Thanks for posting /u/amazballz77
I’m so glad Juan was able to get most of his photos from tv screen shots! He has brought up a good point that lisannes hair was blowing in the wind. However there is no reported wind on that day.
Yes, sounds like Juan has tried to retain as much information about the case when he can do so, like Scarlet as well. So all credit to him and Scarlet for this effort.
Okay, now the point about Lisanne's hair blowing:
- Can you confirm if this is at the base of the pianista trail?
- How far along the trail do you think Lisanne and Kris are right now?
- What photos from the girls's trip is Juan referring to, that he thinks is composited into this photo?
- I found the weather forecast as well as wind speed and wind gusts for Boquete district, but do you know how we can be sure that this weather forecast applies to this specific spot?

Cheers!
Read the book: https://www.amazon.com/Boys-Cave-Inside-Impossible-Thailand/dp/006291071X It is worth it! One of the most amazing survival stories I ever came across.
If you look at this satellite photo, this is the last area they pass through before their bones are found, so they either they passed that very area alive, and it looks like quite a dangerous rocky area, or they got washed downstream as bare bones. But also it looks alot like a waterfall and there's no way that bag isn't getting wet inside.

Octavio was a professor in the Panama University in a course of criminology that Coriat took, according to this book
But he has almost no public presence apart from a little time on the episode of Lost in the Wild episode: Hike Into Hell around 3:29 timestamp.
No books, no studies, no local interviews or any papers published, but it´s always a source for Coriat.
Now probably retired runs a building maintenance contractor business, and his opinions about the case on twitter, especially about the 911 call makes no sense.
Hi, here is the link:

Is the set of images at the end showing the same Boulder from various views/angles icluding an angle almost, but only almost the same as image 550 - fom my perspective, taking into account your analysis, the enhanced image from the DailyBeast article and the mention of where guides pinpointed the night-location (also DailyBeast article) this is the spot with 99,999999% certainty
Thanks, seems like an useful app, although I doubt the girls used it on 1 April.
The map has the same loop around the Mirador that appears on TripAdviser, in fact it looks they use the same map.
Interesting to read the review by Luc Doucet especially the "It is easy to get lost at some sections, so make sure you have all trails map downloaded" bit. Some feel it is not possible to get lost, yet there are a few who differs.

Unfortunately Kris and Lisanne were not experienced hikers, it was a spur of the moment thing, seen probably based on the information hey had as an easy hike that can be done with light supplies and tank tops and shorts.
In the end it turned out it wasn't even human tissue. I know that the article of A Coriat causes a lot of confussions, because of that I was thinking on writing a post about it.
I own a book that she wrote so I recognized that writing style, the name of the (professor) criminologist Calderón an others things.
I'm saying 50 is the lower limit, not that it ever necessarily hit that low. It's not unusual for temperatures at night to hit in the low 60s there. Possibly minus a few degrees for extra elevation, and I think 50 is a reasonable absolute lower limit.
Lack of mention in the diaries was the argument used that the girls were not there before 1 Apr 2014. I understand this position.
According to the Marja West book, they went to a "Fusion" restaurant in the evening of 30 Mar 2014 but it was not mentioned in the diaries.
The diaries mentioned touring Boquete but no specific mention of Coffee and Flower Fair. It was the photos that showed they were there. No diary records or photos to show where else they went.
They were at the Spanish school in the afternoon. Did they spend hours chatting with different people over there? Maybe.
While investigators found that at least one of the phones made a Wifi connection at the Spanish School on Mon 31 March 2014 around 1600h, there was no mention of such connection on Sun 30 March.
Neither the investigators nor the book authors considered the activities of Sunday 30 March 2014 of significance. Whatever network connections the phones could have made on that day could have provided the answer on whether they were indeed at the location.

Do we even know the purpose of the camera being used that night was to take photos?
If I'm not mistaken, this is the camera in question: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00FRJLW2O?pf_rd_r=MC3WMXRD9H00VC5BKKV5&pf_rd_p=8fe9b1d0-f378-4356-8bb8-cada7525eadd&pd_rd_r=9571f43c-f9f6-4564-a379-b945d3b98dee&pd_rd_w=aW9hw&pd_rd_wg=SYNox&ref_=pd_gw_unk
This camera has an LCD screen on the side of the photographer. Is it possible that one of the girls (probably the survivor--this is probably the night when the first girl died) was pointing the camera up, away from what she was looking at, and was taking photos in order to keep refreshing the LCD screen so that she could have some light to look at whatever it was that had her attention (probably her friend, who died that night)?
If that's the case, then these "photos" aren't really photos at all and we've been misled by them from the beginning.
