I asked him about it and he said "It runs great when it gets started. I dont have the time to fix it so it starts". and that he doesn't remember any issues with it when he drove it last. Not sure how long ago that was. It does look like it's in great condition. Original motor at 55k as well. Idk if I put that on the post. 86blazer
Oldsmobile motors can be done up pretty nice. Lots of aftermarket support for the 455, but the 400 (and 403) and 350 can be rebuilt for performance as well. I have a shop doing a stroker 386 out of a Rocket 350 for me, but I used Bill Trovato’s guide to help me pick what I wanted.
You can read more about the Rocket 493 and other Oldsmobile engines at this link.
The problem I have is the person who owned this before me cut that entire section out for God knows what reason. I need to get material back in there to make an appropriately sized cut to fit this radio.

My concern is the width from dial to dial and height of the stereo exceeds the dimensions of the radio I want to put in there.
Motive Products - 0108 Brake System Power Bleeder for Most Late Model GM Cars and Trucks https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000TK9FE8/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_PJ8GH311DHJHEF2X89G5?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
This one is for a GMT800 but you can get different connectors for them. Super easy, just pressurize the system and open the bleeder. It keeps the master cylinder full.
It's that padding you find under carpet. But first, lay down some vibration/heat dampener material like https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00URUIKAK/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_i_X81ZDbKEHJVWF. It will help with sound and heat. You will thank me later.
DashMat Original Dashboard Cover Chevrolet and GMC (Premium Carpet, Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000F0QSJ2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_aZRszbTVBXQ76 this is exactly what I purchased for my 82 blazer. Fits great and is cut exactly how it should be. Had no issues installing it. For my specific situation I actually used some strong spray adhesive and permanently fixed the mat to my dash, that what you don't get any movement of slop anywhere. Check it out!
Edit once more: The picture is a generic picture by the way, not the specific one for our trucks. It's the correct one though lol. Use amazons vehicle check to be extra sure.
