Not sure where you live, but I've posted to and seen posts on NextDoor asking neighbors for recommendations. That's how we found our housekeeper who's been with us for 5 years now!
Hello in there!: a big sister's book of waiting
We also have I am a Big Sister from when the oldest was two and going to be a big sister. I like it because it explains in simple terms things she can't do around baby as a big sister, but also explains things she can do
I started adding one tablespoon or so of Acacia to my coffee and they seems to help some. It’s high in fiber and a prebiotic.
This is the one I use: Anthony's Organic Acacia Senegal Powder, 1 lb, Batch Tested Gluten Free, Non GMO, Soluble Fiber, Prebiotic https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GT9VSYR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_0FF0NTSEY1QX2K906QSQ
I think anything is worth trying, but you should probably see a professional in the meantime, like a physical therapist. I've also found some relief with this support belt, but my pain is primarily caused by my SI joint.
Sounds like the SI joint. Mine has been awful. I ordered this support belt from Amazon, which has been really helpful. I've been wearing it during the day, but last night I slept with it on and I felt a lot better this morning. I'm also seeing a physical therapist, which people here suggested.
To decrease the pain, you need to limit the movement/instability (thus why the belt helps), so you can tell your husband he doesn't know what he's talking about ;)
Thanks for the info! This is the brand I use and have had good luck with. They are based out of Austin. I have almost this exact bassinet, which the side folds down, (there is still a lip to keep a newborn in) and it was tall enough to be over my bed or pushed back. I loved it with my first and will use again for sure! I could reach over and check/comfor her from my spot on the bed, but felt she was very safe in her own space. I am personally too paranoid to truly cosleep, so this worked out really well!!

Everyone told me that I HAD to get a rock n play, miracle worker, etc etc (this was 2018, before the recalls). My baby hated it. I felt so betrayed lol. Also baby carriers - I have pretty much every one on the market and my kid hates ALL of them. On the other hand, a wipe warmer (which I never would have bought but my friend had and gave to me) was a godsend for my fussy baby who hated getting his diaper changed!
My advice is to just get the essentials, and as you figure out your baby - that’s what Amazon prime is for!
The one essential I will recommend for everyone is several 10-pack of pre-fold cloth diapers. They can be used for EVERYTHING. Burp clothes, wash cloths, tissues, rags in the kitchen, face towels - we have so many and they get so much use.

Not cooling as far as I’m aware, but I use this memory foam one & put a silk pillowcase on it. Just looked & there’s a 30% off coupon for cyber Monday.
I bought one on Amazon, but wouldn't recommend it because it's kinda flat. Part of it zips off and that's all I've been using for my belly. PharMeDoc Pregnancy Pillow, Grey... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JR3T1G6?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
So rude 🤣 Have you seen these??

I’ve given up on “regular” bras for the time being & have been wearing ones like these. The pain was keeping me up at night so I now wear them to sleep as well and it helps.
Overalls! Baggy overalls are my new best friend! I'm about to buy these in every color!
Recently got a pair of these and love them. I think think they run slightly small, so you may want to size up if in between sizes.

So far I love these leggings from Target
and these undies from Amazon
I buy a brand called Gratlin on Amazon! They are not cups though, they are a stretchy material that has been wonderful for accommodating my engorgement and when I'm completely deflated while nursing and they actually give me support and lift as well. They are so comfortable to wear during the day and at night too. I would recommend these even if you don't plan on breastfeeding because they are just so comfortable.
If any of you are struggling with waistbands but don't like dresses: try overalls!! I forgot they existed but I just bought these and they are my new favorites!!
One book that helped ease my anxiety about what birth would be like was Ina May’s Guide to Childbirth.
It’s pretty focused on natural births (which is fantastic), but note that you don’t need to want a natural birthing process to learn, appreciate, and prepare for the range of experiences you might have. I ended up opting for a hospital birth with an epidural, and would still recommend this book. I will read it again in preparation for my current baby.
Not very life like… but I plan to get these for my son for the same reason as you. We are an interracial family so I like the diversity this set offers… hopefully a baby to look like the new sibling and possible cousins in the future.
Edit because I forgot the link 🤦♀️

For any other shorties like me! These fit like 7/8 length on me at 5’0” and are so comfy! Will be 10 weeks Monday and already can’t stand how waistbands feel on my bloated belly.

This is entirely normal. On both accounts. It will get more active to as you get farther in. As far as bowel movements everyone has a different opinion, but many many many pregnant people recommend taking a magnesium supplement like calm. It has solved the problem for me this pregnancy to!
In my opinion, the best quality for price as far as basic tees is motherhood. Plus, they send you a little gift bag of free samples! I really like the nursing tanks from target as well as their Auden nursing bra. For comfy bras to lounge around in my faves have been these from amazon:
Vinfact Nursing Bra 3 Pack Seamless V Neck Maternity Bra Women Pregnancy Breastfeeding Bra https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08T692LY1/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_1VZ1PW56MV7PF5VCFBMY?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
My doc also recommended a prenatal with DHA. I’ve started taking the Nature Made prenatal multi + DHA(here), which I like because it’s only ONE pill and it’s a softgel capsule, so wayyyy easier to take than a pressed tablet. I also have issues with gagging taking pills, and the previous one I used requires me to take THREE giant powdery gross smelly tablets every day. This is just one capsule, and doesn’t have any taste or a strong smell. And also has iron!
Let me introduce you to emesis bags which are significantly less likely to rip and leave you with a big clean up. (Ask me how I know) Worth the investment, the last thing you want to do after you vomit is clean up your vomit that got all over the floor (or the car in my case)
Amazon, bought it ahead of time because she is tiny and grows out of shirts slowly. 😄
I got the"Vintage natural" color shirt, it's super cute!

I’ve used this one for the last 18 months including 7 months of postpartum and I will probably keep using it even after this kiddo is out. I love it so much!
Pharmedoc U shaped pillow with detachable side: https://www.amazon.com/PharMeDoc-Pregnancy-Maternity-Detachable-Extension/dp/B07JR3T1G6 I’ve even taken it on road trips and camping because I love it so much.

I love these! It had pockets too.
Not an app, but my husband and I got these water bottles on amazon and they have worked really well for us on keeping us hydrated! We also have a challenge between each other that whoever finishes their second bottle last has to wash the dishes that evening :) keeps it competitive and fun!!

I bought this and have been loving everything in there. She even has a section on “what to eat when you don’t feel like eating.”
This is what I wear daily. It's about as much lift and separate as I have found with under wire free bras. Things eventually settle in the middle, but a little adjustment now and them helps. And they are cheap.
I'm a 36G. I wear a 38DDD and wish they had a cup size bigger because I'm still nursing a toddler and everything fluctuates.
Their bands run small. So size up at least one.

Tons of great info here!
I love Mommy Labor Nurse on Instagram. I took her birthing class and I felt very prepared with my first! She also has a newsletter that is really great for giving you a timeline of when to do things during your pregnancy.
Karrie Locher is another good Instagram account to follow, she has tons of baby/postpartum recs! She actually just had a baby and she’s sharing tons of information as she’s living through it right now!
I got a pregnancy journal that gave me day-by-day information and I loved it. It was fun to have a little snippet to read every day, and it gave good prompts on what to write about. I will probably use a plain journal with this baby but use a lot of the prompts from this one
Definitely read Happiest Baby on the Block.
Look into an infant CPR class, tiny hood has a good one.
Look into a breastfeeding class if you’re interested in bf. Be My Breast Friend is a good account on Instagram. I also really like One with the Pump! I ended up having to exclusively pump and she has been a huge help!
Honestly, my bumper group was one of the biggest helps! Hopefully this group is a huge help too!
I liked Ovia for pregnancy app last time, pretty standard information, but nice interface.
I remember being in your shoes and feeling really overwhelmed, but it's ok. Everything happens pretty slowly, and you have SO MUCH time to prepare and figure out what works for you, what products you are interested in, and which directions you want to go with from birth and beyond.
My one rec is a good maternity pillow. Don't wait, get something between your knees when you sleep ASAP, your back will thank you. I really liked this one from Amazon (it does take up a TON of room in the bed, but so comfy) but it's also quite firm and I remember not everyone loved it from my last group. https://www.amazon.ca/Pregnancy-Pillowcase-70x145cm-Maternity-Detachable/dp/B08FMW9WT9/ref=sr\_1\_16?dchild=1&keywords=pregnancy+pillows&qid=1633027493&sr=8-16
