugged during commute: https://www.amazon.com/Ball-Aluminum-Ultimate-Recyclable-Cold-Drink/dp/B08FCXK64W
i use this every day for my shakes! it won’t get it silky smooth like an ensure but it does help smooth it out. be sure you have the right ratio too. i find when i use extra huel, it stays chunkier
A scoop is about 7 tablespoons.
Black is 17 "meals" or 34 scoops * 7 tbspn = 238 tbspn = just shy of 15 cups
H&S is 7 "meals" or 14 scoops * 7 = just over 6 cups
I use these containers, which fit two bags of H&S and just shy of a full bag of black (dump it in the day you make your first shake from the bag and you should be fine).
I have these and these were very good: Chef's Path Airtight Food Storage... https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07VGT5MS4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
They don’t have sliding lids but the lids are quite easy to open
And it's going to be so much easier to find the flavor I want tomorrow morning, too! I can fit two bags of HS or 1 bag of black per container. Amazon link
3.6 qt version purchased here:

A full back of black fills it to the top. About 2 bags of H&S. /u/RobotDevil222x3
We just remove the lid off the top to scoop. Very easy, and not as prone to spills as using the bags, plus you don't get dust all over your hand.
It's these; https://www.amazon.com/dp/B087FBCNKN?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
I really like being able to see all of my options at once.
Looks like I'm using the 4 quart size. I think we got it as part of a set, but looks like you can also find it individually. Filling from empty, a bag of Huel will fit perfectly - you have to gently shake the container to get the power to settle just a smidge, and then you'll have to mostly bury the scoop.
They also make a 4.4 quart size that may be a more comfortable fit, but then or course it takes up more space in your pantry! I'd recommend taking a look at oxo's website to see the different sets you can buy - there's bound to be one that includes a size for Huel plus others that might fit your storage needs for other dry goods.
I would have also recommended Ikea's Tillsluta line, bit it looks like they aren't produced anymore...
This. Buy a good blender as having something with more uniform consistency helps a lot, (I use a Ninja with the cups like this; makes it stupid simple), mix in berries and almond milk/juice for extra calories and flavor variety (I used vanilla Huel which goes well with every frozen fruit I’ve tried), start with one shake for breakfast and then move to having one for breakfast and another for lunch. Keep eating whole meals for dinner when you are eating with your partner. Just be careful with how much you are adding to the Huel so you don’t end up consuming too many calories as you are trying to cut.
Someone pointed these out yesterday as being really good. He made a spreadsheet where for him they scored higher on nearly every metric than the Huel ones and they come in different sizes.
A bit pricey but something similar?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/BlenderBottle-Bottle-Perfect-Protein-28-Ounce/dp/B08TRBWBYD
Put a splash of vinegar in with water and shake it, let it sit a bit and rinse.
Let it air dry after regular cleaning.
I am more of a fan of the Blender Bottle , specifically the "v2" as it has a rounded bottom base so the ball does a better job of "blending", but I do usually just use a wireless stick blender to blend before I head out.
Airline pilot here. I started Huel back in 2018 and it's been awesome. I can't drink the normal powder anymore because they added something to the recipe that I am allergic to, but I found a different company with a similar product (super body fuel) however I eat the hot and savory all the time. It's a game changer for us on the road. Now packing for a 4 day is extremely easy and cheap (relatively). I throw 3 bags 2 different flavored hot and savory and super body fuel for my morning and snacks in between. And that's all I eat on the trip.
I bought a collapsible water heater (after another crew member found urine in the coffee machine) from Amazon found here collapsible water heater and heat all my meals that way. I've even used it in the galley.
Huel is a game changer and overall, except for being labeled a "slam clicker" I have saved a considerable amount of money despite the cost. Basically, all my food costs are covered by per dium and no running for shitty airport food between turns.
I use a cordless stick blender.
Super easy to clean and I actually use it in a Blender Bottle, then drop the shaker ball in and put on the lid so I can keep it mixed up throughout the day.
To clean I rinse it with hot water and put the blade half in the dishwasher every couple days.

I have x3 of these blenders. At my parents house, at my apartment, and at my work cubicle. I live off of these bottle/blenders.
The mouth of the bottle is a big circle so its super easy to clean.

A little late, but this is a go-to in my house. I know it’s got a little plastic for the lid, but it’s $10~ and they last forever.

I've been using these ones to store and bring with me scoops of huel and protein powders. Work great, sealed and big enough for 1 portion of huel or 1/2 and some proteins :)
I bought a wheat fiber nooblet bowl with a lid form Amazon. I use it for eeeeverything. It's originally made to cook ramen in but since the boiling water + wait method is the same for huel, I thought, why not?
It works perfect! Best bowl I ever bought and I highly recommend it for h&s.

That's the one I got. It's big so it holds a lot and the lid is sealed. You can also put it in the microwave if you like, too. I use this instead of the pot and it's much easier. The pot is just too small for me
While Huel does certainly have have a tendency to be a bit more textured than Soylent. It can definitely be made to be very smooth as well though: Huel just needs a bit more 'persuasion'.
I've been making a batch once or twice per day now. I've found that any of: blending, using more milk/plant-milk (less water), adding a bit of ice/frozen fruit, and letting it sit overnight in the fridge, all greatly 'improve' Huel's rough texture.
Usually blending with one or two of the other options is enough for me for it to be 'sufficiently smooth' for me. I'd suggest OP try to make it with a blender, at least once, to see how much of a difference it makes.
I tried a blender, and immediately stopped messing around with blender bottles. I guess I might need to consider that I might be somewhat of a fanatic though, since I now even own this crazy thing: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GQZMST7
I wanted a bigger shaker and use this, although you can’t get a full days worth in it, you can get a pretty decent amount.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/BlenderBottle-Pro45-Pro-Grey-Black/dp/B01DPMY15E
I’ve seen talk of the Takeya 2qt pitcher used for mixing a whole days worth of Soylent, guess it would work for huel.
Sugar free flavour drops, I get mine from Amazon UK, but you'll find them worldwide. There are plenty of brands, plenty of flavours, all zero calories. Just search flavour drops in Amazon.
I have a bunch of different ones. I only ever buy vanilla huel and flavour it with this stuff. Gives me any flavour I want!

Fellow ADHDer here. This is the answer. let your tap water run as hot as it can. Fill up the thermos to let it preheat. Microwave your water. Dump the thermos. Add the hot and savory and the boiling water. Give it a good shake. It’ll be perfect at lunch time.

makes sense. been looking into ideas for a job i'm starting soon and won't be able to leave to get fast food lol. been looking at the Stanely Legendary 17oz but only issue is if it does cool down by lunch then i can't microwave it.
I think this would work

I asked this same question (and got crap for complaining about the new zippers), and was recommended this: Cereal Containers Storage Set, Airtight Food Storage Containers, Kitchen & Pantry Organization, 8 Labels, Spoon Set & Pen, Great for Flour - BPA-Free Dispenser Keepers (135.2oz) - Chef’s Path (4) https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B081F6X2W2/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_HXVEAHR3V4M54XASYK26?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
They hold a whole bag of Huel Black, seal well, and support a family owned business. Plus they fit on my cabinet shelf, unlike most cereal containers.
TBMax, I randomly found on Amazon and love them. I throw 2 bags in at a time and it might hold 3, but never tried. They're air tight and seal when you push the handle down:

I’m not sure if it’s the same size, but I use a scale to weigh it so the volume of the scoop doesn’t matter to me too much.
Just use a protein funnel, it’ll save you time trying to find a smaller scoop.

You can't use the boiling water method alone, it doesn't work. What worked for me was the follow the microwave instructions and start with warm or hot water. It'll be perfect I swear. I love this hot sauce and I think it really mixes well with mac and cheese. I hated mac and cheese the first two times I made it but it got better and better after I got rid of the crunch.

Thinking about one of these myself now 🙂
Try tracking what you eat in a day on Cronometer for a few days, and see if you're hitting all of your RDIs. Given the total number of calories that you're consuming, and the fact that 1500 of them are coming from Huel, I think it's pretty likely that you're meeting most of your micronutrient needs. Nutritional deficiencies are much more common at low calorie intakes.
If you're concerned I would recommend logging a day of eating (including Huel, your multivitamin, and any other foods/drinks that you're consuming) on Cronometer, and see if you're getting excessive amounts of any micronutrients.
This is a GUESS obviously. Either the pre or probiotics I believe. PRE biotics are high FODMAP. If you want to know more about probiotics and why it's hard to have a standard amount of probiotics in the manufacturing process, listen here. https://www.iheart.com/podcast/105-stuff-you-should-know-26940277/episode/the-skinny-on-probiotics-29467582/ I'm not an expert on probiotics or anything.
I have 6 bottles I use. Two are shitty huel shaker. this is the best for on the go
I use a blender and just pour them out evenly.
Comes with spoon, add 2 scoops with hot water and it lasts for hours. Mac/Cheese requires a stir but the rest of the meals can just be shaken with the lid on.
Toss in the dishwasher at the end of the day.
These containers are ridiculous expensive but are just the bomb. That bar where you can level your cup is incredible and keeps you from spilling powder everywhere. Bit the bullet and bought them and have been glad ever since. And yes, we store in the pantry out of sunlight.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08YQN42HD/
I bought these. They fit a full bag of the huel black. Works great. Those damn zipper suck on the bags.
I've heard other people on here recommend these for those who are really struggling.

I believe it's something to do with the level of fibre in Huel compared to what you were probably eating before so maybe look at that??
Yeah!
Also, since you like the style, here are some smaller ones with an almost identical style which just happen to be a different brand.
Oh Jesus lol that is a lot of huel in one go! I usually do 2 black shakes and 2 hot and savoury meals, but I blend 6 (so 12 scoops) at a time w/ soya milk and put them in the fridge. I put one scoop of electrocyte powder per 3 shakes. I think tomorrow I will just wing it and see if 1 scoop of greens ruins the taste. The frozen berries is a good tip tbh, that would help a bit. I got the sun warrior greens powder and apparently it’s pretty bitter.
This is the electrocyte powder I use btw: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B08Q8MTY2N/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_VY89CN9TBSFWGFMRDNX9 It comes with a table spoon sized scoop, I kind of have just been winging anywhere between half to a full scoop. Honestly though if you are having 10 scoops of huel a day I might be more cautious with it, since it has potassium in the solution too. My main concern was that at a calorie deficit I will legitimately be chronically low on electrocyte with huel. Also the magnesium in the powder is a really bioavailable form and very anti-anxiety promoting and great for sleep. If you’re on adderral deffo look into supplementing w/ magnesium, the medication depletes your magnesium reserves super quick.
Sounds like you might not be seeing much traction on this for a while. I think I might be able to help a little. Missing the H&S is a blow, but you definitely don't need the different flavours of Huel powder. Here's a tip. Only buy vanilla Huel in bulk. Then get a bunch of these. Sugar free flavour drops. I imagine Japan will have an equivalent. Most of them use the same sweetener as Huel (sucralose) and you can get just about any flavour you can think of.
I've tried the majority of Huel flavours and can promise you that adding your own flavour is far superior. It tastes better that Huel's flavours, you can make it as sweet as you want, you have access to many more flavours than Huel's official lineup, it's available right now without having to wait months/years for Huel to do something about your issue. Since rolling my own I haven't gone back.
Some people said it stops after a couple weeks but I had this problem, along with diarrhea sometimes and it never stopped for me. I finally found a solution though! One of these digestive enzymes and 2 gas tablets taken right before drinking Huel completely solved the issue.
I use this over-the-door pocket organizer that I purchased on Amazon. It works great! I can fit one full bag of v3.0 or two partially full bags of v3.0 in each pocket.
I use an electric shaker bottle with a built-in motor. I use it for all of my fuel drinks and for my pre-workout. Not OP and idk exactly what he has, but I use ublock origin (generic adblock, but the best one around), privacy badger (tracker blocking. has pre programmed ones, but if it notices the same cookies being placed by multiple sites it'll flag, delete, and block future sites from placing it) , and decentraleyes (very hard to explain in a non tech way... blocks bad stuff though) Additionally, you probably already use this one but you want https everywhere just in case you accidentally click a non https link.
Secret answer C - With or without using the above stuff, set up dns blocking. Pihole if you want to be a tech nerd, or just something like https://nextdns.io/
I just bought 4 of these when I started drinking huel:
PhD Nutrition Mixball Shaker, 600 ml https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004WYUSMU/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_EQJPHGGXGA3KKPN3VZ7S
No leaks in 2+ months and they are so much cheaper than the huel bottle! I was blending when I started huel but I don't bother now.
I think it tastes pretty decent on it's own. You can easily up the taste with small changes such as adding various things(not all at the same time but you can experiment): Tomato paste, more salt, pepper, msg, mushroom seasoning, diced up veggies(you can sauté them too).
Some people think if you need to add to it then it defeats the purpose but I dissagree, they have done the majority of the work already for you and it's jack packed with nutrition so taking a quick moment to spruce it up if you want to is very easy.
I've recommended this before, but this supplement helped take the wind out of my sails when I first started with Huel.
But it does get better with time. Took a few weeks for me, but I noticed that after a while I didn't need the digestive enzymes anymore.
Just started doing full huel with H&S (previously all shakes). I find I was missing the spicy, warm, and salty.
Use a blender. It makes such a big difference. I use a Nutribullet pro. Also don't try to drink it in like 30 minutes. Drink it over a hour or 2. Take sips. By doing that I feel full for like 4 hour's. Black has more protein but less carbs and I often felt less full on black then normal so I switched back.
NutriBullet NB9-1301K Pro 13 Pcs... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SX5VKZY?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I do
Huel banana in the morning.
Huel vanilla in the evening.
And currently Mexican chili for dinner.
I'm using it for weight loss.
For the shakes I do half cold water and soy milk + 6 ice cubes.
The Airscape Kilo should fit all 3 of those requirements, but it's pricey so I haven't bought one yet..
I've seen a comment on here from someone at Huel who said a clear container is fine as long as you keep in in a cupboard away from light. That's probably your best option if you want something affordable.
I have the same problem and these little beauties worked well for me: Source Naturals Essential Enzymes... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000GFSVPU?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
YMMV of course. But taking one of these with each huel did resolve a ton of my problems with toxic farts.
YMMV but some folks seem to be happy with: https://www.amazon.com/VOLTRX-Premium-Electric-Protein-Shaker/dp/B07QP13BJ9 or similar.
I just use this and a canning funnel so the powder doesn’t spill.
I have dedicated containers for all the powders: Huel, Soylent, protein... It's so tedious fiddling with the shitty resealable zippers several times a day. Just buy yourselves a few of these and stop messing around with the bags.
I purchased some food storage containers on Amazon for my different protein powders a while back and found that they are the perfect size for one full bag of Huel. It doesn't solve the issue with the bags being awful, but it makes it so I only have to deal with each bag once. I'd highly recommend this to anyone who is tired of having to clean Huel off their kitchen counter whenever they make a shake.
Here's a link if anyone is interested. I now have 8 of these things, 3 of which I use for protein and 5 of which are used for Huel. They even come with labels. Just make sure you're still using the Huel scoops as the scoops that come with them are MASSIVE (I am not affiliated with this product in any way).
An insulated blender bottle will keep it cold for hours and hours. I've even left mine in the car during summer and it was still refreshingly cold
I've used this one with good success. If you put in ice cubes in the morning, you'll get a similar effect as if you put in the fridge overnight. https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B084PVQGH1/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_GV2BTQD9Y7JYNPZ6SAX0?psc=1
Cheaper and I'd guess more effective. Definitely not as cool though.
Ya kinda. here's the ones I have, definitely recommend. Get metal shaker balls. They're 80% as good as a blender and 5% of the clean up work. (Also take out the rubbish plastic mesh mixer thing that huel put in their shaker cups.

I add powdered cheddar. Not too much though because it will add to much sodium to my diet.
I did begin to search for 4L jars but gave up quickly after realising that it's probably more effort than what it's worth. How about this glass bottle? https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07K1X89M3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_glt_fabc_XBEWVVB714AJ9J7FTYYX
> I got excited for the design because I thought it contained a powder compartment too.
I'd rather not have a powder compartment. In order to securely fit 100g of Huel, plus the water and room for shaking? That'd be a massive shaker and only holds 1 extra meal.
I have 2 of these 2packs to keep with me. Small, portable, and go in my bookbag (or cup holder) with no issues. I barely know they're there. Much better than a gigantic shaker, in my opinion.
Huel Black Vanilla: I used filtered water and just a pinch of this Oatmeal Spice Blend thingy ( Cinnamon, Ginger, Cardamom and other warm spices from amazon page) https://www.amazon.com/Premium-Essential-Oatmeal-SPICE-LEAF/dp/B07WWJPX9G
Yeah, customer service was extremely helpful and generous and checked my lot numbers, they said the flavor should not have changed and sent out 2 replacements. However, they tasted exactly like the newer one. I think someone had posted awhile back that the bags arent always phased to the next flavor 100% matching with the huel itself and even tho the lot number shoooould be printed after thats the only thing I can think happened.
I found a zero calorie chocolate sweetener on Amazon, one tbsp makes a full serving taste a lot chocolatier if you want to look at that. I originally did not want to add anything to the huel but honestly a little goes a long way and it takes the flavor back to being something I look forward to: https://www.amazon.com/NuNaturals-NuStevia-Sugar-Free-Sweetener-Calories/dp/B00K7RH4SC?th=1&psc=1
These ones. I recommend this company in general, I’ve used them for storing oats and lentils etc in the past too, their containers are really sturdy. There’s lots of different sizes but I’ve found 4l is good for the powder. You could probably get away with 3.5L if you see another container you like, but I like having the bit of extra room at the top because it makes it easier! The h&s just barely fits into a 1.5L container.
I use this guy right here. Holds a full bag with a few inches at the top to spare. Seals air tight.

I am about to get a bag of unflavored/unsweetened with my next order. Will let you know, planning to add syrup like this when it gets here.
So far, using the syrups on already-sweetened Huel makes it way too sweet for me, so I am hoping that unsweetened will fix this issue.

These are close but seems they don’t have the same anymore. I found them at Walmart or target for about 6-7 bucks a container. Was labeled as a cereal storage container. Sorry mate, hope that helps.
