I picked up my first ukulele about 6 months ago and felt pretty overwhelmed as someone with no musical instrument background. I did some searching for beginner resources and came across an app called Yousician. If you've ever used Duolingo, it works similarly, but for music. It records you while you play so you know if you're hitting the right notes (think real life Guitar Hero) which is pretty neat. The free version limits you to a certain amount of lessons per day, but I've found it to be good for me. I eventually started supplementing with YouTube videos and tabs once I had a few basic chords down.
I'm far from a pro uke player but getting this instrument is truly one of the best things I've ever done. It's a ton of fun and so exciting to see yourself make progress. It also costs around $50 for a decent beginner ukulele, so it's a fairly affordable hobby as far as music goes. I hope this was somewhat helpful and I'm looking forward to checking out the resources in the OP.
