Hi u/Scuba_Steve_7_7_7 👋🏻,
Can you please share with me how did you try to execute your purchase? 🤔
Our Trade tab, Kraken Pro App and trade.kraken.com would have resulted in just 0.26% in fees, and that's if you are a taker. For maker, i.e. a limit order, that fee would drop to just 0.16% even at our starting tier level. 👀

Keep me posted,

We do not share information about your account with governments unless we are under a legal obligation to do so. For example, a lawful subpoena, warrant, or court order. See our privacy policy for more details.
Please keep in mind that Kraken is not responsible for determining whether taxes apply to your trades, or for collecting, reporting, withholding, or remitting any taxes arising from any trades.

It is the client's responsibility to determine what, if any, taxes apply to the trades completed via our services, and to report and remit the correct tax to the appropriate tax authority.

Hi u/Brave_Story_2111,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing the ticket number.
I've escalated the case for you.
>Kraken is an exchange service, not a wallet service. We provide clients the ability to deposit funds to our corporate wallet for safekeeping while the funds are being exchanged or used for trading or staking, but we do not provide a personal wallet service.
As with most exchanges, funds sent to deposit addresses are moved to cold storage and hot wallets. Withdrawals are handled by the hot wallet and not the deposit address; the sending address for withdrawals will be different than the deposit address.
The specialist assigned on your case will reach out to you as soon as possible.
Thank you for your patience in the meantime.

Hey, hi there u/dope_snoop,
At the moment, we do not offer any lending products. However, we have a staking program, which goes both on & off-chain. There are some FIAT currency included too.
Every Kraken related update (that includes the launch of new products & new listings) is to be announced on our Social Media Channels and on the Kraken Blog.
We strongly advise everyone to follow & subscribe to our Blog, to avoid misunderstandings or deliberately spread rumors.

Hello u/Tha-ShadowHunter,
Thank you for reaching out.
The trading fees are actually quite simple.
Depending on your order type (Maker or Taker), the trade fees will start at 0.16% for Maker and 0.26% for Taker trades.
The fees are charged per-trade basis.
Fees are calculated as a percentage of the trade's quote currency volume (by default).
You can also check the exact amount of fees incurred by navigating to your Ledger on the History page and filtering by 'Trade'.
Unless you are using a Stablecoin & FX Pairs or using margin trades, the highest ever trade fees will be 0.26%.
Please review your Ledger and ask us if you have any questions.
Best,
Sam from Kraken

The trick is to buy stablecoins and convert them into what you want.
https://www.kraken.com/features/fee-schedule
It's about $26.36 per $1000 for stablecoins vs $32.36 for other cryptocoins. 0.9% vs 1.5%. Or 1.06% vs 1.5% after conversion.
It's not amazing but it's definitely useful as that fee can easily be made back and more on any half assed dip if you're caught flat footed.
Hi u/0DC28,
Thanks for reaching out.
Although there is no option to buy DOGE directly with GBP at this time, you can convert your GBP to USD or EUR on Kraken.
Once you have converted GBP to USD or EUR, you can use those to buy DOGE.

Disingenuous to quote the maximum trading fee. There’s actually a scale based on your previous 30 days’ trading volume and whether you’re maker or taker.

I hope it will be BCHN (Bitcoin Cash Node) and NOT Amaurys Bitcoin ABC. ABC plans to fork in a coinbase rule (IFP) that takes 8% of the miner block reward and deposit it directly to an adress they control. That is completely uacceptable.
Also, according to cash.coin.dance, there is 70-80% miner signalling for BCHN, that is NO to ABCs IFP. Also all other node implementations and most businesses (approx. 90%) are against ABCs IFP. Futures price on CoinEx (https://www.coinex.com/mobile/bch-fork) also inficate majority 90% support for BCHN, and only approx. 9-10% for ABCs IFP.
BCHN is also a faster node. It relays transactions faster and it's miner code is slightly faster than ABCs. Lastly, BCHN and the other node implementations are dedicated to voluntary funding and not coercive measures like ABCs IFP.
So, I hope that Kraken will run BCHN as BCH ticker or any other Bitcoin Cash node software that is not ABC. If the ABC chain becomes a viable chain, it should be treated as a new minority chain with a new ticker.
You will have to reset it with VIA Kraken support.
Newbie to crypto suggestion-
I suggest you use Authy from now on and enable multi device in the event you lose your device you can just log into another device but that will put you at risk to get hacked.
Advance suggestion-
Get 2-3 Yubikeys. Reset all your 2FA and have all 2-3 yubikeys with you and all your 2FA accounts to be associated with the 2-3 yubikeys.
Keep one of your keys on your car key, one at home safe, 3rd one at a bank or families house. I would even go as far as using a Virtual Machine to reset all your 2FA accounts and Screenshot all your QR codes and Vercrypt them into a file that way if you lose a key and want replace it. You can do so with out have to reset all your 2FA accounts. Load up the VM, unencrypt the QR codes and add one by one.

If you're looking for the most cost-effective route, then it all depends on how much ETH you are looking to purchase. You can take a look at our fee schedule here.
If you use Apple Pay to buy it, it will incur a 1.5% fee on Kraken's end as well as a 3.75%+€0.25 processing fee on the other end.
If you send a wire with Chase bank, you will incur a flat $25 wire fee. You will then have to place a trade order--incurring either a 0.26% taker fee for a market order or a 0.16% maker fee for a limit order. (Keep in mind that you can earn discounts on these fees as your trading volume increases, but this only applies to trades and not instant purchases like the Apple Pay option.)
Now, let's pretend you want to buy 1000 USD worth of ETH and determine the fees:
But now let's pretend you want to buy 100 USD worth of ETH:
As you can see, if you plan on buying a large amount of ETH, it could be more beneficial to do a wire; however, if you plan to buy a small amount, the 'Instant Buy' via Apple Pay option might be the better choice. In the end, it's entirely up to you!
My apologies for the novel I've written, but I hope it helps!

Hi, u/TattooedPolitician,
You have the right idea. We absolutely take extensive security measures and precautions to protect all of the assets stored on Kraken. You can check out our security page to read more about this.
As for the part about keeping full reserves: Remember the Great Depression when everyone tried to withdraw their money at once, but the banks didn't have their money? In the event that everyone who uses Kraken wanted to withdraw their cryptocurrency at once, they would be able to do so because we have all the money unlike most banks who only keep fractional reserves.
I hope that helps a bit, but please let me know if you have any other questions!

Hey u/reytr0,
Yes, what you mentioned is entirely possible; however, you can actually sell EUR for USD using the EUR/USD trading pair instead, saving you an extra step as well as trading fees. The fee for placing a sell order on EUR/USD would start at 0.2% depending on your 30-day trading volume.
(Note that this type of trade is not available to clients based in the United States, but you mentioned you reside in a European Country, so it should be available to you!)
Please let me know if you have any further questions!

Limit Vs Stop Loss Limit Buy Orders.
When placing a buy order, I understand that the difference between a Limit order and a Stop Loss Limit order is that the SLL order lets one enter a stop price so that when that is reached it will trigger the purchase/limit order when the limit is reached. I don't understand the benefit of one over the other. The main thing is to ensure the crypto is bought at a certain price eg £1,000.
Won't both the Limit and the Stop Loss Limit achieve the objective of buying at the limit price of £1,000? Is there some other difference? Disparity in fees?
Would be grateful for an explanation.
A Limit Order lets you buy or sell at a fixed price that you determine.
Stop Loss Limit Order- a limit order will trigger when the stop price is reached.

Unfortunately, from whay I gathered from this subreddit and Trust PilotTrust Pilot , there is no guaranteed when they will release the funds..
We don't even know if they are satisfied with the submitted photo.
Mine was rejected three times, and suddenly I received the approved email...
Quick question - if I use cryptowat.ch to trade will I be charged the fees for Kraken or Kraken Pro? Also, when will you add support for the crypto.com exchange?
Thanks, yes I like the pie-chart view ... it would just be useful to be able to see both bought and staked coins and their values in the same place. As an investor, I want to see how much money I have tied up; where it is; and how it is doing in terms of RoI.
I'll try cryptowat.ch, thanks
Hi u/hilawe,
Although OCO (one cancels the other) orders are not currently available, the good news is we are currently testing it and hope to deploy it some time in the future.
Any updates on this order type will be communicated via email, blog,
and/or our Twitter feed.
As an alternative, if you have the funds available in your account, you can
create 2 separate orders, one for a stop loss and one for a take profit order. Please
note that if one executes, the other will not cancel so you may consider
setting up alerts on Cryptowatch to help you in keeping track of your order fills.

Hi u/ChinmayBhosale,
Device confirmation is stored in browser cookies, it's not a VPN issue. You need to enable cookies, or stop using an incognito window, if you want your device approval saved.
At the time we released device confirmation emails, we saw that 60% of clients who fell victim to phishing attacks could’ve prevented such with this feature. Hence we took this action for the greatest good for those coming into the space.
We are also working on a ‘device whitelist’ feature, that would allow such functionality requested. We do not have an ETA to share at this time.
I would also like to note that trading via a third-party charting service via API (like Cryptowatch) would allow you to stay logged in for longer periods of time with less security risk. Additionally there is the ability for SMS alerts, though my favorite is their low resource desktop app that allows you to build your own visualization of real time order placement.

Did you hear back from them? I also made this mistake today as felt that i was sending to Matic network (https://www.kraken.com/u/funding/deposit?asset=MATIC).
Annoying i can see it on Polyscan so i know its there but as they have my private keys i cant get to it.
This seems to be a common mistake.
I also did this just now with quite a lot of Matic. There was on indication on this page (https://www.kraken.com/u/funding/deposit?asset=MATIC) that it was on the ERC20 standard and if fact it says POLYGON ADDRESS which is totally misleading.
That was a lot of money i sent and find it ridiculous that there are two different funding pages (that i later found out). This could easily be resolved by opening a Metamask wallet, importing the private keys and Matic network and sending it back. I hope that someone at Kraken would take the 5 minutes this process would take...
Also, does anyone know, if Kraken adds Matic to their trading system, will my Matic be there in my wallet?

This is called "dust", which may happen when the tiny fractions are left not withdrawn or sold fully during the trade.
Unfortunately, at this moment, we do not offer a feature where you can convert dust balances, but we are working on one.
To minimize the chance of ending up with dust balances, they can consider using the 100% button on Kraken Terminal or the Kraken pro app.
Another option you may consider is to trade one of your cryptocurrencies to the cryptocurrency you have the dust balance in. Then, you can trade the total amount of it to the cryptocurrency you wish. The minimum order sizes will let you know about the amounts. Also, take into account the Fee schedule.
You can also make use of the Buy Crypto widget where the minimum order size is 1$.

Here's an article explaining how it works in detail. I do agree with u/RickCroissant in some ways though. Margin can be extremely volatile, a good rule of thumb is to not get anywhere near overextending yourself when first starting out. I really would recommend watching plenty of youtube videos from multiple perspectives before going all out.

So after being told that in order to use my actual bank account, I would need to use Etana.
Etana got setup this week after giving my ticket to Kraken.
Afterwards I find out that Etana will only accept wire transfers..... I could have been wiring money to Kraken the WHOLE TIME.
Why are we being led to believe we can do it from our bank accounts?
Hello u/ArcanoBot,
Thanks for reaching out.
We understand the frustration felt by the community about the ACH delays.
If you visit the Fee schedule page, you will notice the section that mentions this:
Online Banking purchases via ACH are currently limited to a small percentage of clients, we will soon be making it available to all US residents.
This feature is currently at live test phase and will be available to rest of our US clients in the upcoming weeks.

thx u/36rnt!

Please take your time to write a review on trustpilot, I'm still waiting for my funds after 1 month, the more we let people know what's happening, the less amount of people will suffer from the same problem.
Safe from what exactly?
Hackers?
Hackers, generally, yeah they are some of the stronger ones :

Hey u/SeaOpportunity3115!
Jacob from Kraken here. As others have mentioned, the fee is assessed on a per trade basis rather than at the end of the month. The fee is 0.26% (not 24%) for the first $50k in trades, so on $50,000 worth of trades at the taker rate the total fees would be $50,000 x 0.0026 = $130
For a full breakdown of our fee tiers please see here: https://www.kraken.com/features/fee-schedule

Cheers!

Hello u/scatmandu1,
If you are using 'Buy Crypto' option using your account balance, there are no fees applied.
If you're making a purchase with a debit or credit card there is a fee of 3.75% + €0.25 per transaction.
Both card payments and current Kraken balance payments are subject to a built-in spread that is added to the quote shown on the order confirmation page. The order confirmation page shows exactly what you'll pay and receive.
As for the trades made on the markets, there are trading fees applied per-trade basis starting at 0.16% (maker fee) and 0.26% (taker fee).

Hi u/bigslick1817,
Thanks for reaching out!
While most of the staking services are as easy as clicking the 'stake' and 'unstake' button anytime you feel like it, there are some tokens that involves mandatory locking periods.
Please read carefully about the staking services and the risks that may be involved before deciding.

I sent some € to Kraken and afterwards I had the same problem as you. Had no chance to access my account even after a few PW changes. I opened a ticket and got the standard answer. Nothing worked. I replied again and told them that it doesnt work. The answer: My account is closed. My money is not accessible.

Hello u/rapidtvone,
Security is Kraken's number one priority.
For every account access related requests, we have actual trained security specialists reviewing every details of the account thoroughly to make sure that the requester is the actual owner of the account.
The downside of such high security standard is that in times of high volume, there may be some backlogs created due to the large number of returning clients who may have forgotten their own login credentials.
If you have a ticket number, please share it with us and we will try to escalate the case for you.
Best,
Sam from Kraken

No problem u/apathy420, thanks for the reply and we are glad that you are asking questions! In the following article, you will find more information about security practices we have implemented at Kraken. Should you need any more help, please feel free to contact us.
Best, Kraken.
Hello again,
To begin, I'm assuming you're talking about this: https://www.kraken.com/en-us/features/fee-schedule
The mention of 30 days here is to do with our Fee Structure, in which the more you trade in a single 30 day period, the lower your maker and taker fees are. This is a rolling 30 days, so in response to your initial question, if a trade is open from one calendar month to another, that doesn't really affect the fee structure, unless you happened to have made a large trade the first day of the month.
It's worth noting that in cases involving margin, Margin fees are independent of the maker and taker fees. They are charged on the open, close, and every 4 hours the trade is open. You can see those fees on the fourth tab of the same link above.
If you have any further questions please reach out again here,

Thank you!
I've been searching for this order type ever since Kraken first removed it. I recently discovered the android app ProfitTrading For Kraken has an add-on extension which features Trailing Stop orders. Unfortunately, the extension costs $32...
Since it's been ~ 3 1/2 years since Kraken announced they were "temporarily suspending all advanced order types", I highly doubt they have any interest in bringing them back. Our best bet is to look for 3rd party solutions.
